Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organization that puts people first. We support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries, restore ocean life and build lasting pathways to prosperity. Our work began two decades ago in Madagascar’s remote coastal communities and is growing globally. 

Across a dozen countries, we’re partnering with traditional fishers and community organizations to design, scale, strengthen and sustain fisheries management and conservation at the community level. We bring partners together in networks to advocate for reform, and share tools and best practices to support fishing communities across the globe. 

Summary job description

This role is for a Data Protection Officer (DPO) to ensure Blue Ventures meets its obligations under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the UK Data Protection Act 2018. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer/Chair of the Board of Trustees, the statutory DPO will monitor compliance and data practices internally to ensure the organisation and its functions comply with the applicable requirements under the GDPR/DPA 2018. The DPO will be responsible for staff training, data protection impact assessments, and internal audits. The DPO will also serve as the primary contact for supervisory authorities and individuals whose data is processed by the organisation.

You will thrive in environments that are collegiate and ambitious, and be able to demonstrate experience of working independently and solving complex problems in challenging situations.

In this role, you will work closely with the Legal, Compliance, Public Policy, and Information Security functions to develop and monitor policies and standards applicable to the business in compliance with the GDPR/DPA 2018 and other regional legislation in countries BV operates in.

Forcesline is a free and confidential helpline that provides emotional support and a listening ear to those in the Armed Forces Community who are dealing with financial difficulties, loneliness, isolation or are in some other way struggling to cope with everyday life.

About the role

This role responds to contact made via the Forcesline helpline, which provides a non judgemental welfare support service for serving, ex-service personnel and their families by way of telephone, Webchat and email with potential for other technology in the future.  Enquiries include requests for information, practical assistance and emotional support. Our callers are often emotional, frustrated and in many cases, struggling to see a way forward in their lives.

Working hours are 09.00 – 17.30 to reflect the opening hours of the helpline.

About the team

You will work with a great team of advisors who are both experienced and skilled at what they do. All Forcesline Welfare Advisors receive the necessary training for their role including Safeguarding, Data Protection, Diversity and Inclusion and most have a Level 2 Counselling qualification or above. Their experience covers former Samaritans, Pastoral Care workers, Social Work plus Police Officers and Despatchers. As a team they learn and support one another as well as receiving the support SSAFA can offer more widely.

About you

You will have had experience in delivering welfare support to others, and ideally this has been gained through a helpline. You will need to be technically competent with IT equipment, as most of this work will be done virtually through digital means often under high pressure situations. Ideally you will also hold, or be willing to work towards a counselling qualification at level 2 or above.

About the role 

The role of the Partnerships Engagement Officer is to work closely with our partners and colleagues across Future Frontiers to support the smooth delivery of our programmes and share stories and impact information through a variety of communications channels. This role is key to delivering our work and making a lasting difference for young people from under-resourced backgrounds on their education and career journeys. 

The Partnerships Engagement Officer helps manage vital relationships with volunteers, schools and businesses, and acts as a first point of contact for onboarding queries. This role also helps to promote our partnership activities through producing and sharing marketing and communications content, such as LinkedIn posts and impact reports. 

Your responsibilities:

Set up and enable successful programmes 

• On-board volunteer coaches, including processing DBS checks online and manually, and responding to queries from coaches

• Manage the volunteer onboarding journey, including making any improvements based on feedback

• Maintain accurate records, including creating and updating coach and pupil records on the Salesforce database

• Create impact reports for partners to illustrate the difference they have made and encourage partnership expansions and renewals 

• Alongside the wider Partnerships team, support partners with their fundraising and employee engagement activities for Future Frontiers as needed 

Stakeholder engagement, marketing and communications

• Manage the Future Frontiers LinkedIn account, including working with the Partnerships team to develop a proactive plan to fit with our calendar and priorities, and creating content as needed

• Use templates and brand guidelines to create materials and communications for Partnerships audiences which align with Future Frontiers’ brand and convey core messaging 

• Produce assets and materials in a range of formats to support priority projects and activities with partners

