About the role and its purpose

· You will be responsible for Advantage’s income and business development activity

· You will lead a broad range of income generating activities and manage relationships with stakeholders

· You will be responsible for growing income from a variety of sources, income streams and relationships

· You will have a clear priority focus on converting pilot and seed-funded contracts to longer-term sustainable contracts and developing donations and project funding

Key tasks & responsibilities

Income generation

· Use your skills, creativity and experience to develop our income generation strategy

· Develop ideas for creative sponsorship and funding opportunities, putting together and submitting proposal and tender documents; identifying suitable partners; presenting proposals and closing deals

· Converting pilot and seed-funded contracts to longer-term sustainable contracts e.g. current Postcode Lottery agreement in the North-East converting to a long-term contract with North-East and North Cumbria ICB (more information to this can be given at interview stage)

· Support drawing up and negotiating contracts and ensuring delivery

· Work with stakeholders and our internal team to scope and develop exciting new opportunities

· Develop and steward fundraising and donor relationships in order to increase income

· Deliver on agreed income targets

Partnerships and Networks

· Build and maintain a network of strategic key external contacts that can support Advantage Mentoring’s work. Stakeholders will be from private, public and third sector groups. Take an active role in representing Advantage Mentoring to appropriate Trusts and Foundations

· Develop a work plan for private sector and philanthropic engagement to achieve a joined up and coherent approach to engaging with commercial organisations across multiple outcomes (financial, brand awareness, influencing policy and support-in-kind)

Communication, marketing and external relations

· Work with Communications colleagues to create materials that will attract new strategic partners, for example highly targeted work aimed at specific sectors being clear about the value of partnering with Advantage Mentoring

· Represent Advantage Mentoring with external audiences (in the media, at events, in meetings with senior stakeholders)

Strategic Leadership

· Develop and implement Advantage’s income generation strategy and policies, as a part of the Leadership Team

· Ensure that partner organisations understand and commit to our values

Management

· Oversee the business development pipeline and ensure that enough proposals are being submitted to make the achievement of income targets probable

· Provide income generation information to the Managing Director and participate in Executive Team meetings and Board meetings

· Report to the Board on income generation as required.

· Maintain a thorough understanding of financial targets and progress

· Work alongside the Head of Operations & Projects to make sure projects are properly initiated and well managed to ensure all contractual obligations are achieved

· Work closely with the PR/Comms Manager to support the awareness of the organisation’s work on a national and local level

Reporting

· Utilise the project bids pipeline spreadsheet and capacity spreadsheet to inform planning and resourcing

· Maintain an effective database of Grants, Trust and Foundation contacts

· Monitor digital income streams to ensure they are effective and opportunities are secured

· Work in collaboration with the communications team to build brand awareness, and promote income generation and impact developing content for key messaging, PR, and branding materials to support effective marketing of the organisation

· Design and develop key income generation materials to enhance our external visibility including extending our profile via submissions for awards and recognition programmes

· Plan and support events for awareness raising and dissemination of our work

· Ensure systems and processes for managing data comply with the organisation’s data protection obligations, charity law and GDPR

· Develop robust systems for the effective stewardship and reporting to supporters of our work

Grant Finance Officer - French speaking

Location: Vauxhall, London (minimum of 1 day per week in the office)

Position Overview

As Grant Finance Officer, you'll play a vital role in supporting the financial management of grant-funded programmes across West Africa. You'll work closely with programme teams and international partners to ensure budgets are accurate, finances are properly tracked, and donors receive timely, compliant reports. Responsibilities 

· Liaise with programme coordinators and West African partners to establish, review and monitor budget forecasts throughout project lifecycles

· Receive, review and verify monthly financial reports from partners, checking accuracy and identifying discrepancies

· Collect and review supporting evidence for all expenditures, ensuring compliance with donor requirements

· Support partners in maintaining accurate project budgets and resolving budget-related queries

· Review quarterly financial forecasts and assist in preparing comprehensive finance reports for donors

· Prepare grant modification requests when budget changes are needed, liaising with donors as required

· Maintain and update budget trackers, working alongside the Grant Finance Coordinator

Interim Clerk of Works

The Role

An established housing provider is seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to support the delivery of major works and remediation projects across a residential portfolio.

