The available role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our hospice as a Marketing & Communications Officer. You’ll play a key role in sharing the hospice’s work with the people who matter most – our patients and those closest to them, our supporters, volunteers and staff. You’ll use a range of digital and traditional channels to tell powerful stories, promote our services and strengthen our connection with the community.

This is a hands‑on, creative role. You’ll plan and produce engaging social media content, manage social media and online enquiries, design digital and printed materials, maintain our website and create high‑quality video content. You’ll also work closely with supporters, patients and families to capture meaningful stories that bring our work to life, and you’ll support the development of our internal and external communications using insight and analytics to improve our reach.

This is a full time role working 37 hours per week, on a salary of £28,172 (subject to the outcome of a formal job evaluation process currently being undertaken).

This role will involve having some flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends. When this is the case, notice will be given and time given off in lieu.

The role at a glance

• Hours: 15 hours per week, split as:
  • Finance Assistant – 7.5 hours/week (flexible across the week, ideally Tuesday and/or Wednesday; not the reception day)

What you’ll be doing

Finance (7.5 hrs/week)

• Enter invoices and payments accurately in Xero, analyse by department and fund
• Keep records spotless: scan and upload documents, reconcile petty cash monthly
• Prepare cash allowances for a small number of service users
• Process staff/trustee expenses and occasional card payments
• Record and bank cash/cheques, file everything properly, draft fee invoices

Reception (1 day/week, ideally Friday)

• Be the first warm welcome: phones, door, inbox - logging enquiries and passing to the right person
• Keep the reception and shared spaces tidy and friendly
• Sort and distribute post (and take mail to the Post Office, including special deliveries)
• Support small admin tasks, make external calls, and help keep the office running (incl. lights/CCTV on/off)
• Top up staff refreshments (small things, big impact!)

Age UK Waltham Forest is leading Waltham Forest Loved and Wanted Alliance, which includes a mosque, church, synagogue, foodbank, Chinese and Albanian groups. The Alliance will support people to make meaningful relationships across divides of race, faith, age and wealth. We are now recruiting a Loved and Wanted Organiser who will make our programme of Loved and Wanted activities happen.

This post will organise the Alliance’s programme of events, supporting all Alliance member organisations to contribute. The post-holder will also support the Alliance Steering Group in developing and overseeing the programme, and undertake all monitoring and evaluation.

Role Responsibilities

Oversight of Spear Programme

Spear Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions and a 1:1 with each trainee 
per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to 
work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there.

• Lead group sessions of around 12 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.
• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach.
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Spear, as well as their ongoing progress and 
  sustainment of work or education.

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective.
• Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.

Line Management and training

• Manage the Spear Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
• Be line managed by Spear to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPIs.

Church Community

• The Spear Centre Manager is directly employed by Tabernacle Baptist Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church team and immersed in an exciting faith community.
• You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members, and help to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.

Site Management and set-up

The Fleet Manager is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of FareShare South West’s fleet, including vans, HGVs, forklifts, and manual handling equipment. This role ensures all vehicles, equipment, and drivers operate to the highest standards of safety, legal compliance, and operational effectiveness.

The Fleet Manager supports the wider operations and volunteer driving teams (including 2X HGV Drivers) through training, onboarding, and best practice-practice guidance. Working closely with Hub Managers, the Head of Operations, Food Manager and external contractors, the role drives continuous improvement across fleet operations and contributes to the smooth running of all FSSW transport activities.

Key Responsibilities
1. Fleet Operations and Maintenance

• Oversee servicing, MOTs, repairs, and maintenance for all fleet vehicles, forklifts, and manual handling equipment.
• Diagnose and triage vehicle issues, coordinating timely resolution with trusted contractors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with garages, leasing companies, insurers, fuel card providers, and breakdown services.
• Coordinate vehicle movements between sites and garages, ensuring minimal disruption to operations, arranging replacements as necessary.
• Manage fleet related-related budgets, including accessories, consumables, and recurring charges.
• Manage procurement processes (purchase or leased) related to fleet including onboarding and offboarding of fleet.
• Administer insurance policy changes and support the Head of Operations to manage claims involving FSSW vehicles or third parties.
• Maintain accurate fleet records, including maintenance logs, defect reports, mileage, and compliance documentation.
• Monitor and report on fleet performance metrics and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.

2. Driver Leadership and Support

• Provide guidance and support to two HGV Drivers on HGV management and compliance, and support Head of Operations with onboarding HGV Drivers.
• Develop and maintain a “train the trainer” model to ensure high quality-quality driver assessments across hubs, ensuring all staff are trained to the same level.
• Support and develop volunteer driving teams, ensuring driver onboarding and checks are consistent across hubs.
• Promote and model best practice in all driving and vehicle related-related duties.

