Transparency International (UK) is looking for an Advocacy Officer

You will be responsible for providing advocacy support to the UK Team, including by drafting and delivering high-level communications, participating in meetings with key stakeholders, and contributing to the planning and implementation of advocacy projects in relation to established objectives.

The Advocacy Officer will report to the Senior Policy Manager - Westminster and perform this within the UK Programme.

Main responsibilities

• Provide advocacy support to the UK Team to produce real-world change, including by drafting and delivering high-level communications (written and oral policy briefings, letters, blogs etc.) and participating effectively in meetings with key stakeholders (MPs, councillors, government officials, private sector allies, civil society colleagues etc.)

• Contribute to the planning and implementation of advocacy projects and events in relation to established objectives.

• Stay abreast of policy developments, news stories, political developments and new research in relation to our work, identifying possible advocacy opportunities for the team.

• Build and maintain positive and fruitful relationships with key stakeholders such as civil society and other partners, parliamentarians and government officials.

• Provide ad hoc programme support where needed, which may include providing administrative and logistic support in organising, planning, recording and coordinating meetings, providing follow-up support, as well as collecting monitoring, evaluation and learning data

• Contribute to the UK Team’s event planning and delivery, providing logistical support

• A track record of developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to produce change, ideally with parliamentarians, government officials or civil society organisations.

Charity People are seeking an experienced and confident Designated Safeguarding Lead to join a charity on an interim basis for six months. This is a vital role supporting adults across a wide range of community and specialist services. The postholder will provide expert safeguarding leadership, ensure safe practice, and offer guidance to staff working with vulnerable adults who present with complex needs. This position is required urgently due to the upcoming departure of our current safeguarding lead, so it would be ideal to have a handover period. There is potential for the role to evolve into a broader position as they continue to develop their approach across the organisation.

The Designated Safeguarding Lead will act as the first point of escalation for safeguarding concerns and provide clear, timely advice to staff and managers. The role combines day to day operational safeguarding oversight with longer term development of governance, compliance, and safe practice across services in Surrey. You will work closely with frontline teams, service managers, and the Director of Services to support safeguarding decision making, identify risk, and maintain consistent high standards across all services. This is a hands-on role that requires visibility, relationship building, and confidence working within a busy and diverse organisation.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide expert safeguarding advice on cases
• Oversee safeguarding processes, audits, compliance, and record keeping
• Support staff who may have lower confidence in managing safeguarding concerns
• Escalate cases appropriately to external agencies including MASH, Adult Social Care, and other statutory partners
• Attend key safeguarding meetings and represent the service within local networks
• Identify training needs and support the delivery of safeguarding training and refreshers
• Build relationships across all services and attend team meetings and reflective practice sessions
• Contribute to the development of safe practice across the organisation
• Offer resilience, guidance, and emotional support to staff dealing with complex or distressing cases

You will bring substantial safeguarding experience, ideally within adult services, and hold a minimum Level 3 safeguarding qualification. You will be confident in managing complex cases and navigating multi agency processes.

You will be comfortable working in fast paced environments, able to hold a mixture of reactive and proactive responsibilities, and bring resilience, sound judgement, and a calm approach when supporting staff and service managers. Experience in mental health, outreach, domestic abuse, trauma informed practice, criminal justice, or community support services will be an advantage.

You will bring:

• Significant safeguarding experience and confidence working with adults at risk
• Level 3 safeguarding qualification as a minimum (Essential)
• Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and statutory processes
• Ability to provide clear guidance and hold others to account
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly

You will have responsibility for managing the Fund’s digital live service on a day to day basis This includes ensuring it consistently meets business needs and user expectations. What will you be doing?

Our Research Officer will play a key pivotal in strengthening the evidence base for innovation across the UK’s justice systems. The role will have a particular focus on improving outcomes for women in the criminal justice system and for families in the family justice system, including through our work overseeing FDAC.

Undertaking qualitative and mixed methods research, you will draw out the voices of people with lived experience and frontline practitioners on issues like:

• Improving the treatment of women in the criminal justice system
• Joined up responses to domestic abuse
• Making sure that children and families involved in the family justice system have the right support.