The role provides on-site quality assurance, ensuring works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, building regulations, and recognised best practice. You’ll act as an independent quality presence on site, helping to drive compliance, raise standards, and resolve issues early.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake regular site inspections on major works and remediation schemes
• Monitor quality of workmanship and materials against drawings, specifications, and statutory requirements
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, fire safety standards, and approved details
• Identify defects, non-compliances, and quality risks, escalating issues where necessary

Job Purpose

We’re looking for a Philanthropy Assistant to join the St Mungo’s fundraising team. You’ll support our Philanthropy function, which drives engagement and income from more than 300 individual philanthropists.

This is an exciting time to join us, with a renewed focus on identifying new supporters and securing donations that make our ambition of ending homelessness a possibility.

As Philanthropy Assistant, you will help the High Value and Major Donor team grow our portfolio, strengthening relationships with existing supporters, inspiring increased giving, and working with engaged donors to connect us with their networks.

• Creating tailored communications for philanthropy supporters, including email updates, content planning, and high‑quality donor materials.

In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in London. While our Central Office is currently based in Tower Hill, London we plan to relocate in the summer of 2026 to a new space in Farringdon, London.

About the role

As a Research Grants Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the research funding cycle, from application and peer review through to award management and post‑award administration. You’ll work closely with the Research Grants Manager, internal teams, external experts, and funded researchers to maintain high standards of governance, transparency, and impact across all our research funding activities.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the development, implementation, and management of Macmillan’s research grants programme.
• Create, update, and publish key documentation for each funding round.
• Coordinate expert review panels, including scheduling, logistics, and budget oversight.
• Provide secretariat support for funding panels, including preparing papers, taking minutes, and compiling applicant feedback.
• Manage post‑award processes such as grant agreements, financial tracking, and change requests.
• Monitor reporting compliance and work with Finance to ensure accurate expenditure records.
• Act as the primary point of contact for funded academics, supporting timely reporting and dissemination of research outputs.
• Work with the Communications team to promote research findings and their impact.
• Support internal and external events to strengthen the research community.
• Represent Macmillan at academic conferences and sector events.

About you

The successful candidate will bring:

• Experience in research administration or grant management within an academic, charity, or funding organisation.
• Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with experience interpreting data and maintaining accurate records to support effective monitoring of funded projects.
• Experience of providing secretariat support for committees or panels
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and confidence working with a range of stakeholders.
• An understanding of research funding processes and a willingness to learn and develop within a growing research function.

About this role

Our Global Programmes Department (GPD) works on an innovative partnership model to deliver our mission to transform the welfare of working animals in a world where animals, people and the environment are respected and thrive. 

This exciting role will join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to support an ambitious work plan by scoping, defining and advancing key new project areas and strategic initiatives. The Special Projects Manager will work closely with our international partners and the wider organisation and will report to our Head of Programmes.

The successful candidate for this role will work on a diverse and exciting range of projects. The projects will seek to expand our impact through developing innovative approaches to achieving sustainable improvements in working animal welfare. These might include: 

• exploring options for social business models, and assessing how they can be best applied to animal welfare in low-income settings 

• scoping and developing synergistic partnerships with development sector actors 

• country-specific analysis on specific challenges to working animal welfare in complex situations. 

The Special Projects Manager will scope and analyse different project areas, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and commissioning and overseeing subject matter experts, as needed, to progress different areas.

This role would suit an experienced, innovative and creative project manager who enjoys strategic analysis of complex scenarios with different stakeholders, interests and actors. Experience of research, policy and working across sectors would be an asset, alongside a commitment to social equity and our mission and values. 

Contract, location and salary

Job Coaching

Role Overview

The Tower Project’s award-winning JET Service is seeking a passionate and skilled Disability Employment Adviser to help transform the employment prospects of adults and young people with learning disabilities and autism.

This is a varied community-facing role combining personalised employment support, employer partnership working and in-work coaching. You will manage a caseload of aproximatley 25 clients at different stages of their employment journey and work collaboratively with colleagues, employers and referral partners to create meaningful employment opportunities.

You will be supported by the Employment Support Team Lead and will play an important role in delivering positive, measurable outcomes for individuals across East London.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

IAG and Employment Support

You will act as the key adviser for a cohort of clients, delivering high-quality, person-centred employment support that leads to sustained paid outcomes.

• Build positive working relationships with referral partners including the Community Learning Disability Team, education providers and local support organisations.
• Complete vocational profiling, better-off calculations and personalised support plans focused on employment aspirations.
