As Senior Policy Officer, you will help shape and deliver this high‑impact cross-sector programme — ensuring the Academy convenes the right people, on the right issues, at the right time. In the next year, policy areas you will work on may include prevention and early detection, using clinical evidence to speed up translation from discovery to patient impact, inclusion of underrepresented groups in research, and the use of AI and data across biomedical sciences.

You will lead delivery of a portfolio of policy meetings and workshops, produce influential outputs, and manage relationships across the FORUM network. You will use evidence, stakeholder insight and sound judgement to support decisions about where the Academy should focus its convening power, helping us maximise our impact while maintaining the high standards and values that underpin our work.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape conversations across the life sciences and contribute to improving health through evidence-informed policy.

Age UK is recruiting for an Executive Assistant to the CEO and Chair to provide full high-level executive support to the CEO and Chair of Age UK, including diary management, handling correspondence and travel arrangements as well as providing full secretariat planning and support for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) meetings and assisting with preparations for Age UK Board meetings, including away days.

As a member of the Governance and Executive Support Team, you would play a key part in ensuring that information from SLT meetings flows through to others within the team so that they can effectively support the wider governance system of subcommittees, committees and the Age UK Board. You would also be expected to support and cover for the team as required.

This is a hybrid opportunity, a blend of homebased and office working. Our linked office for this role is in London (near Tower Hill). You will be expected to attend the office circa twice a month. Travel costs to the London office are not covered by the charity.

As Communications Manager, you will play a central role in shaping how London Youth engages with the audiences that matter most. Sitting within the Fundraising and Communications Directorate, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of London Youth's digital communications, ensuring our work, impact and voice reach young people, members, funders, partners and policymakers in compelling and meaningful ways. 

You will oversee London Youth's key digital channels, including social media, our website and newsletter marketing, ensuring they are engaging accessible and aligned with organisational priorities. Through strong editorial judgement, a creative mindset, and a clear understanding of our audiences, you will translate programmes, policy work and youth activities into clear, engaging communications that inspire action and strengthen London Youth's profile and influence. 

Working closely with colleagues across programmes, membership, policy, fundraising and our outdoor centres, you will help ensure the outcomes and impact of London Youth's work are effectively communicated throughout the year. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a well-regarded and innovative project contributing to achieving positive outcomes for some of the most vulnerable families in England and beyond whose sick children are being treated at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital (GOSH) We also provide an ‘open door’ service to our GOSH partners such as social workers and family support officers in our areas of expertise.

Our Young People’s Supported Housing Service is funded by Southwark Council to provide supported accommodation to care experienced young people (with the status as looked after children or care leavers), and/or young people at risk of homelessness within the North of the Borough:

• A 24-7 staffed 16 bed Ofsted registered supported housing project for young women aged 16-21.
• 40 bedspaces of accommodation across 10 properties, for young people aged 18-21 with visiting support.

Our properties are places of safety, Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE), from which we work with children and young people using person-led, holistic, trauma-informed and solution-focused approaches. We aim to provide accommodation and support that helps children and young people find self-worth and the belief that they deserve a better future, supporting them in safe, positive transitions including, where relevant, from care into more independent accommodation, and from childhood to adulthood; providing holistic support to gain essential life skills, achieve health outcomes, to realise and achieve their aspirations, and reach their full potential.

To join us you will need to demonstrate experience and understanding of the needs of children and young people, especially those leaving the care system and experiencing homelessness, including related issues of mental ill-health, trauma, abuse, alcohol and substance use and offending. You will have excellent inter-personal communication skills, including the ability to build effective professional relationships of trust with young people and professionals, and de-escalate potential situations of conflict. You will be able to provide holistic support to young people, including co-producing support and safety plans, and engaging in multi-disciplinary approaches. Our client is seeking interim leadership support to ensure stability, compliance, and continuity while enabling progress on key workstreams spanning culture, operational resilience, and organisational development. This role is predominantly focussed on supporting at a day-to-day operational level rather than being heavy strategic. Key HR responsibilities include overseeing HR operations, employee relations and union engagement, immigration and Visa sponsorship, policy and compliance, culture, EDI and wellbeing. On the operations side this will include supporting with Health & Safety Leadership, facilities & asset management, IT systems & digital capability, sustainability & carbon reduction and procurement.

The successful candidate will, first and foremost, have a broad understanding of HR having led HR functions previously. You will bring strong team leadership experience having managed HR employees previously. In addition, you will bring some experience and interest in supporting wider operations. As this role will be supporting the day to day running of the organisation you will need to be someone who enjoys the cut and trust of day-to-day tactical operations rather than a predominantly strategic role.

Job Purpose

As Operations Manager (OM), you’ll lead safe, high‑quality services, guide a committed frontline team, ensure compliance, strengthen partnerships, and drive performance across all operations; keeping our work moving from outreach and hotspot engagement to groups, community stalls, and the everyday moments where trust is built. As part of BUBIC’s commitment to meeting people where they are, the post holder will also share night‑outreach duties with the Team Leader, working one evening per week (5pm-midnight, typically Wednesday or Friday) to reach those most visible and vulnerable at night, enabling early intervention, safer engagement, and stronger pathways into support. Communications Assistant

• 15 hours per week at £15.00 an hour (Actual salary £11,700 - FTE £27,300)
• Hours may be worked flexibly over a minimum of 3 days a week
• Home based with occasional prearranged in person meetings

The Communications Assistant will provide hands-on support to the Communications Manager in the ideation, creation and delivery of our regular external communications. This includes helping to grow our social media following, creating and scheduling content, sourcing and designing images, providing copywriting support, and responding to comments across our channels. The role will also involve drafting and scheduling newsletters and providing administrative support with our databases.

This is a 15‑hour‑per‑week role, with the potential to grow in the future. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can spread their hours across the week to support consistent content delivery, but we are open to discussing alternative working patterns for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will have experience in a communications, marketing or social media role. They will be proficient in Adobe Illustrator and have basic video editing and/or animation skills. Strong copywriting skills and the ability to adapt tone of voice for different channels are essential, as is confidence using Mailchimp or similar email marketing platforms.

In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of live products and partnerships, acting as the escalation point for complex delivery issues and ensuring strong audit trails, regulatory boundaries, and continuous improvement. The team is based in the delightful surroundings of The Old Deanery in the City of London close to St Paul's Cathedral. The Old Deanery contains the offices of the Bishop of London and the Archdeacons of London, Charing Cross and Hackney and the staff work together to ensure a warm and generous welcome to all visitors.
There will be some flexibility to work remotely but because of the nature of the role please expect to work from The Old Deanery for the majority of the time.

This is an interim role for a period of 12 months.
