Quality and service delivery

• Leading the welfare advice services, including contributing to possible future expansion.
• Maintaining a small personal caseload (approximately one day’s work per week).
• Working with the Operations Manager to ensure that BIAS maintains the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and is successful in AQS renewal.
• Leading on monitoring service delivery, recording outcomes and ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
• Managing all aspects of risk relating to advice delivery, complaints handling, safeguarding and GDPR.

Operational support

• Working with the leadership team as required on operational matters, including planning, strategy for future development and grant applications and reporting.

WHAT DOES BIAS DO?

BIAS is a local charity which has supported England’s largest Irish community in Brent for over forty-five years. Action Syria (formerly Hands Up Foundation) is a small and innovative charity that funds health and education programmes in Syria and neighbouring countries. We have forty-one centres and extension projects across England and Scotland, with ambitious plans to scale-up our provision further over the coming years.

As a Centre Leader, you will have responsibility for setting up, launching and running your IntoUniversity centre, including managing your team, planning and delivering the programme, liaising with external stakeholders and meeting IntoUniversity’s targets for delivery. However, a substantial element of this role is delivering our education programme to children and young people aged 7-18, so you will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people, including leading a class of 30 from the front, working with small teams of children and providing one-to-one support.

Contract:
Full-time, permanent

Working Hours:
Monday: 9:30am – 6:00pm
Tuesday: 9am – 5:30pm
Wednesday: 9am – 5:30pm
Thursday: 9:30am – 6:00pm
Friday: 9am – 5:30pm
(Some additional weekend &
unsocial hours will be required)

Salary:
£33,800 per annum
This will rise to £35,500 from 1st September 2024.

Locations:
At our brand new IntoUniversity centre in Middlesbrough. 

Annual Leave:
33 days (inc bank & public holidays)
