The Role

This is not your average 9-5.

We're searching for a Supporter Engagement Assistant who will be central to this ambition, helping us create "wow" moments and connecting our supporters directly to our life-changing research.

Key Responsibilities

Supporter Care and Engagement

· Frontline Supporter Engagement: You will be the first port of call for our supporters, managing inbound communications across phone, email, and various digital platforms.

· This includes warmly handling enquiries, taking and processing donations, and escalating complex issues to ensure a seamless and positive experience for everyone.

· Creative Communications & Gratitude: You will take the lead on thanking our supporters and making them feel valued.

· This involves drafting personalised acknowledgements, finding creative ways to share the impact of their support, and sending welcoming messages to new event participants.

· Collaborative Team Support: Act as a key support pillar for the Public Fundraising Team, especially during peak times and events.

· Your role will be dynamic, involving everything from on-the-day event assistance to managing logistics and taking ownership of specific fundraising activities.

· Digital Community Management: Help us maintain a vibrant and supportive online presence by monitoring shared inboxes and assisting with the moderation of our social media communities during key campaigns and fundraising challenges.

· Process Improvement: Develop and maintain essential resources, such as FAQ documents, to streamline our processes and ensure consistent, high-quality information is shared with our supporters.

· In person support for several key owned events and other organised events each year, outside of core business hours as needed, for example – by supporting our London and Brighton marathon teams on the day (time off in lieu will be available).

Supporting Public Fundraising Campaigning and Administration

· Provide essential administrative support across the Events, Individual Giving, and Major Donor fundraising teams, contributing to the efficient operation of campaigns and activities.

· Work collaboratively with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely processing, logging, and acknowledgement of incoming donations and fundraising income.

· Perform data entry tasks, including setting up new regular gifts, and creating and updating communication records within the CRM system (Access CRM).

· Support the administration and stewardship journeys for fundraising events, assisting with tasks such as registration support, participant communication, and logistics administration.

· Provide surge capacity support during busy periods, particularly for high-volume activities like Facebook Challenge moderation and campaign-specific administration.

· Assist with the preparation and mailing of supporter communications, appeals, and stewardship materials.

· Some on the day support for fundraising events and logistics planning and delivery. This may involve some work outside of core working hours for which TOIL would be available.

Collaboration and Operational Efficiency

· Work effectively within our evolving Agile framework, which empowers teams and individuals to work collaboratively with transparency, with key teams to plan, prioritise, and deliver high-quality supporter engagement activities.

· Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across all teams, including Public Fundraising, Resources, Patient Projects, Finance and Communications, to ensure a joined-up supporter experience.

· Identify and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and supporter satisfaction, wherever possible.

Database and Compliance

· Adhere to all Prostate Cancer Research policies, procedures, and the staff code of conduct.

· Collect and maintain records and data both on CRM and elsewhere regarding supporter interactions, enquiry themes, supporter feedback, questions, interests etc. For helping us to improve.

· Maintain a proactive approach to learning and professional development, seeking opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to supporter engagement, fundraising administration, and the cause of Prostate Cancer Research.

· Take responsibility for personal development to improve performance in the role and contribute effectively to PCR’s mission and strategic goals.

Skills and Competencies

Our ideal candidate would have the following:

· Demonstrable or transferable experience of an administrative or support role, within an office environment.

· Demonstrable pro-active growth mindset and excellent problem-solving skills.

· Proactive, eager to learn and support the work of PCR and colleagues.

· Very good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, empathetically, and professionally with a diverse range of people, particularly external supporters and patients.

· Strong customer service or supporter care skills, demonstrating patience, empathy, and a helpful attitude with excellent telephone manner.

· Strong accuracy and attention to detail with tasks such as data entry and with written communications.

· Experience with using Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.) and generally good IT skills including web applications and file systems.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively in a busy environment.

· Work effectively individually and as part of a team.

· A basic understanding of data protection and GDPR principles and maintaining confidentiality.

· An understanding of or interest in the cause of Prostate Cancer Research.

Desirable:  

· Experience working with a CRM system, particularly Access CRM or similar fundraising CRMs would be useful.

· Experience working or volunteering in the non-profit or health and social care sectors.

· Experience handling and processing financial transactions (e.g., taking donations over the phone).

· Experience using design or communication tools like Canva.

· Knowledge of fundraising principles or the Fundraising Code of Practice.

· Experience assisting with event administration or logistics.

