Key Responsibilities

As Concierge Lead, you will manage relationships with up to 150 members and help them to:

• Continue to enjoy their hobbies and interests in familiar settings
• Expand their social circle and make meaningful connections
• Access local activities to improve physical health and mobility
• Introductions to other members facing similar situations
• Navigate the health and social care system with confidence
• Access practical dementia advice and support
• Take regular breaks to reduce the stress and burden of caring
• Support to access financial and legal guidance

Your daily role can include:

• Developing deep member insights by conducting member ‘discoveries’ to learn life stories, hobbies, health and communication needs and understand what they want more
• Listening to members’ needs, providing emotional support and helping members build resilience.
• Facilitating and hosting monthly Transition Circles which are peer group sessions for carers experiencing similar situations
• Leading on member wellbeing at Good Company Clubs.
• Through gathering insights help develop and share actionable advice and practical tips through our website and the Good Company Hub
• Working with, training, and supporting a team of Concierge volunteers to provide support, information, and good company at the Good Company Hub on the high street
• Building partnerships with local organisations —social, sports, and voluntary—to introduce members to meaningful opportunities
• Representing Good Company at community and sector events

Legacy & In Memory Marketing Officer

Contract type: Permanent, Full Time, 35 hours per week

Location: London, UK subject to the right to work.

UK Hybrid Working: A minimum of 40% of working time is spent face to face, either in London office, or as a result of external engagement or travel for WaterAid. WaterAid is located at Canary Wharf, London and this will be your location and contract base.

About the Team

The WaterAid Legacy & In Memory team is responsible for increasing supporter and public awareness and consideration to give a gift in their will and/or an in memory gift. We deliver an audience led communication programme using diverse channels and products. The team deliver supporter journeys, engage staff in the cross promotion of gifts in wills and in memory giving and all aspects of legacy gift case management. We contribute to 14% of WaterAid’s voluntary income, meaning you’ll be a vital part of helping us reach even more people with life-saving clean water. 

About the Role

As our creative and innovative Legacy & In Memory Marketing Officer, you will deliver a range of compelling communications to increase consideration for legacy giving and implement personalised stewardship journeys for our legacy and in memory supporters, as well as delivering engaging thank you events. 

In this role, you will plan, manage and execute print, email and digital campaigns across the marketing funnel, as well as deliver exceptional stewardship, through personal communications and events, to our committed supporters.

You’ll also: 

• Prepare and agree campaign strategies using data, analysis and insight that meet specific objectives within the LIM Team plans
• Undertake Project Management responsibilities required for the successful and timely delivery of campaigns
• Manage relationships with external agencies and suppliers to ensure the effective and timely delivery of campaigns 
• Manage a legacy and high value supporter event programme
• Operate a rigorous test to learn methodology, regularly monitoring, evaluating and analysing campaigns

Requirements

You’ll be passionate about using your experience in fundraising and marketing to make a difference by creating inspiring and supporter-led communications that effectively raises consideration for legacy giving and uncovers new prospects and pledgers. You will steward our existing legacy and in memory supporters through engaging supporter journeys and events.

To be successful, you’ll need: 

• Proven experience in a direct marketing or supporter engagement role
• Proven experience in delivering and/or supporting on events
• Experience of developing and implementing supporter journeys across multiple channels
• Working style that reflects WaterAid’s values of Respect, Accountability, Courage, Collaboration, Integrity and Innovation.

Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:

• A recognised direct marketing qualification
• Experience of legacy or in memory fundraising

Where You’ll Be Delivering Our Mission

Most of the time, you’ll be based from our brand new Unloc Leeds office space in the city centre, or delivering programmes in Schools and Colleges in the Leeds City Region. 

You’ll also be out and about delivering programmes to our partners in other areas across the North of England. Occasionally, you will travel to London or Portsmouth (our HQ) to spend time with other teams. You will likely have more travel in your first three months as part of your induction programme. Of course, any travel costs outside of commuting to/from the Leeds city centre office will be covered, alongside an allowance for meals and accommodation.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the implementation of the Unloc Leeds Strategy

• Working in partnership with the Senior Team to ensure the delivery of the Unloc Leeds strategy. This includes;

  • Building new relationships with local schools and colleges. 