Your duties will include:

• Undertaking qualitative and mixed-methods research projects
• Working with other team members to design research methodologies
• Carrying out fieldwork with people with lived experience, practitioners and other informants
• Drafting research reports and other research outputs
• Presenting your findings at events
• Working alongside our practice team to produce accessible evidence summaries for practitioners
• Working with our policy team to frame research findings to create policy change

AHF is seeking an England Development Manager (Heritage Revival Fund) to co‑lead our core grants and advisory programme across England. This role has been created following the recent announcement of significant new investment, which will support the expansion of the Heritage Revival Fund through to 2030. This investment will enable AHF, in partnership with DCMS and Historic England, to provide grants to hundreds of communities across England, helping them bring neglected historic buildings back into use.

Ideally based in southern or central England with focus on southern half of the country. The postholder will work jointly with the current England Development Manager (HRF), who will focus on the northern half of England. Together, they will oversee activity and workflow across the whole country. The role also includes joint management of the England grants team (who work remotely) and programme budget, working flexibly and collaboratively to ensure the successful delivery of AHF’s core programme.

We are looking for a candidate with strong experience across the key responsibilities of the role, including team management, programme budget oversight, and reporting. Ideally, they will bring a proven track record of leadership within the heritage or charitable sector. James’ Place London, Senior Suicide Prevention Therapist

Job Title: Senior Suicide Prevention Therapist

Salary: c.£38,000 per annum pro rata, plus 15% ILW

THE CHARITY

Suicide is the leading cause of death of men under 35 and three quarters of those who die by suicide are men. James’ Place exists to save the lives of men in suicidal crisis through delivering clinical services. We are a charity currently offering free, life-saving therapy to suicidal men at our centres in Liverpool, London and Newcastle.

James’ Place was set up by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley in 2008 after their twenty-one-year-old son, James, died by suicide ten days after a minor operation. James had no history of mental illness or depression and had sought urgent help for anxiety and suicidal thoughts but didn’t find it.   

James' Place was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. We offer men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected.  We provide a calm and peaceful environment both inside the centres and in our outside spaces, accessible to men who visit us as well as their friends and families. We have so far treated over 4,300 men who might otherwise have been unable to access the support they desperately need.

In early 2026 we will be opening our fourth centre in Birmingham. Our new centre in Birmingham will be there to support suicidal men living in the West Midlands.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Senior Suicide Prevention Therapist, you will work closely with the Head of Centre to provide strong clinical leadership and oversight while also delivering direct therapeutic work with men experiencing suicidal crisis and their supporter(s). You will play a key role in supporting the clinical team to deliver our unique intervention and to co-produce effective, individualised safety plans to help men remain safe.

This role requires an experienced mental health professional or therapist with a strong background in suicide prevention, excellent risk assessment and formulation skills, and demonstrable experience of supervision, line management, and leadership. Training, induction, and ongoing support will be provided by the Head of Centre and the wider James’ Place team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Senior Clinical Duties

· Work as a duty therapist to triage and assess suitability of James’ Place referrals daily

· Take full clinical responsibility of the men under James’ Place care, as a co-leader of the clinical team and in consultation with Head of Centre

· Lead and support peer support sessions, caseload discussions and reflective practice with the team

· Create an environment in which confidentiality, privacy and dignity are respected and be clear with clients about limits of confidentiality

· Deputise for the Head of Centre when required

Clinical

· Conduct initial Welcome Assessments with men in a suicidal crisis, assessing risk and the suitability of the James’ Place intervention and co-producing effective safety plans

· Deliver our therapeutic intervention, building trust and exploring the reasons for crisis

· Use the Lay Your Cards on the Table intervention to encourage men to talk about and explore their feelings, attitudes and behaviours and develop positive coping strategies

· Escalate care to appropriate services when necessary, including emergency services and secondary mental health teams

THE CHARITY

Suicide is the leading cause of death of men under 35 and three quarters of those who die by suicide are men. James’ Place exists to save the lives of men in suicidal crisis through delivering clinical services. We are a charity currently offering free, life-saving therapy to suicidal men at our centres in Liverpool, London and Newcastle.