· Experience using digital communication tools or social media in a professional capacity.

Age UK Richmond upon Thames is a local independent charity supporting older people across the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. We provide a wide range of useful and well utilised local services in Richmond upon Thames designed to improve wellbeing and enhance independence – including information & advice; a wide range of social & wellbeing centres and sessions; support after hospital discharge; digital skills development; Dementia Friendly Richmond; mental health peer support and home services such as handyperson, housekeeping and gardening. Partnership is a core part of our work – we work in close collaboration with other voluntary sector partners and wider organisations to maximise our impact and reach. Our friendly and committed team of 50 staff and 100+ volunteers support over 4,000 local older people each year.

We currently have an excellent administrator opportunity for flexible and proactive individual to join our Nightingale Home from Hospital service, which provides much needed free support to local older people who have been discharged from hospital or become unwell in the community – with a particular emphasis on those living alone and without family support. 

Our small team of team & volunteers are  involved in organising and delivering tasks which facilitate a speedy hospital discharge and make homes safer to avoid admission – including fitting keysafes, moving furniture, shopping, giving advice and coordinating with health & social teams. 

This busy role will include:

- Taking referrals into the service and adding to the CRM / database.

- Updating CRM / database and gathering information for the team to support clients.

- Coordinating Nightingale staff and volunteers to ensure tasks essential for a safe discharge are complete.

- Ensure the individual receives the support/services they need taking a holistic approach – working and communicating with staff, referrers, clients, family members, carers, social workers, hospitals and other Age UK Richmond and voluntary sector services. 

We are looking for an individual with excellent administration and IT skills with experience in a health or social care related field being highly desirable. A proactive, enthusiastic and highly organised approach is also essential.

Direct grant scheme: Debt Write Off & Financial Assistance Payments, White Goods & Money Advice - administration & monitoring:

• Support the Head of Services with the debt write off and all programmes including working with Third party contractors as appropriate.

• Work with the Head of Services to build strong relationships with Third Party administrator(s).

• Work closely with British Gas & other third-party contractors to understand their operational process for vulnerable customers, applications and referrals as well as any dependencies.

• Support BGET’s understanding of money and advice sector across England, Scotland and Wales, including sharing policy knowledge and sector developments within the 3 nations.
• Contribute to new initiatives with British Gas and grant giving programmes.

· Support the effective management of the Trust’s grant programmes across England, Scotland and Wales, including:

• Build & manage positive relationships with the grant assessment team and British Gas internal teams. 

• Providing appropriate support to ensure the direct grant programme runs efficiently and effectively, with grant funding distributed to budget and schedule.

• Undertaking both face to face and virtual monitoring visits of the helpline and application portal and assessment teams – including ongoing KPI and impact evaluation process, creating comprehensive follow-up reports including end of grant reports.

Reporting & Contract Management:

• Ensure all data collection aligned to current Data Protection regulations and use and storage of data is in line with the Trust’s own policies and provide reassurance to the Head of Services.

• Ensure accurate data is in place for year-end reporting, quarterly and including assisting Head of Services with quarterly and End of Year Board reporting.

 Reporting & Contract Management: 

• Identify risks to delivery and work with the grant administrator to help resolve any challenges with delivery that impact on the grant obligations.

• To work with internal and external monitoring and evaluation specialists, to gain impact and understanding of the effect of our funding schemes.

Knowledge Sharing

• Identify and develop opportunities to work collaboratively and share learning.

• Ensure case studies and other content is collated from grant recipients to share through our channels.

Please note the employee will be required to undertake any reasonable work or task requested by the Trust, this will include occasional travel, potentially overnight, in England, Scotland and Wales. 

Desirable Experience: 

• Experience of working with positive, equitable partnerships. 

• Experience in using Grant Management Software including reporting systems and dashboards.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively without compromising on quality or efficiency and be able to adapt to changing demands.

Skills and Knowledge: 
Essential: 

• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships

Self Employed - Neonatal Lead

For Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, and Newham Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP)

Overview

Barts Health NHS Trust provides neonatal and maternity care for women and birthing people and their babies each year across Tower Hamlets, Newham, and Waltham Forest, providing all aspects of obstetrics and midwifery care in our labour ward, midwife-led birth centre and home birthing service.

