Internship
Job description

The Corporate Volunteer Intern will be the first point of contact for companies interested in organising employee volunteering days with Trees for Cities.

You will support the coordination of our corporate volunteering programme, from responding to enquiries and managing bookings to helping plan and deliver volunteering events. Working with colleagues across the organisation, you will maintain accurate records, prepare communications and help ensure corporate volunteers have a welcoming and rewarding experience.

This varied, hands-on internship combines office-based coordination with opportunities to support outdoor tree-planting and urban-greening activities. Training and support will be provided, helping you develop practical experience in project management, events, corporate partnerships, fundraising and urban forestry.

ABOUT TREES FOR CITIES

Trees for Cities is an ambitious, far-reaching organisation.

Trees for Cities is the only charity dedicated to improving lives by planting, protecting and promoting urban trees. We do this by working closely with communities, landowners, partners and funders to deliver transformational

change in towns and cities across the UK and overseas. We plant trees in schools, streets, estates, parks and open spaces to create nature-rich urban woodland, hedgerows, orchards, avenues and playgrounds. We are a rapidly growing and developing organisation that suits ambitious, dedicated and passionate staff.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for an organised, proactive and enthusiastic person who communicates confidently and enjoys working with a range of people. You’ll be able to manage different tasks and priorities, use your initiative and work effectively both independently and with colleagues.

You do not need a degree or previous experience in fundraising or the environmental sector. We value skills gained through paid work, volunteering, education, community activities, caring responsibilities and personal projects. You should be willing to learn, comfortable using standard IT systems and motivated by our work to create healthier, greener cities.

Trees for Cities is committed to the principles of equal opportunity. We value diversity and are committed to promoting diversity within the workplace. We aim to ensure that our employees achieve their full potential and that all employment decisions, including recruitment, are taken without reference to irrelevant or discriminatory criteria. A full copy of our Equal Opportunities Policy can be provided on request.
