Place-Based Partnerships Manager

Salary: £42,000–£46,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Location: Home-based, with frequent travel across the North East, North West and Midlands. Preference for candidates based in one of these regions.

About the Role

Smallwood Trust is committed to advancing gender and economic justice by investing in place-based partnerships that support women experiencing poverty and financial insecurity. Through long-term funding, collaboration and shared learning, we work with local partner ships to bring about lasting change that improves the lives of women and their children.

The Place-Based Partnerships Manager will manage and develop relationships with a portfolio of partnerships across the country, supporting their work and helping them achieve their goals. The role will also contribute to shaping Smallwood’s approach to place-based working, using knowledge, experience and learning from local partnerships to inform our future strategy and practice.

Why Work for Us?

You'll be joining Smallwood at an exciting time as we expand our place-based partnerships and work towards our ambition of tackling gendered poverty.

We offer:

  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.

  • Flexible working arrangements.

  • 10% employer pension contribution.

  • Enhanced maternity and shared parental leave and pay.

  • Enhanced sick pay.

  • Learning and professional development opportunities.

  • A supportive and inclusive working environment.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is passionate about tackling women's poverty, enjoys building relationships and understands how local partnerships can bring about lasting change.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience of developing and managing partnerships and working with a range of stakeholders.

  • Experience of overseeing programmes, including budgets, performance and delivery.

  • Experience of place-based working and an understanding of systems change.

  • Strong communication, relationship-building and organisational skills.

  • The ability to bring organisations together, encourage collaboration and share learning.

  • The confidence to work independently, manage competing priorities and provide constructive challenge.