TWN Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) listens to the experiences of women, birthing people and families, and brings together service users, staff and other stakeholders to plan, review and improve maternity and neonatal care. MNVPs ensure that service users’ voices are at the heart of decision-making in maternity and neonatal services by being embedded within the leadership of provider trusts and feeding into the Local Maternity and Neonatal System and Integrated Care Board. This influences improvements in the safety, quality, and experience of maternity and neonatal care. We work to ensure that every woman and birthing person on the maternity and neonatal pathway has a chance to have their voice heard. We do not speak for them.

We are recruiting a Neonatal Lead who brings the expertise of women/birthing people with lived experience of neonatal services at Barts Health NHS Trust into the heart of the development of every aspect of neonatal and maternity services at the trust.

The role of Neonatal Lead is key to providing inclusive and collaborative leadership and ways of working, ensuring that all women and birthing people and their families’ views are heard and acted on. This is an exciting opportunity to review, shape and improve services and make a real difference to women, birthing people and their families.

This is a paid, self-employed job requiring 30 hours a week (worked flexibly where possible). Working with the MNVP is an opportunity to become part of a vibrant team, improving care for our service users and enabling voices and engagement with our community.

This is a self-employed position on a fixed-term contract until March 2026. The successful candidate will not be entitled to employee benefits such as pension, sick pay, or holiday pay.

As a self-employed contractor, you are responsible for managing your own tax and National Insurance contributions. You will be required to invoice the organisation for your work, and payment will be made within 21 days of receipt of a monthly invoice.

This is a home-based role with flexible working hours. However, you will be expected to attend meetings within Barts Health NHS Trust and travel within the community as required.

We’re seeking a creative and passionate Engagement Officer to lead the public-facing elements of the Gower Landscape Connections project. This role is all about helping people connect to place - inspiring local communities to explore, understand and actively care for the Gower National Landscape.

You’ll design and deliver inclusive workshops, events and volunteer activities for schools, youth groups, and community organisations, with a strong focus on reaching underrepresented communities across Swansea. Whether developing bilingual outreach materials, supporting citizen science, or co-producing projects with local partners, you’ll ensure people are at the heart of this exciting work.

The National Landscapes Association represents the UK’s 46 National Landscapes – legally protected places where nature and people thrive together. We lead and champion action to protect and restore these special landscapes for the benefit of everyone.

We’re looking for a Data and Evidence Officer to support our work on the Gower Landscape Connections project and across the wider Association. If you’re passionate about using data to tackle the climate and nature crises, and can turn complex information into powerful insight, this could be the role for you.

You’ll be responsible for sourcing, analysing and mapping ecological, climate and socio-economic data to inform practical conservation planning. Working closely with the Gower team, as well as the Association’s Nature-based Solutions programme, you’ll help develop systems that drive landscape-scale action. You’ll also play a central role in maintaining and evolving our GIS tools, supporting bids for major nature recovery funding.

We’re looking for someone with experience handling both statistical and spatial data, who communicates clearly and can collaborate across teams. You should be as comfortable working with detailed evidence as you are thinking strategically about long-term impact. As the Trusts and Foundations Officer you will proactively research, steward and secure income from a pipeline of trusts and foundations. You'll be identifying suitable trusts and developing impactful applications, reports and stewardship assets to grow and develop relationships. We'd love you to help use creativity and innovation to engage, inspire and motivate supporters, playing a pivotal role in helping Bowel Cancer UK grow income and ensure we can continue to meet the needs of people affected by bowel cancer.

About the role

You will be joining a friendly and face paced fundraising team. You will be responsible for;

• Cultivating and managing an existing portfolio of high-net worth individuals and charitable trusts and foundations
• Expanding the pipeline of high-net worth individuals and charitable trusts and foundations by identifying and unlocking networks across our charity, hospitals, supporters and funder communities
• Soliciting five and six figure gifts from high-net worth individuals and charitable trusts and foundations, both verbally and by creating compelling funding proposals
• Supporting the Head of Strategic Projects to identify and develop high value (six figure plus) charitable trust and foundation opportunities and bids that align with the charity's ambitions

About you

To be successful in this role you must have;

• Proven experience of securing five and six figure gifts from major donors and/or charitable trusts and foundations from first approach through to solicitation and stewardship
• Experience of fundraising within complex organisations such as the NHS, Higher Education or larger charities
• Proven experience of managing and developing high-value funder relationships
• Experience of identifying opportunities and matching donor interests with the priorities of the hospital, developing inspiring asks and proposals
