Job description

Role Overview:

The Talent Set are delighted to be partnering with our client on two exciting opportunities within their Individual Giving team: Senior Acquisition Officer and Senior Retention Officer.

These roles offer a fantastic opportunity for experienced direct marketing and fundraising professionals to play a key part in growing and developing a charity’s supporter base, delivering impactful multi-channel campaigns and maximising fundraising income.

Whether your expertise lies in attracting new supporters or building lasting relationships with existing donors, both positions will see you developing compelling campaigns, using data and insight to drive performance, and working collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to deliver meaningful supporter experiences.

The Opportunities

Senior Acquisition Officer

In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of multi-channel acquisition campaigns, helping to attract new supporters and grow the charity’s income. You will work across digital, offline and telemarketing channels, with a particular focus on digital fundraising, including paid search and social media advertising.

You will manage campaign planning, budgets, creative development and supplier relationships, using performance data and KPIs to optimise activity and inform future acquisition strategies. Working closely with Data, Digital and Fundraising colleagues, you will ensure campaigns are effectively targeted, compliant and aligned with organisational objectives. You will also support the development of colleagues, helping to foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Senior Retention Officer (Individual Giving)

In this role, you will focus on strengthening relationships with existing supporters, developing retention and supporter development campaigns that encourage long-term engagement and maximise supporter lifetime value.

You will plan and deliver multi-channel communications, develop relevant supporter journeys and oversee campaign delivery from initial brief through to evaluation. Working with internal teams and external suppliers, you will create engaging materials, manage budgets and analyse campaign performance to identify opportunities for improvement. You will also play an important role in supporter stewardship, ensuring donors feel valued through thoughtful communications, effective relationship management and appropriate recognition, including for high-value supporters.

About You:

  • We are keen to hear from candidates with experience in direct marketing, individual giving or supporter engagement who are passionate about delivering effective, insight-led fundraising campaigns.
  • For both opportunities, you will bring:
  • Proven experience planning and delivering multi-channel direct marketing campaigns, ideally within a charity or fundraising environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, budgets, suppliers and deadlines.
  • Experience analysing campaign performance, interpreting data and using insights to improve results.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop compelling content and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, including an understanding of data protection and fundraising compliance.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach, with the ability to problem-solve and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A commitment to inclusive working practices and the ability to reflect the organisation’s values of respect, kindness and inclusivity.
  • For the Senior Acquisition Officer role, you will also bring demonstrable experience of supporter acquisition and knowledge of digital fundraising channels, particularly paid search, social media advertising and online acquisition.
  • For the Senior Retention Officer role, you will bring experience developing retention campaigns, supporter communications and donor journeys, with a focus on engagement, stewardship and long-term supporter value.

What’s on Offer:

  • Salary: £35,000–£38,000
  • Location: Hybrid working, London
  • Contract: Full-time and permanent
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to a charity’s individual giving programme, with the chance to specialise in either supporter acquisition or retention.

How to Apply:

If either opportunity sounds like the right fit for you, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your CV via the Apply Now button, demonstrating your suitability for the Senior Acquisition Officer role, the Senior Retention Officer role, or both.

Please do not apply via email. We aim to respond to successful candidates within 48 working hours.

Commitment to Diversity:

The Talent Set is committed to diverse and inclusive recruitment practices, ensuring equal opportunities for all applicants regardless of race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, disability or age. We actively encourage applications from people with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, and are happy to make reasonable adjustments to support a fair and accessible recruitment process.
