The Fundraising Intern will support Trees for Cities’ fundraising activities while gaining practical experience across corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, major donors and supporter engagement. 

You will help research potential supporters, prepare fundraising communications and applications, maintain accurate records, respond to enquiries and support events, donor visits and corporate volunteering days. You will work with colleagues across the organisation and receive guidance and mentoring from experienced fundraising professionals.

About the role

Main tasks and responsibilities

Young people services

Providing comprehensive support through 1-1 and small group work with young people sleeping rough. This will include:

1. Working within the Rough Sleeping team to ensure young people receive a high-quality service from the point of registration to move-on.

2. Carrying out at least two street-based outreach shifts each week (early morning and late evening required).

3. Carrying out housing assessments with young people and referring them into appropriate accommodation.

4. Managing a transitional case load of young people and helping them move forward and access appropriate services.

Background Information and Purpose of Post

Media relations

The Head of Regional Fundraising is responsible for overseeing our team of Regional Fundraising Managers and Challenge Events team to maximise income from community groups and associations, businesses and individuals as well as leading the growth and diversity of the challenge events portfolio.

Movember's UK and Europe public fundraising operation is one of the most ambitious in the global movement. Hundreds of thousands of Mo Bros and Mo Sistas, a full calendar of endurance events, deep community partnerships across education, sport and workplace, and a year-round supporter engagement program that keeps people coming back long after November ends. Leading all of it takes someone exceptional.

As Director of Public Fundraising, UK and Europe, you'll own the strategy and delivery for community fundraising, endurance events, and all public fundraising activity across the region. You'll lead the local implementation of the Movember campaign, drive year-round retention and engagement of the Mo Community, and take an active role in shaping the broader UK and Europe Country Strategy. You'll also play a key part in Movember's European growth ambitions, helping to identify and unlock new markets and opportunities across the region.

People leadership is central to this role. The team has successfully influenced the law on microchipping, pet theft and commercial kitten sales in England and worked with the Scottish Government to regulate cat breeding and rehoming activities. The team also runs digital campaigns as part of its strategy.
