Location: Manchester and Trafford, Greater Manchester

Working hours: Full time: 35 hours per week

Contract: Fixed term until 31st March 2027 (extension subject to funding)

Job Purpose:

Women in Prison’s Project Workers deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending. The primary purpose of this role is to provide in-depth, ongoing support to a caseload of women in the community of Greater Manchester.  

Key Responsibility Areas

1. Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive support to women in contact with, or at risk of contact with the criminal justice system. 
2. Monitor case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording, aligning with contract KPIs and WIP policies.  
3. Develop and maintain effective partnerships with statutory and voluntary sector services to ensure coordinated, multi-agency support for women. 
4. Contribute to organisational development and personal growth through innovation, self-care, and professional learning.

Job Purpose:
This role will be based in HMP Bronzefield, leading the development and delivery of specialist domestic abuse/family & significant other support with women impacted by the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibility Areas

1. Lead on developing an effective domestic abuse/family & significant others intervention for women impacted by the criminal justice system
2. Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to addressing women’s needs
3. Provide expert advice and support to colleagues, including Women in Prison’s influencing team
4. Provide effective leadership to direct report/s, ensuring teams are managed and supported.

This is an exciting new leadership role within User Voice’s London team, responsible for delivering two major programmes at the intersection of Health Justice and forensic mental health services.

The Project Manager will lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of these initiatives, ensuring they meet strategic objectives and deliver meaningful impact for participants and stakeholders.

This role is ideal for someone with lived experience of the criminal justice system who is already leading complex projects and managing teams and partnerships.

Main Purpose Of The Job:

This role is responsible for delivering a safe and supportive service to all residents living at O’Hanlon House during the night. The post holder needs to work alongside the day and night teams to ensure the effective delivery of high quality care, support and housing management according to Homeless Oxfordshire Policies and Procedures.

Main Areas Of Responsibility:

• Ensure the effective delivery of high quality care, support and housing management according to Homeless Oxfordshire policies and procedures.

• To be a supportive and effective part of the team working as part of a rota including nights and weekends. Maintain positive relationships with clients, relatives, carers, professionals, commissioners, contractors and the local community.

• Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment.

• To support and encourage clients to care for themselves and develop independent living skills.

• To assess and manage risk for individuals and in the service, making use of emergency services as required.

• Report any safeguarding concerns without delay in line with the charity’s policies and procedures.

• Comply with the charity’s health and safety standards.

• Manage challenging situations in line with procedures and to ensure the safety of yourself and others.

• Actively ensure security of the building through regular checks and monitoring of CCTV system.

• To carry out designated cleaning and laundry duties (and any other housekeeping tasks).

• To participate in handovers at the beginning and end of shifts, ensuring that information is properly recorded and passed on where appropriate and relevant and in a timely fashion.

• Ensure that IT systems are updated as required and concise record keeping is completed promptly.

• Ensure clients are aware of and support them to maximise their opportunity to be involved in Client Participation.

• To participate in the induction of and support new team members.

• To undertake any other duties that can be reasonably required to meet the operational needs of Homeless Oxfordshire.

• To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this position.

About the role

Our Employment Coaches support our clients to build their confidence, strengthen their employability and secure work that aligns with their skills, aspirations and circumstances. You’ll do this by guiding women through their job search and applications, and by helping them access opportunities with employers we partner with.

You’ll carry out initial assessments, develop personalised action plans, identify barriers to employment and signpost to specialist support where needed. You’ll also help clients prepare disclosure statements and stay motivated throughout their journey.

You’ll build strong relationships with employers, monitor suitable vacancies and proactively promote clients for opportunities.

Please note that this role requires a Basic DBS check and HMPPS vetting because it includes work on contracts commissioned by the Ministry of Justice and HMPPS. These vetting processes have specific criteria set by those agencies, which means that not all applicants will be eligible to pass.