  • Facilitating free-to-access Changemaker Challenge days for local schools in Leeds. 

  • Delivery of workshops and presentations, attendance at events to to promote Unloc’s programmes and initiatives to schools, colleges and community groups.

Working in partnership and building new stakeholder relationships

• Liaise and act as a primary point of contact for current key stakeholders to promote Unloc’s work. This will include Local Authorities, Education Trusts, Businesses and Community Interest Groups. 

• Implement engagement strategies to build deep and meaningful new relationships with key stakeholders and people - developing advocacy for Unloc and our mission - and garnering insights into their challenges and priorities.

• Represent Unloc in external meetings, conferences and networking opportunities - building relationships that could support our efforts to generate new income.

Organise, plan and facilitate changemaker projects and programmes

• Organise, plan and facilitate bespoke changemaker events (with support from the Operations and Quality teams) for individual businesses, grant giving bodies, schools & colleges. These will span all four of our programme pillars; youth voice, leadership, entrepreneurship, and careers and employability. This generally involves designing agendas, booking speakers, managing event resources, actively leading individual sessions, briefing event support staff, liaising with key points of contact and managing attendance from multiple schools, colleges and partners.

Managing staff

• To line-manage other members of staff in line with Unloc’s People Management Approach. This includes:

  • Providing wrap around support to individual team members when they require it.

  • Promoting a culture of excellence in programme management and facilitation.

  • Ensuring that facilitators you manage operate in line with Unloc’s policies, procedures and practices whilst instilling Unloc’s core team values.

  • Maintaining a working knowledge of each staff member’s portfolio and current progress on programmes and providing a source of accountability.

  • Holding regular check-in meetings with team members.

  • Carrying out formal progress review meetings with team members every 6 months.

About the Role: 

As Senior Philanthropy Manager (Maternity Cover) you will:

• Proactively build a personal portfolio of HNWIs and UHNWIs able to give £1m+ through relationship development, appropriate and dynamic pitching and influencing and negotiating expertise.
• Effectively line manage three direct line reports. Lead by example and support high performance, ensuring the professional and personal development goals of staff are met.
• Proactively manage, with the prospect research team, the philanthropy team’s new business pipeline to achieve team and organisational objectives, working across the Strategic Partnerships department and across the WaterAid Federation as appropriate. 
• Be the senior level contact for all aspects of event planning and delivery, supporting the Philanthropy and Events Manager to manage the strategic planning, development and running of an events programme to time and budget for the benefit of the Philanthropy and Trusts Team, and where appropriate, the wider Strategic Partnerships Department. 

Requirements

To be successful, you’ll need:  

• Proven track record of raising “Principal gifts” of £1m+.
• Proven ability to manage a successful philanthropic portfolio, achieving targets as part of a strategic plan and maximising income from existing supporters.
• Experience managing the complexities of income management and KPI’s to monitor the teams progress and growth.
• Experience of line management / supervising the work of others; leading and motivating others and driving change.
• Be confident in leading work with senior level stakeholders, both internally and externally, in order to secure significant grants and manage strategic partnerships, using tact and diplomacy.

The Research Officer role at Marie Curie is a key position within the Research Team and the larger Policy and Research Directorate. The role is focused on driving evidence-informed policy and practice in palliative and end of life care. You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the associate directors with ongoing and new research projects, including data analysis (qualitative and quantitative), preparing manuscripts for publication, and creating academic posters for research conferences
- Conducting or supporting research such as scoping reviews, rapid reviews, and qualitative or quantitative analysis, and summarizing information to inform research and policy work
- Developing summaries and impact reports from funded Marie Curie research and other research that supports Marie Curie's ongoing work

Donor Stewardship and Reporting 

•Research, manage and develop relationships with a portfolio of donors informing, educating, and inspiring them about MAP’s work, and asking them for donations either directly in application or facilitating asks by peers.