About the Role 

The Government & Multilateral Partnership Lead is responsible for leading and developing partnership strategies to secure and deliver high impact partnerships. The role will lead on managing key stakeholder relationships with our partners and will work in close collaboration with Country Offices, SCI and other Members to ensure the implementation of global partnership strategies. As Executive Assistant with Clean Air Fund you would support both the Executive Director of Breathe Cities & the Director of Breathe Cities - who are part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). As the Executive Assistant (EA), working alongside the Senior Executive Assistant and Support Manager (SEA&SM), and CEO Office team, this role ensures the Directors and their teams are supported to work efficiently and effectively and that team projects are facilitated to run smoothly. You would be responsible for diary management, which includes a lot of complex international travel and coordinating the preparations for high-profile international events. Job Purpose:

Main Duties and Tasks:

Administration

• Support the Community Fundraising Team with the administration of bespoke, third party and donor led events. Including (but not limited to) sending packs and resources out, communication of event information and appropriate thanking.
• Manage the Community Fundraising email inbox.
• Diarise Community Fundraising team meetings, take appropriate minutes and distribute actions.
• Manage the Community Fundraising shared drive and filing system.

Stewardship

• Be the first point of contact for on-line giving donors and monitor the online giving platforms including JustGiving and ensure that each donor has relevant communications.
• Manage the donor led event diary, providing appropriate resources where required.

Reporting

• Produce regular financial and fundraising reports on various Community Fundraising Income streams using the Charity CRM (Salesforce).
• Monitor Community Fundraising income and check it’s appropriately coded on Salesforce.

Communication

• Ensure that relevant members of the Community Fundraising Team are aware of on-line fundraising activity.
• Work alongside the Operations and Finance Teams to monitor income.

Other Duties

• Attendance at community fundraising events.
• Be an outstanding advocate for Alder Hey Children’s Charity in line with the core values of the organisation.
• Be an active and supportive member of the Alder Hey Children’s Charity team, contributing to the team’s development and working collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers.
• Gain and maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Charity’s work, priorities and future plans and act as a spokesperson for the Charity when required, including representing at external events as appropriate.

About the role

The Lead Worker - Coaching role at Crisis Skylight South Wales is a varied and fulfilling role. You will assist people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless by assessing their needs and offering appropriate interventions (coaching, information, advice and guidance, advocacy and direct support) and use a variety of communication skills to develop, follow and review a personalised plan to end their homelessness sustainably.

You will have access to regular one to one supervision sessions and facilitated reflective practice sessions to support the positive impact of the role; working collaboratively with internal colleagues and external services is also an important aspect of the role to ensure that individuals are able to access the services they need.

About you

• Ability to motivate and encourage individuals to maintain their access to the service by working through the changes they have identified and supporting them to recognise their progress.
• Current knowledge of health and safety issues and safeguarding procedures to ensure a safe environment is provided for individual’s accessing the service, staff, volunteers, supporters and visitors.
• Being able to support team members, including volunteers, by sharing your knowledge and skills and by working constructively together to end the homelessness of the individuals accessing the service.

• Ability to collaborate with partner organisations to maintain service knowledge, referral pathways and manage safeguarding concerns. When necessary, advocate for individuals to ensure that they are able to receive, engage or continue to access services appropriate to their needs.

• Knowledge and experience of coaching which assists individuals experiencing homelessness through a process of strengths based personal change; coupled with the ability to recognise when other interventions like IAG, advocacy or direct assistance may be needed.

• You may have experience in working within a relevant sector such as homelessness, mental health, drug and alcohol treatment, criminal justice, domestic abuse, modern day slavery or employability support. You may also hold or develop one or more areas of expertise such as housing access, homelessness / housing legislation, welfare benefits, employment support, health services, drug and alcohol treatment, MAPPA, MARAC or criminal justice services. This may enhance the effectiveness of the services’ ability to support members and engage effectively with partners.

• Experience operating within a rapidly maturing PMO environment, specifically acting   as the execution support function for a senior transformation leader.

Location: We are a UK-based business with an office in the Old Street area of London, accessible via a number of public transport links. Colleagues typically spend 40% - 60% of their working hours in the office, and the remainder from home. However, the exact requirements for this role can be discussed at interview.
