What we’re looking for in our Head of Health & Safety and Environment:
- NEBOSH diploma or equivalent H&S qualification and chartered ISOH membership
- Significant Health & Safety management experience at a similar head of department level

- Experience in a complex, multi-site public sector, facilities or charity organisation

About the role:
Real change rarely happens in a straight line. At our Ashley Road project, you’ll work alongside people who have experienced homelessness, trauma and multiple disadvantage, offering the consistency, practical support and belief that can help them begin moving forward.
As a Project Worker, you’ll hold a caseload and build purposeful, trusting relationships with clients. You’ll complete assessments, develop person-centred support and safety plans, and help people identify goals that feel meaningful and achievable to them. This could include supporting someone to improve their health, address substance use, manage their accommodation, strengthen their daily living skills or reconnect with services and opportunities in their community.
You’ll be there when situations become challenging, responding calmly to risk, safeguarding concerns and periods of crisis while continuing to recognise each person’s strengths and potential. Working closely with colleagues and external partners, you’ll advocate for clients, coordinate joined-up support and help remove the barriers that have previously prevented them from accessing the help they need.
This is a hands-on and varied role where no two days will look the same. Alongside direct support, you’ll contribute to the safe and effective running of the accommodation, maintain clear and accurate records and help create an environment where clients are treated with dignity, respect and hope. You’ll also receive ongoing training, reflective practice and development opportunities to strengthen your skills and build your future career within SHP.

This role will lead CAFOD’s policy and advocacy work aimed at building a fairer global financial system. This will include oversight of our internal IT systems: our Salesforce CRM, the Hub virtual learning environment for pupils, tutors and teachers on our programmes, and the Tutor Zone onboarding platform for our tutors. The role will require working closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure that the technology developments are well planned and fit with the needs of the charity. You will manage a small technology team including web developers and Salesforce administrators, alongside managing our external IT support provider. You will champion the charity’s values and embody them in interactions with colleagues. You will be willing to learn and have a can-do attitude.
The role requires a driven and focused leader, with experience in managing the development of software. They will be an experienced technology professional, with a proven track record in scoping and managing technology projects, ensuring information security, and maintaining a keen interest in emerging technologies and industry trends. Candidates for this role should be comfortable working in a busy, efficient and high-performing team.

In addition, the service offers a range of wellbeing-focused activities, including peer support sessions, creative groups, and recovery-based programmes that encourage connection, self-expression, and resilience.
As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred support and interventions to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis within a hospital setting. You will work alongside clients throughout their time within the service, providing responsive, compassionate support that helps them feel safe, understood, and empowered. Through collaborative and recovery-focused practice, you will support clients to identify coping strategies, build resilience, and develop the confidence and resources needed to move forward safely once the immediate crisis has passed.
All support and interventions must be delivered in line with Hestia's values, the principles of recovery and co-production, and all relevant policies, procedures, and safeguarding requirements. What do I need to bring with me?
You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of issues affecting individuals with a wide range of mental health conditions and will be able to communicate and provide support with dignity and respect. They will be an effective team player who can also work independently, take initiative, and support the induction of new staff and volunteers. The role requires the ability to work confidently with statutory services, alongside excellent listening skills and strong verbal and written communication abilities. Candidates should demonstrate effective partnership‑building skills with both statutory and voluntary/community sector organisations, as well as experience in risk assessment, case management, and working under pressure in a dynamic environment. Strong organisational, prioritisation, and time‑management skills are essential, alongside good IT proficiency, including MS Word, Outlook, and internet use and solid literacy and numeracy skills. A good understanding of recovery tools, local mental health and wellbeing services, and safeguarding principles is also required, with the ability to address safeguarding concerns appropriately.