About the Departments:

Both roles sit within the Cathedral and Church Buildings (CCB) Department, which supports the care and sustainable development of the Church of England's 42 cathedrals and 16,000 church buildings, of which 12,500 are listed, to help fulfil the vision and strategy of the Church of England. It also supports dioceses with the disposal of church buildings no longer required for worship and finding them a new future. Through advice, guidance, advocacy and fundraising, the Department provides strategic support on conservation and caring for historic church buildings, making change to support worship and communities, and working towards Net Zero Carbon 2030. Members of the Department engage with dioceses, parishes and cathedral teams, as well as nationally with government, agencies, charities, funders, General Synod and across the National Church Institutions to make the case for church buildings and their vital role in worship, community and national life.

Buildings for Mission team

The Buildings for Mission project is an initiative of the Department funded by the Church Commissioners from the 2023-25 triennium allocations. It is providing £11m of support to dioceses and parishes through advice and grants, structured around three main activities. The Church Buildings Support Officers (CBSO) Grant Scheme supports salary and related costs for new posts to provide advice to parishes on repair and maintenance and on developing the wider use and support for churches through community engagement. The Minor Repairs and Improvements Grants Fund is devolving £6.2m to dioceses to distribute in the form of grants for urgent and necessary small-scale repair projects or improvement projects. The Church Buildings Management Partnerships (CBMPs) initiative aims at the formation of partnerships to provide maintenance and insurance services to member churches. Pilot projects are being grant-aided over the period 2025-26.

The Grants Officer role within the Buildings for Mission team will provide a responsive service for the grant schemes under the Buildings for Mission initiative:

• The Church Buildings Support Officers (CBSO) Grant Scheme,
• The Minor Repairs and Improvements Grants Fund, and
• The Church Buildings Management Partnerships (CBMP) pilots.

Net Zero Carbon Programme

The Net Zero Carbon Programme was established to help the Church of England to deliver its commitment to reaching Net Zero Carbon by 2030. It aims to aims to equip, resource and support all parts of the Church to reduce carbon emissions from the energy used in its buildings, schools and through work-related transport by 2030. The team manages the distribution of a grant portfolio worth £190 million across 2023-31, aimed at supporting and equipping dioceses, parishes and other parts of the Church to reach the milestones set out in the Routemap to Net Zero 2030.

The Grants Officer role within the Net Zero Carbon programme will play a vital role in supporting the work of the Net Zero Carbon Programme's grant streams, supporting it in delivering a consistent and responsive service to grantees.

In both roles, duties will include:

• Assisting the Grants Manager with general operation and oversight of the schemes
• Providing a knowledgeable and responsive service to dioceses as first point of contact for the grant schemes
• Handling general enquiries and pre-application engagement, assessing and responding to expressions of interest from prospective applicants
• Handling a caseload of live grants

Key role requirements:

• For the Buildings for Mission role, the post-holder will be required to come into the primary office location (Church House) or another NCI or diocesan office location (subject to agreement with relevant office management) a minimum of one day per week.
• For the Net Zero Carbon Programme role, the post-holder will required to be home-based, with regular meetings in Church House Westminster and occasional travel elsewhere (up to two days per month).
• These are both fixed-term contracts, Buildings for Mission team (12 month contract) and Net Zero Carbon Programme (12 month contract). There is a possibility that these contract lengths could be extended to the end of 2028, but this is dependant on further funding being agreed.
• You will need to have knowledge/experience of historic and/or natural environment conservation or heritage management OR experience working in the environment or sustainability sector (depending on which role you choose to apply for).
• Both roles require good written/spoken communication skills, good interpersonal skills, ability to work well both on own initiative and good analytical skills.

Job Purpose

Carers Manchester Contact Point (CMCP) is the first point of contact for unpaid carers seeking information, advice and support to help them with their caring role.

The service delivers a free confidential helpline for carers weekdays (Monday – Friday, 10am – 4pm). These times are subject to change, based on the needs and requirements of carers using the service.

The aim of this role is to be part of a team providing a comprehensive information, advice and support to carers in Manchester. The post holder will work alongside colleagues from Gaddum and potentially other organisations to be the first contact in a busy service providing advice via a telephone advice line and managing referrals made through digital sources. They will provide information and advice and refer more complex issues to the appropriate agencies delivering the Manchester Carers Pathway.

