Job Description

To provide professional, efficient, and effective database management and administrative support to our team. This role sits at the heart of the organisation, supporting all departments through effective office coordination and helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the charity.  The role is instrumental in maintaining a high-quality database, enabling accurate data capture and analysis that supports both fundraising and programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Database Management (Beacon CRM – Fundraising Database)

• Manage and maintain the CRM system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date fundraising and programmes data entry.  Accurately processing all incoming donations and pledges and ensuring others in the team correctly enter and maintain data.
• Develop overall data management structure of supporter records and processes.  Develop and maintain information management structures in the CRM system to enable accurate and timely information and reporting.
• Adhere to data protection legislation ensuring the way we gather, record and use data is compliant with latest policies, working closely with the Data Protection Officer.
• Handle all enquiries received through the CRM system, providing timely and appropriate responses.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth operation and optimal use of the CRM system.
• Generate reports and analytics from the CRM system to track and measure key metrics.
• Conduct regular data audits to identify and rectify any inconsistencies or errors in the CRM database.
• Training staff members on how to effectively use the CRM system.
• Customise and configure the CRM system to meet the specific needs of the organisation.
• Monitor and enhance data quality and integrity within the CRM system.
• Keep abreast of CRM system updates and new features to maximize its functionality.

Operations Administration

• Provide administrative support to the organisation.
• Managing enquiries received by the charity by post, email, and phone.
• Keep a tidy office environment.
• Maintain data management processes and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security.
• Manage and update filing systems, and other organisational documents.
• To be main day to day contact for our external IT support contractors and cleaning contractor.

Finance Administration

• Provide administrative support to the Finance team ensuring a system is in place to regularly reconcile the fundraising and finance databases.
• Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily financial transactions.

• Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Provide support during financial audits and examinations

Job Description

The Director of Finance and Operations (DFO) will play a crucial role in realising our ambitious plans as a charity. The postholder will be a member of our Senior Leadership Team (SLT), along with the CEO, Director of Development, Director of Programmes and Director of Fundraising and Communications. The DFO role is responsible for overseeing the financial health, operational effectiveness, and organisational infrastructure of the charity, ensures that the charity operates efficiently, ethically, and in compliance with all regulatory and fiduciary requirements. This role blends strategic financial leadership with hands-on operational management and is critical to enabling the charity to achieve its charitable programme as well as provide long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Management

• Provide strategic financial leadership, including long-range financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Develop and manage the organisation’s annual operating and capital budgets in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Manage the accounting functions, including payroll and pension, and month-end and year-end close.
• Prepare and present timely, accurate financial reports to the SLT, Finance and Investment Sub- Committee, and Board of Trustees.
• Monitor cash flow, reserves, and investments to ensure financial stability and liquidity.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, funder requirements, and nonprofit accounting standards.
• Lead annual audits and coordinate with external auditors.

Operations & Organisational Management

• Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficient systems, processes, and internal controls.

• Oversee facilities, technology, and vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effectiveness and reliability.

Human Resources & Administration

• Oversee HR operations, including payroll, benefits administration, employee policies, and compliance with employment laws.
• Partner with leadership on workforce planning, compensation strategy, and organisational design.
• Support performance management systems and contribute to a positive, inclusive organisational culture.
• Ensure onboarding, offboarding, and personnel record management processes are effective and compliant.

Leadership & Strategy

• As a key member of the senior leadership team, contributing to organisational strategy and decision-making.
• Advise the SLT and Board on financial and operational implications of strategic initiatives.
• Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor finance and operations staff, fostering professional development and accountability.

You hold a critical and integral role for the growth and development of the DEC’s website and digital marketing, taking an audience and insight led approach to innovation and supporter engagement. The role builds on various workstreams, projects and innovation processes that have been developed in recent years.

You will be digitally astute with expertise in paid media and digital product development, and a confident communicator, who project manages with ease and leads and engages with diverse internal & external stakeholders to develop an effective, responsive and agile approach to fundraising and supporter engagement in the digital environment. You must have demonstrable knowledge of UX principles and tools, a working knowledge of Drupal (or equivalent CMS), HTML and CSS, and excellent knowledge of digital analytics, particularly Google Analytics and social platform analytics.

Key Responsibilities for this role, include:

Website Management: Act as Product Owner, oversee roadmap, UX testing, security, hosting, and SEO.

Digital Fundraising: Manage paid search, social media, programmatic advertising, and evergreen campaigns; optimise performance and ROI.

Innovation & Strategy: Develop new digital tools, lead AI strategy group, drive product development from ideation to MVP, and foster a culture of innovation.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate across teams, manage external agencies, and lead digital collaboration with member charities.

Financial & Risk Management: Oversee £100k+ budgets, ensure compliance, report on performance, and mitigate digital risks.

Digital & Innovation Strategy and ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards, maintaining best practices in equality and accessibility.  Design and deliver programmes that build awareness and capability around inclusive behaviours.

Data & trends: Monitor, analyse, and report on D&I metrics to measure progress and inform future actions. Stay ahead of trends, lead new initiatives, and represent the organisation in external forums to promote our commitment to inclusion.

Essential Experience, Knowledge and Competencies:

• Prior experience of working in a similar role (min 2 years)

About the role

The Reaching the Last Mile Fund (RLMF) expansion project is a six-year, $500m programme that will progress the elimination of onchocerciasis (OV) and lymphatic filariasis (LF) in Africa. In 2026, Sightsavers is working with Ministries of Health to implement RLMF funding in ten countries, with RLMF supporting work in 34 in total. Sightsavers chairs the Systems Strengthening Committee, and under this committee a new package of activities focusing on increasing laboratory capacity for OV detection has been approved for 2026. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and coordinate this work package.

As Project Manager for RLMF laboratory capacity building, you will provide all aspects of project management support and coordination for the 2026 laboratory capacity strengthening workplan; including working closely with and providing support to the Laboratory Technical Advisor for RLMF, ensuring all tasks and activities progress and providing reports of this progress to colleagues, the donors and the RLMF Systems Strengthening Committee.

This role will suit an experienced and proactive Project Manager with exceptional coordination and management skills, who has previously supported delivery of a large-scale workplan within a multi-organisational programme and has experience of International Development, public health or Neglected Tropical Diseases.

About you 

Essential

• Extensive demonstrable experience managing multi-organisational projects within International Development, Public Health or similar.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Experience of communicating with and reporting to internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent analytical and IT skills.
• Strong analytical, writing, editing and verbal skills for communicating with broad and diverse stakeholders.
• Effective as a collaborator in complex internal and external organizations.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills 
• Good inter-personal and relationship management skills
• Knowledge and behaviours that support equality, diversity and inclusive practice
• Able to prioritise and manage competing tasks and deadlines across workstreams and countries
• Able to work largely without supervision (but within a team)
• Willingness to undertake periodic travel for meeting attendance.
• Fluency in English

Desirable

• Project management qualification(s).
• Experience with onchocerciasis, NTDs, or work with African Health Systems
• Experience of working as part of a multi-organisational team
• French language skills
• Understanding of research governance and ethical principles particularly in relation to research with vulnerable people

The Role: 
•    This role will champion conservation and strategic aims of the Woodland Trust through our communication networks ensuring an audience led approach alongside reporting on performance.

•    This role is a part time 12 Month Fixed Term Contract working 15 hours per week.
•    This role includes a mix of working from home and at our main office in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Visits to Grantham would be required no more than once a month on average.

•    Experience supporting with monthly budgets and working with the Marketing and Communication Manager to track and report on budgets.
•    This role requires travel around the UK, so you need to have a clean UK driving licence.
