As HR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering and overseeing the Foundation’s people strategy as it enters an exciting period of growth, including the expansion of key programmes, reaching new audiences and a major capital project. The role will be initially office-based throughout the probation period, moving to a hybrid arrangement of four days per week in the office thereafter.

We are looking for an experienced HR generalist with substantial experience of supporting employees and senior managers within a small to medium-sized organisation. You will have a strong understanding of UK employment law and practical experience of delivering effective recruitment, onboarding and performance management processes, alongside the ability to develop well-researched recommendations on HR policy and practice. Excellent interpersonal, influencing, written and interviewing skills are essential, as is the ability to remain calm, objective and organised when managing sensitive or competing priorities. You will be proactive, collegiate and comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment, with a genuine commitment to Freelands Foundation’s mission to champion art education and a belief in the intrinsic value of art. Report to: Head of Food Distribution and Volunteering

Responsible for: Leading the food distribution service and quality assurance at Hackney Foodbank’s allocated Food Distribution Centres located across the borough of Hackney. This includes ensuring all our visitors have a positive experience when collecting their food parcels and are signposted to other provisions appropriately; being responsible for directing the volunteers; Overseeing Health and Safety, and promoting best practice at each centre. This role will also involve administrative tasks, organising and carrying out home deliveries for visitors, inputting data on visitors’ journeys accurately into a database, driving the Hackney Giving Van or a Luton van to the various Distribution Centres.

Part-time: 25 hours per week, some evening work is required

· Attend Hackney Foodbank’s Food Distribution Centres to ensure each Centre is run in accordance with HFB’s best practice procedures.

Solace exists to end the harm done through gender-based violence. We work to prevent violence and abuse, and provide services to meet the individual needs of survivors, particularly women and children. Our work is holistic and empowering, working alongside survivors to achieve independent lives, free from abuse.

About the Service Solace has launched a new five-year fundraising strategy, with plans to double fundraised income to £3m by 2031. This income plays a pivotal role in the financial wellbeing of the charity, enabling us to do more to support the thousands of women and children who access our services each year.

The Fundraising Team sits within our Business Development Directorate alongside Communications, Partnerships and Public Affairs. Working collaboratively across the organisation, the team engages with colleagues, senior leaders, trustees, volunteers and our lived-experience-led Shadow Board to maximise income and impact.

About You

You will be collaborative, creative and solution-focused with the ability to support an unrestricted fundraising strategy that drives income generation through our External Training and Consultancy Function and through identifying and fostering productive partnerships with corporate organisations.

With a knowledge and an understanding of corporate fundraising, sales, customer service and campaigns and ideally some experience of the statutory sector, you will support fundraising initiatives to develop Solace’s External Training and Consultancy Function and Solace’s Corporate Partnership Programme. Working closely with the Senior Corporate Partnership and Training Manager, the Philanthropy Manager and the Individual Giving Fundraising Officer, you will bring a confidence in client and stakeholder facing initiatives that drive income generation.

However, your interpersonal skills, passion to have a positive impact, commitment to our purpose, and ability to learn quickly and collaborate effectively will be equally important. 

Additional Information

This is a part time post at 18.75 hours per week and this is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. The successful candidates are normally appointed at the entry point of the salary band.

We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Health & Safety & Compliance Manager to help shape and lead our approach to health and safety, compliance

This is a newly refocused role that offers the opportunity to make a significant impact across a unique organisation that combines higher education, creativity and live performance activity. Working closely with senior leaders, operational teams and governors, you will play a key role in embedding best practice, improving oversight and strengthening organisational assurance.

What you will be doing

You'll work across the organisation to provide specialist expertise, leadership and coordination in health and safety, compliance and governance activities.

• Developing and embedding consistent health and safety processes across departments.
• Improving and standardising risk assessments and risk management practices.

What we're looking for

We're interested in people who can bring specialist expertise alongside a collaborative and pragmatic approach. You may be working in education, the arts, facilities management, healthcare, local government, housing, the charity sector or another complex operational environment.

You will bring:

• Significant experience in health and safety management
• Experience working in complex multi-stakeholder environments such as arts, education, charity, public sector, healthcare, housing, leisure or commercial organisations would be beneficial
• NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) essential
• Knowledge of estates compliance around fire safety, water hygiene, statutory inspections, PUWER and LOLER
• IOSH qualification desirable if supported by substantial practical experience
• Experience managing compliance, governance or risk-related processes.
• Experience supporting or leading audits and compliance reviews.
• Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and risk register management.

War on Want is a radical charity working in solidarity with grassroots movements and organisations around the world to fight the root causes of poverty, inequality and injustice. We campaign against corporate power, economic exploitation and systems of oppression that drive poverty and human rights violations.

We are seeking a consultant with significant experience in partnership-building, programme design and development and resource mobilisation to support the growth of our international partnerships and movement-building work.

Working with War on Want staff and our existing partners, the Consultant will identify opportunities for collaboration with labour, feminist and social movement organisations in the Global South (primarily South Asia and Africa). They will develop partnership-centred programme concepts and position these to  fundraise with relevant philanthropic donors and identify  funding opportunities.

The Consultant will be part of the International Partnership Programmes Team, working closely with our Senior Fundraising Officer and, where relevant, Senior Campaign Officers. We are looking for a consultant who can commit to working alongside the team on a part-time (2 to 3 days per week average as a guide) basis for between four to six months.