Key responsibilities 

Advice giving

• Answering telephone calls into a central helpline offering support and guidance to unpaid carers in Manchester.
• Provide relevant and meaningful support and information to unpaid carers utilising internal and external resources.
• Inform carers about carers assessments and refer where necessary.
• Inform carers about emergency grants available and refer where necessary.
• Ensure all advice and support given is delivered in a timely manner to suit the needs of carers calling the helpline whilst balancing waiting callers.

Follow-up support

• Refer unpaid carers to local services to access local and culturally appropriate support in their area.
• Refer carers to Adult Social Care for Carers Assessments to discuss and improve their caring situation.
• Signpost carers to relevant services in Manchester suited to their individual need.

Project Background

Come and join our award-winning place-based volunteering programme that works with residents living across Hackney and the City of London.

You will be based out in the community - the programme is based at GP practices - to engage, support and enable local residents and patients to deliver local services for themselves, to meet local needs. We support residents to come together, to share their skills and experience for the benefit of each other, to deliver local groups and activities such as a book group, film club, exercise classes or cooking group. Residents from diverse backgrounds and demographics attend these activities together and make new connections, building strong local communities, all working together to make their area a better place to live. People, many of whom are isolated across all ages, and who have difficult life circumstances, are brought together, providing each other with mutual support and encouragement to develop new skills and pursue life goals, and to feel better able to voice their concerns to services.

You will be joining a nationally recognised project - having won an award from the Royal Society of Public Health in November 2024 - to support residents to fulfil their personal goals, make connections with others, and design activities and services that meet local needs. You will also be supporting people to improve their mental and physical health through signposting them to appropriate services and encouraging them to talk to their GP if they have concerns; and will be working in partnership with GP practice staff to co-create volunteer roles to make the practice more efficient and a better place to visit.

About the role

Across your geographic area of South East Wales:

• Identify, develop, and steward supporter relationships with businesses, fundraising groups, and high value prospects.
• Understand supporter motivations, identifying opportunities across the Charity that inspire and engage, enabling them to achieve their fundraising goals and reach their potential.
• Identify and steward corporate prospects using a pipeline process resulting in applying for and converting opportunities.
• Be proactive within your area to identify opportunities for fundraising and raise awareness of the Charity.
• Manage supporters effectively using our CRM system (OneCRM) to provide excellent stewardship.
• Meet agreed financial targets, provide monthly financial progress reports, and put mitigation plans in place for any shortfall.
• Promote BHF’s activities and campaigns to raise awareness and drive income.

Working arrangements

This dynamic field-based role covers the vibrant region of South East Wales, including the bustling cities of Cardiff and Newport, as well as the picturesque areas of Pontypool, Usk, Abergavenny,  Cwmbran,Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil, and Blaenau Gwent. The territory also extends to the charming locales of Monmouthshire, Torfaen, and the Vale of Glamorgan. Occasionally, the role will also require support in the scenic North Wales region.

You'll need to live in South East Wales region or be able to relocate to this region.

This role requires regular travel within the area, and occasionally to other parts of the UK.

You must have a full UK driving licence at the time of application with access to your own vehicle.

There will be a requirement for flexible out of hours working to support occasional evening and weekend activity. You will be compensated for this with time off in lieu.

This role is all about driving effective communication during a transformative period for the organisation. You'll be at the heart of the change, ensuring that employees and volunteers are informed, engaged, and motivated. You'll design and implement communications, collaborate with stakeholders to create compelling content, and ensure that messaging is both consistent and aligned with SSAFA’s values.

You'll organise and facilitate events and meetings, respond to feedback, and evaluate the effectiveness of your communications. Your work will be crucial in maintaining a positive and cohesive environment during the transformation, making sure everyone is on the same page and excited about the ongoing changes.

About the team

You'll be joining the Welfare Operations Directorate Project team, which is part of the wider implementation team responsible for a major organisational change programme.

In this role, you'll work directly to the Project Manager and alongside the Project Officer, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication to all stakeholders. You will also have regular contact with the Internal and Change Communications Manager in the Fundraising and Marketing Directorate, aligning your communication strategies with the broader internal communications strategy of SSAFA.

In essence, you'll be working with a dynamic and committed team that plays a pivotal role in driving transformation and ensuring everyone is on board with the changes.