James’ Place was set up by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley in 2008 after their twenty-one-year-old son, James, died by suicide ten days after a minor operation. James had no history of mental illness or depression and had sought urgent help for anxiety and suicidal thoughts but didn’t find it.   

James' Place was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. We offer men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected.  We provide a calm and peaceful environment both inside the centres and in our outside spaces, accessible to men who visit us as well as their friends and families. We have so far treated over 4,300 men who might otherwise have been unable to access the support they desperately need.

In early 2026 we will be opening our fourth centre in Birmingham. Our new centre in Birmingham will be there to support suicidal men living in the West Midlands.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are expanding our team of clinicians to deliver our clinically proven intervention at our James’ Place centre in London. As a Suicide Prevention Therapist, you will be an experienced mental health professional or therapist with demonstrable interest in suicide prevention. You will support men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis and their supporter(s), delivering our unique intervention and co-producing effective safety plans to maintain their safety. Training and support will be provided by the Head of Centre in London and the wider James’ Place team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical

· Conduct initial Welcome Assessments with men in a suicidal crisis, assessing risk and the suitability of the James’ Place intervention and co-producing effective safety plans

· Deliver our therapeutic intervention, building trust and exploring the reasons for crisis

· Use the Lay Your Cards on the Table intervention to encourage men to talk about and explore their feelings, attitudes and behaviours and develop positive coping strategies

· Take full clinical responsibility of the men under James’ Place care, as a member of the clinical team and in consultation with Senior Suicide Prevention Therapist and Head of Centre when needed

· Escalate care to appropriate services when necessary, including emergency services and secondary mental health teams

The Programme Operations team sits within WaterAid UK’s International Programmes Department (IPD), operating in 17 countries in Africa and Asia. Marketing and Communications Manager

Leatherhead, Surrey

About the role:

This Best Companies Top 50 mid-sized company and Top10 charity is looking to appoint an experienced Marketing and Communications Manager to lead and deliver marketing campaigns that will drive awareness of Rainbow Trust and support fundraising activity to strengthen our position as experts in children’s palliative care. This is a broad and exciting role which includes creating, developing and delivering the brand campaigns and communication strategies.

Reporting to the Head of Engagement, you will take the lead on generating creative, engaging content and ideas for fundraising and brand awareness campaigns that drive increased targeted engagement to showcase our work, build on our organisational strategy and deliver our fundraising ambition.

What we’re looking for:

· An experienced marketing and communications manager – you have a motivational engaging style, who can draw out information and ideas of others

· Lively and enthusiastic – you are outgoing, with a collaborative approach to achieving goals through knowledge-sharing and effective delegation. You are excellent at building rapport and developing good working relationships

· A multi-tasker with a sense of urgency for goal achievement – you work at a faster than average pace, delegating effectively with thorough follow-up, and are quick to learn

· An innovative, practical and creative problem-solver – you are a big picture thinker that responds quickly to varied activities and changing conditions. You will have experience in developing and delivering communication and media strategy

Age UK's Influencing division has a rare and exciting opportunity for a Public Affairs Manager to join our successful External Affairs team.

In this role you will manage a team of 3 people, develop and lead the delivery of Age UK's public affairs activity, to achieve our policy influencing aims and campaigns and maintain our high profile with the overarching aim of creating sustainable change for older people.

As the Public Affairs Manager you will develop and implement effective public affairs approaches that really hit home and produce results. To achieve this, you will work collaboratively with the rest of our high performing External Affairs team, other Age UK colleagues, our network of brilliant local Age UKs, and other charities and organisations that share our campaigning aims.

You'll need to understand how to influence decision-makers at a senior level and will have a proven track record of influencing policy change. You will bring political understanding and tactical insight on how UK Government and Parliament operate to ensure our campaigns and wider influencing have the biggest impact.

We operate a hybrid working model. We offer flexibility on working from home but require the applicant to be in our central London office a minimum of two days per week. Travel costs to the London office are the responsibility of the postholder and are not covered by the charity.