3. Compliance and Health & Safety (H&S)

• Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, including DVSA standards, driver hours, tachograph rules, and Working Time Directive requirements.
• Oversee daily vehicle checks, defect reporting, and follow up-up actions.
• Maintain accurate records relating to fleet compliance, driver licences, incident forms, and repairs.
• Monitor fleet tracker data and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Support incident investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement in safety.
• Undertake relevant training in food hygiene, H&S, and compliance frameworks.
• Work closely with the Head of Operations, supported by the Health & Safety Consultant to embed a culture of continuous improvement and safe working.

We’re looking for a compassionate, skilled Immigration Adviser to join our warm, dedicated team in Bournemouth. Our preference is for someone accredited at IAA Level 2 (or Level 3) in Immigration, as this will allow you to take on Level 2 immigration work from the outset.

We are also open to candidates with IAA asylum accreditation and experience, and depending on the successful candidate, we may explore developing elements of asylum work that can be undertaken without a legal aid contract. This would be shaped collaboratively with the person we recruit.

 In this role, you’ll offer high‑quality immigration advice to people who are often navigating incredibly challenging moments in their lives. You will manage your own caseload of Level 2 immigration matters, supporting clients with clarity, care and professionalism.

Where appropriate, and depending on your accreditation and experience, you may also contribute to limited areas of asylum work that fall outside the legal aid contract, ensuring we manage demand responsibly and sustainably.

 A big part of the role involves building trusting, compassionate relationships with the people you support, helping them understand their options and feel confident in their next steps. You’ll work closely with colleagues, partners and statutory agencies to move cases forward, contribute to our weekly drop‑in, and ensure that safeguarding, data protection and professional standards are always upheld.

You’ll keep your IAA registration, knowledge and CPD fully up to date, and play an important part in helping us grow and develop ICN’s immigration service, shaping how we support our community into the future.

Working collaboratively with the central policy, public affairs, and campaigns team, as well as the country leadership team, the role builds strategic partnerships with government bodies, local authorities, societies, and other key organisations. This ensures Guide Dogs remains informed and influential on all policy initiatives affecting the organisation and its stakeholders.

The post holder will be responsible for the day‑to‑day leadership, management and oversight of a team.

The post-holder is responsible for shaping policy positions, drafting responses to consultations from councils, combined authorities, and devolved governments, and driving impactful campaigns at a regional level. A key focus is increasing the involvement of blind and partially sighted people in advocacy and campaigning.

Additionally, the role leads the implementation of Guide Dogs’ regional marketing and communications strategy across the Devolved Nations. This includes raising brand awareness, engaging diverse audiences—service users, families, volunteers, donors, and the public—and delivering integrated communications plans that strengthen Guide Dogs’ presence and impact.

Purpose of Role:

The Centre Manager is responsible for the effective leadership and management of Ormside Mill Residential Centre (ORC), including all Health and Safety, estate management, operations and bookings. Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management

Wood Street Mission is a children’s charity helping children and families impacted by poverty in Manchester and Salford. 

We provide practical help to help meet children’s day-to-day needs and improve their life chances. We give clothes, bedding and baby equipment to struggling families, along with toys and books which are important for children’s wellbeing and development.

We support engagement in education by helping families with the costs of school uniform and run Book Roadshow events in schools to promote reading and improve children’s literacy. We work to raise awareness about child poverty and help thousands of children and their families every year.

We are looking to recruit a Grants and Trusts Fundraiser to join our growing team, as we take Wood Street Mission to the next level. You will be responsible for managing and delivering our Grants and Trusts income stream, developing long-term relationships with funders, and building on our small but successful track record. The Grants and Trusts Fundraiser is a pivotal role in helping us to accelerate our growth even further so we can help more children to thrive free from poverty.

The role is flexible between the office in Manchester and working from home.

Purpose of post

As the Grants and Trusts Fundraiser, you will be responsible for securing grants of varying sizes, translating the charity’s work across our five projects into compelling, high-quality applications for a range of audiences. Working collaboratively with the wider charity team, you will have a hands-on role in understanding our projects to ensure you can authentically convey our mission and our impact to funders. 

You will provide excellent care to existing and new supporters, ensuring reporting requirements are met and that funders are kept informed of how their support has enabled the charity to continue its work.

A key responsibility will be to contribute to and develop the Grants and Trusts fundraising plan. You will work to identify, secure and develop a robust pipeline of grant funders to maximise income and enable continued growth and sustainability of Wood Street Mission’s work. 

Main duties and responsibilities

1. To contribute to and develop the Grants and Trusts fundraising plan as agreed with the Fundraising Lead, to support the charity’s strategy

2. Meet agreed key performance indicators and to monitor and report on these targets

3. To keep up to date with funding policies and grant giving organisation news to inform the fundraising plan

4. To work closely with the Fundraising Lead and other members of the team to ensure a coordinated approach and excellent level of care for supporters, through appropriate and engaging communication methods

5. To research and develop new funders to support the achievement of fundraising targets
