Job Title: Operations Manager (Role availabel for immediate Start)
Reports to: Executive Director
Salary: NJC Scale SP SP27-31 £41,580 - £44,480 (starting salary dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-Time – 35 hours per week - (three days per week in office)
Main Objectives
· To oversee the smooth running of the Law Centre
· To ensure we have the right systems in place to support staff to work efficiently.
· To identify opportunities to use tech to support our mission.
· To lead on data, supporting us to tell our clients’ stories and to demonstrate the transformative nature of our work.
Key Responsibilities
1. IT Coordination
- Oversee the Law Centre’s IT systems to ensure they are secure, efficient, and meet the organisation's needs.
- Manage and develop the Law Centre's case management system to ensure it supports the effective delivery of services and reporting requirements.
- Liaise with external IT providers to coordinate maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting.
- Identify and implement opportunities for digital transformation and improved operational efficiency.
- Complete the annual Cyber Essentials return, ensuring that the organisation maintains the highest level of data security.
- Ensure the Law Centre makes use of the most appropriate and cost effective equipment, systems and software.
- Providing basic training to staff on systems and tools
- Maintain the asset register.
- Maintain the organisation’s IT plan and update it annually
2. Systems
· Lead on our paperless working processes
· Ensure that our Sharepoint site is set up logically and with the correct permissions in place.
· Develop our Sharepoint site in order that it functions as an intranet for sharing information internally.
· Negotiate and manage our contracts with printing providers
· Maintain regular reviews of the systems we’re using, assessing whether they are fit for purpose or not and whether there are alternative products which represent better value for money.
· Manage the organisation’s telephony.
3. Data and Reporting
- Maintain a clear overview of the data collected by the organisation.
- Prepare reports from the case management system and other data collection tools to feed into reports and funding bids.
- Develop new reports to feed into our billing and accountancy as well as various audits.
- Review and analyse the organisation’s data to understand trends and to assist with service development.
- Play an integral role in using data to communicate the impact of the organisation.
- Lead on setting up new projects, ensuring that we are collecting the right data at the right time
- Ensure that our systems support effective and efficient data collection and staff are trained in effective data collection.
4. Data Protection
· Overall responsibility for the data protection obligations of the organisation.
· Keeping abreast of changes and updates to Data Protection legislation.
· Delivering regular training to staff on Data Protection.
5. Finance and Billing
· Support the finance manager and practice manager by ensuring all systems are optimised for efficiency.
· Liaising with our payroll provider, responsible for running monthly payroll accurately, including keeping track of new starters and leavers.
· Support casework staff with training and technical solutions to allow them to bill files efficiently.
· When needed, to work with the finance manager and practice manager to coordinate regular payment runs.
· Attendance at regular meetings of the Finance Sub-Committee.
6. Support to Executive Director
- Member of the senior management team, contributing to strategic planning and organisational development.
- Provide operational insights and recommendations to enhance the Law Centre’s performance and service delivery.
- Coordinate and chair regular meetings of the IT Working Group
- Report regularly to the Trustees on operational issues
7. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including health and safety and data protection (GDPR).
- Participate in and ensure the smooth running of the annual Lexcel audit as well as other regular audits.
8. Professional Development
- To attend regular support and supervision and appraisal meetings.
- To keep up-to-date and to meet identified learning and development needs as appropriate.
9. Teamwork and Service Development
- To attend and contribute to staff meetings
- To attend and actively participate in other meetings as required, and to take an active role in the planning and development of the Law Centre.
- To network and liaise with external agencies as agreed.
10. General
- To uphold and promote the Aims and Principles of the Law Centre
- To be available to work outside normal office hours on occasion as required and notified in advance.

Person Specification
Essential
- Excellent IT skills with extensive experience working with Excel and other Microsoft Office products as well as database products.
- A minimum of two years experience in a similar role, or relevant transferrable skills.
- Ability to develop, maintain and report on data and compliance records, including the ability to impart information in an understandable way.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organised with the ability to set priorities, meet goals and evaluate processes and results.

