The Youth Adventure Trust's outdoor challenge events are a vital source of funding for the charity, and the relationships we build with our participants and corporate partners are more important than ever. This is where you come in.

As our Challenge Events Manager, you'll be the driving force behind our exciting challenge events portfolio.You'll work on bespoke corporate team-building challenges, high-energy industry networking events like the Hike Bike Paddle for the sports and outdoor sector and the Housebuilders Challenge, and our popular open events like the Wiltshire 3 Peaks Challenge and the Somerset Cycle. 

Challenge events not only enable people to raise amazing sums for the charity, but are also a fantastic way to engage supporters with our work, giving them the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, embrace the outdoors and achieve things they never thought possible - similar to our work with the young people on our programmes.

The Challenge Events Manager role is a varied position which would be perfect for somebody who has event management experience. You will be responsible for the full event cycle, from the initial planning, participant recruitment and stewardship to on the day event delivery and post event follow ups. You will be somebody who can spot opportunities, take on a project and run with it. You’ll be an excellent communicator, happy to pick up the phone to chat to event participants, deliver pre-event webinars or create engaging participant emails. You’re self-motivated, well organised, able to multi-task, a strong administrator, a fantastic team player, have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy being outdoors.

You'll work closely with the Corporate Partnership Manager, who is highly experienced in delivering our challenge events, but needs time to develop new corporate partnerships which is why we have created this new role. You'll also line-manage our Events Fundraising Officer who plays a key support role on the events.

About You

You’re a people-person, self-motivated and highly organised. You are as comfortable managing a budget and a CRM database as you are standing on a mountain side in your waterproofs! You’ll have:

• Event Expertise: A proven track record in delivering successful fundraising or challenge events.

• Agility: The ability to think on your feet and adapt plans dynamically when situations change on the ground.

• Leadership Skills: Experience managing staff or volunteers and the ability to motivate a team.

At the Youth Adventure Trust, we use outdoor adventure to empower vulnerable young people from Swindon, Wiltshire and Somerset to fulfil their potential and lead positive lives in the future. We work with them to build resilience, develop confidence and learn skills that will last a lifetime, helping them to face the challenges in their lives. Dedicated support, guidance and mentoring from our staff and volunteers ensures young people receive the maximum benefit from our long-term intervention. Our aim is to make a lasting improvement to the lives of vulnerable young people. We are seeking an experienced and proactive professional People Advisor to join our People and Culture team. Summary of the role:

The Community Fundraising Assistant (Ramadan Campaign) plays a crucial role during Ramadan. The role provides critical support in fundraising collections and events.  The role will involve working occasional unsociable hours (weekends and evenings) and national travel, sometimes at short notice, during the Ramadan period to maximise our income generating opportunities.

About the Role:

1. The main responsibilities of the role are lister below.  Other tasks may be assigned on an ad hoc basis in support of our Ramadan fundraising activities.
2. Attend mosques and Islamic institutions to collect donations and pledges in response to Muslim Aid’s appeals, supporting mosque collections through fundraising, data capture, and donor engagement.
3. Set up and break down fundraising events, assisting with event setup, registration, and coordination across multiple venues.
4. Provide administrative and logistical assistance before, during, and after events to ensure smooth and efficient delivery.
5. Assist in the logistical coordination of Muslim Aid’s Live Appeals, helping to ensure all operational and support activities run effectively.
6. Support and assist volunteers in running and managing fundraising activities, providing guidance and ensuring a positive experience for supporters.

The Nuffield Foundation is an independent charitable trust with a purpose to advance social well-being through research. The Project Manager will then work with stakeholders across the organisation to develop an implementation plan for agreed measures.

In addition to this, there are other projects and initiatives that the Project Manager has the opportunity to support depending on their skills and experience. This might include, for example, developing and managing the Foundation’s outreach plan, shaping our approach to supporting Early Career Researchers from backgrounds under-represented in research careers, and actions that develop and sustain our relationships with the Black researcher community. 

As well as your experience of working in grant giving organisations, you will be a skilled project manager, with responsibility for scoping, planning, managing dependencies, risk assessment and budget. You will have a strategic view of the need to align and balance our activities to improve the fairness of our grants processes with other organisational priorities.

You will also have excellent stakeholder management skills, working with stakeholders from across the organisation (and at different levels of seniority) to ensure that appropriate collaboration and consultation have informed this review.

You will be familiar with other research funders and networks, be able to work proactively and independently, and be enthusiastic about how equity, diversity and inclusion can be embedded into all areas of your work.

BCT's work has helped deliver one of the UK’s consistent conservation success stories for several bat species although we recognise that there is still a long way to go before our 18 resident bat species recover from historical declines. We are recruiting for a Legacy Partnerships Officer to join on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week on a fixed term contract for 9 months. This is a home-based role, though you will need to be based in the Midlands, North East or North West of England, or Northern Ireland AND be willing to travel across that area for events as required.

As the Legacy Partnerships Officer (North) you will represent Alzheimer’s Society, raise our profile, and promote legacy giving to our Will writing partners and legal professionals to secure future income for the charity. As a SHPS Housing Coach you will be working with individuals to prevent or relieve homelessness by sourcing affordable, suitable and sustainable private rented sector accommodation. You will also help individuals to address any other support needs they may have which are a barrier to achieving their goals and ending their homelessness by linking them with relevant agencies. This role requires skilled delivery of a range of interventions and a passion for working with those who face multiple disadvantages in society. We welcome candidates who can bring enthusiasm to learn, transferrable skills and/or have housing experience.

To be successful in this role you will have transferrable skills and/or housing experience and can demonstrate skills and values in the following areas:

• Supporting people to prevent and relieve homelessness (through assessments, housing people, negotiating with landlords, advice and support to sustain tenancies)
• Demonstrating a pro-active and solution-focused approach to supporting individuals overcome barriers they are facing around housing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and results focused environment.
• Liaising and negotiating with a range of stakeholders effectively to achieve the best possible outcome for the people you work with (landlords, accommodation providers, local authorities, DWP, etc.).
• Actively contribute to sourcing suitable and affordable accommodation
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and administrative skills to manage a client caseload and own workload.
• You are pro-active and adaptable, uphold the dignity of all individuals you work with and demonstrate a willingness to follow best practice and a clear resolve to end homelessness.
