The Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven Fundraising and Events Lead to join our growing team. This is a new and exciting opportunity to shape the future of M7 Education’s fundraising strategy and be the driving force behind our next phase of growth.
You’ll take the lead in developing new income streams, building strong relationships with donors and fundraisers, and creating inspiring fundraising events and campaigns. Working closely with the CEO, you’ll have the freedom to innovate, test new ideas, and lay the groundwork for a future fundraising function within the charity.
This is a hands-on role that’s perfect for someone with experience in charity fundraising and event management who’s eager to make a tangible difference in education.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive fundraising strategy to increase income across multiple channels.
- Manage relationships with individual fundraisers, supporting their journeys and ensuring excellent stewardship.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver fundraising events — both third-party events (such as the SuperHalfs series) and M7-run initiatives.
- Research, write, and submit compelling grant applications to trusts and foundations.
- Lead creative fundraising campaigns that engage new supporters and promote M7 Education’s mission.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, sponsors, and community partners.
- Monitor fundraising performance, prepare reports, and evaluate impact to inform future growth.
- Contribute to the development of a future fundraising team, including volunteers and, in time, staff members.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in charity fundraising, with a track record of generating income.
- Proven experience in event planning and delivery.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational and project management abilities.
- Confident working independently and taking initiative in a small, fast-moving team.
- Ability to think creatively and strategically about income growth.
Desirable:
- Experience in the education or children’s charity sector.
- Skills in communications, social media, or email campaigns.

Main Purpose of Role:

The successful candidate will have the exciting opportunity to help shape our organisational strategy for the next 3–5 years (to be finalised in early 2026) and to lead the design and delivery of a dynamic fundraising and communications strategy. A major appeal or capital campaign is expected to be a cornerstone of this work.

About the role
We’re searching for a Regular Giving and Legacy Giving Manager to oversee a sector-leading, multi-channel appeal programme to increase numbers of gifts and donors to the University. Following the launch of Imperial’s bold and ambitious strategy we are preparing to launch a comprehensive fundraising campaign. The Regular Giving and Legacy Giving team will play a pivotal role in bringing about a step-change in regular, mid-value and legacy donations to the University.
The postholder will oversee and implement the overall strategy and supporter journey for alumni and donors primarily through direct mail, telephone, email and social media.
This is an exciting role with opportunities for the postholder to oversee an award-winning acquisition campaign, a brand new mid-value programme and a successful legacy marketing programme. The post holder will be instrumental in building collaboration with the Alumni Engagement team to promote philanthropy and take alumni on a journey to their first gift.

What you would be doing
Working across the Regular Giving & Legacy Giving team, you will oversee supporter journeys for donors, working on cases for support, appeal development and data segmentation. You will have the opportunity to pilot new ideas as well as delivering a mature and sector-leading programme. Working across Advancement, you will build relationships with key internal stakeholders especially the Alumni Engagement team, Major Gift, and Event teams to capitalise on opportunities to embed regular giving and legacy messaging in all University activities.
What we are looking for
- Successful track record, in direct-marketing fundraising in Higher Education or the charity sector
- Proven track record of line management and professionally developing members of staff
- Ability to build strong relationships and collaboration among key stakeholders and teams
- Significant and demonstrable experience of managing and organising projects to agreed budgets, targets and timescales
- Significant and demonstrable experience of developing and evaluating compelling and response driven copy and creative
- Significant and demonstrable experience of interrogating, analysing, manipulating and interpreting large, complex data sets for targeting and segmentation purposes
- Experience of liaising with and managing a variety of internal and external stakeholders and obtaining buy in and support for projects
- Experience of working with external agencies (creative agencies, fundraising consultants, copywriters, mailing houses and printers)
- Experience of working effectively in a changing, fast paced and innovative environment.

The Role
As a Community Fundraising Manager, you will:

- Play a pivotal role in a pilot to provide store-level engagement for their Asda Tickled Pink partnership, aiming to increase engagement and income.
- Work with the senior manager in developing annual plans, budgets, reforecasts, operational plans and KPIs to ensure sustainable, long-term growth.
- Grow the pipeline for high value, repeat and long-term fundraising by identifying opportunities from the warm supporter base, referrals, networking and developing tailored plans.

Our Services Delivery team are responsible for: virtual support hub, community support teams, service comms and engagement
Our Director of Services Delivery will be:
- providing strategic direction and leadership to our Service Delivery function, spanning services such as a helpline, digital and remote, and community engagement
- taking overall responsibility for and providing thought-leadership to our strategic approach for all national and community service delivery, as well as our engagement and comms across our Services and Support
