Job description

Senior Legacy Manager (Stewardship & Engagement)
34.5 hours/week. We are open to a conversation about how you work these hours
Flexible location
£47,500 -£51,000 p.a. + benefits

There has never been a more exciting time to work in Legacy Fundraising. We are growing our team by a massive 50% and looking for a passionate Senior Manager to lead the team through this change and deliver our ambitious growth strategy.

At Macmillan, we understand how important it is that our workforce is representative of the people we support, and who support us. We particularly welcome applications from Disabled and Minority Ethnic candidates who are under-represented in our organisation at this level.

About the role

In this role you will lead and grow the team responsible for embedding legacy fundraising at the heart of our organisation with an emphasis on extending legacy activity beyond the remit of the direct team.

You will develop and implement a sector leading stewardship strategy for our key audiences, increasing conversion and retention rates through enhanced and segmented supporter journeys’, including face to face and virtual events.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have excellent relationship building and influencing skills. Experience of developing a stewardship strategy, using research and insight to inform decisions, will be advantageous. Your strong leadership skills and change management experience will be essential as you navigate and embed new ways of working with an ambitious and growing team.

You’ll bring big picture perspective and use your communicating and influencing skills to ensure our key stakeholders help us deliver and grow Macmillan’s biggest income stream.

About us

We help millions of people with cancer across the UK live life as fully as they can through physical, emotional and financial support. Our values are at the heart of who we are and everything we do, inspiring our thinking and guiding our actions. Together, we do whatever it takes for people living with cancer; with heart, with strength and with ambition.

Gifts in wills fund almost a third of Macmillan’s vital services and are essential in helping us to continue supporting people living with cancer in the future.

We commit to actively developing you and our benefits include private medical insurance, life assurance, pension, generous leave, and interest free loans for season tickets and gym membership.

We strive to ensure that every individual is empowered to bring their best to work, and that’s why we offer flexibility in our working locations, hours and a range of benefits. We would welcome a discussion about how we can support you to be successful in this role.

How to apply

Applications will close on 5th June with virtual interviews to be held around the 10th June.

To ensure fairness and consistency to select the best candidate for this role, all our applications are anonymised up until an interview has been confirmed so that shortlisting is based solely upon the suitability of the candidate’s experience.

Please submit your application as soon as possible as we reserve the right to change the closing date of our vacancies.

We aim to encourage a culture where people can be themselves and be valued for their strengths. We seek to attract and employ the best people from the widest talent pool, reflecting the diverse range of people we support.

We want to make our recruitment processes accessible to everyone, so if there is any way that we can support you to be the best you can be, please contact the Macmillan People Services Team.