About the role
We’re looking for a Statutory Fundraising Manager to lead and grow our statutory income at a pivotal time for Sense. Statutory fundraising is a key growth area, and this role will shape our approach to securing funding from government bodies, lottery funders and public sector partners.
Working closely with the Head of High Value Relationships, the CEO, and senior colleagues across operations and finance, you’ll develop and deliver a clear statutory fundraising strategy. You’ll collaborate with teams across the organisation to design compelling programmes, secure significant funding, and ensure excellent stewardship of our funders.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced statutory fundraiser who wants to see their work directly enable high-quality, person-centred services for disabled people with complex needs.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a statutory fundraising strategy to maximise income from government, NHS, lottery and public sector funders.
- Identify and secure new funding opportunities, including six-figure (and ideally seven-figure) grants.
- Lead the development of high-quality funding bids, working with senior leaders and operational teams to shape strong programme proposals.
- Manage relationships with statutory funders, acting as the main point of contact and overseeing all narrative and financial reporting.

About you

- Proven success securing income from statutory and lottery funders, including six-figure grants (seven-figure desirable).

Join Our Legal Office
The Legal Office is the in-house provider of legal services to the national policy-making and governance institutions of the Church of England (the National Church Institutions, "NCIs"), which are some of the largest charities in the UK (including statutory corporations and a Royal Charter corporation), the largest of which are the Archbishops' Council, a national policy and strategic decision-making body, the Church Commissioners, a substantial endowment fund with assets valued at £11.1bn (2024) which has positioned itself at the forefront of Responsible Investment and which supports the mission of the Church, and the Church of England Pensions Board which stewards a £3.4bn fund. About the role
As a member of the Legal Office Advisory Team, you will be providing legal services to the National Institutions of the Church of England, focused on giving legal advice across a diverse and interesting range of subjects which bear on the operations of the Church Commissioners and other parts of the national Church of England.

This two-year, fixed-term role is a key part of our strategy to reach groups who may not traditionally engage with IPSEA’s support - including children and families with English as an additional language, cared-for children (children in care), migrant children, detained children, and Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.
The project builds on a detailed scoping exercise we’ve recently completed, which involved working closely with a wide range of charities and organisations that support these communities. Job summary
Reporting to the head of growth and sitting within the engagement team you will:
- recruit volunteers by promoting Re-engage’s services,
- develop effective relationships with new and existing referrers such as social prescribers and community link workers
- identify and cultivate new, innovative referral pathways to connect with a broader demographic of seniors experiencing social isolation and loneliness
- support the wider Re-engage team in the delivery of our grant funded projects
Engagement officer tasks and requirements
- Growing and developing our network of referral partners, including social prescribers and link workers, ensuring that Re-engage's work is promoted to people aged 75+ who are experiencing social isolation and loneliness.
- Partnering with communities to create regular, volunteer led, social gatherings for people aged 75+
- Utilise Re-engage's CRM (OPUS) to inform evidence-based, data-driven decision-making to develop effective engagement plans.
- Working closely with the service delivery team ensuring that the right people are recruited and engaged into the right roles, in the right place, and at the right times.
- Collaborating with the communications team ensuring the widest possible publicity for the region’s needs through media and social media opportunities, local press, radio, TV, and online forums.
- Liaising closely with the fundraising team delivering against recruitment targets linked to grants.
- Working with the fundraising team on proposals and grant applications using regional knowledge, identifying local need, and collecting case studies.
- Identifying speaking and presenting opportunities ensuring that Re-engage's work is promoted to referrers.
- Working effectively as part of a regional team, maintaining, and growing all Re-engage services.
- Joint accountability, with colleagues in the region, for the engagement of older people and recruitment of volunteers into Re-engage's portfolio of services
- Carrying out any other reasonable tasks assigned to you by your line manager.
You’ll be a proactive, solution-focused person with passion and skill for networking and building relationships. You’ll be experienced at building and maintaining effective relationships with referrers and social prescribers and will be a flexible, hands-on team player, who will deliver Re-engage's strategic objectives, values, behaviours, and working practices.

- Experience of working to deadlines and meeting KPIs and targets
- A positive ambassador for Re-engage - committed to an organisation that challenges ageism, empowers volunteers and recognises and values diversity.
- Able to work your own initiative as well as collaboratively as part of a team
- A clear understanding of safeguarding systems and processes and of confidentiality and the implications of GDPR when working with volunteers and older people.
Desirable
- Experience of community engagement or sales, including online engagement.
- Experience working in a target-driven work environment
- Skilled at building and maintaining effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders from the statutory, commercial, and voluntary sectors to deliver results.
- Interested in learning about loneliness, social isolation, and factors that impact the ageing population.
- Understanding of volunteer journey, including recruitment and engagement.
- Full driving license and own car preferred as this post will require regional travel as and when required and the occasional overnight stay.
- Understanding of, and empathy with, the issues affecting older people who are isolated, and lonely.
