Job title: Grants Manager

Location: Central London. We offer flexible and hybrid working but office-based work will be essential on a regular basis.

Salary: £43,000 per annum

Main purpose of role: To manage the day-to-day running of our grant programmes to organisations and support the practical implementation of any new grant programmes from application process through to due diligence and record maintenance.

Main duties and responsibilities:  

Grant management 

• Act as the first point of contact for grants to organisations.
• Manage a portfolio of organisational grants that deliver our theory of change outcomes.
• Provide full grant management of our organisational grants, including: preparing grant deeds, keeping track of payments and reporting requirements, distilling learning, to grant renewal considerations.
• Organise and conduct regular meetings with funded organisations to learn alongside organisations and see the work in action.
• Implement grant making processes that reflect best practice and encourage learning through our grant making. 
• Keep up-to-date with changes and developments in the external environment and work with colleagues to reflect this in strategy and practice.

Grant programme development 

• Undertaking scoping and research for new grant programmes, and developing practical knowledge about new programme areas as required.
• Providing project management support for new grant programmes alongside the Senior Grants Manager.
• Taking a lead on the negotiation of new grant agreements.
• Managing the day-to-day processes required by any new grant programme from concept through to advertising the fund, assessing grant applications, due diligence, writing recommendation papers to trustees, to awarding funding and gathering and sharing learning.

Other activities  

• Working with the Impact team to develop our monitoring and evaluation capabilities with funded organisations.
• Working with the Partnerships and Participation Manager and Policy and Best Practice Manager to ensure that our grant making processes are informed by the key stakeholders. 
• Working with our fundraising and communication team to ensure we are communicating effectively with supporters about our work.

Our location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. But one thing we have learned from the pandemic, is that we are able to work very effectively from home. We are looking for a confident, customer focused individual with great interpersonal skills for this busy homeownership officer role. You will bring your knowledge and experience of dealing with leasehold management enquiries from residents, and internal and external stakeholders.

You will work closely with the Homeownership Manager to develop the service through improved policies and processes, whilst improving leaseholder satisfaction.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

• Management and delivery of wide range of leaseholder enquires and transactions including, staircasing applications, lease assignments, and Section 20s
• Welcoming new shared-owners and leaseholders to the service, ensuring that they are aware of roles and responsibilities in complex estate management schemes.
• Manage the relationship between third party managing agents, ISHA and the residents.

The Role

Global Greengrants Fund UK is looking to hire an energetic and passionate individual who will play a key role in collaborating across teams to support finance and grantmaking. They are responsible for the smooth running of all transactional processes for grants, payments, reconciliations, and financial reporting. They will also lead on any applicable system enhancements thus offering a critical and wide-ranging systems support role for the grantmaking charity. They will ensure that financial transactions are properly allocated, recorded, and maintained and assist in the preparation of audit data as well as supporting project reporting to aid in the preparation of the annual statutory audit and project reports.

As part of the finance and operations team, they will join a growing team currently staffed by four members in the UK. In the present accountability structures, the Finance and Grants Officer, GGF UK is line managed by the Director of Finance and Operations, GGF UK while building and working in more collaborative ways.

The Candidate Profile

The successful applicant will have significant relevant experience in a similar role in a charitable, environmental, development, social justice, feminist, gender, human rights, and/or grantmaking organisation. They demonstrate knowledge and experience in charity/nonprofit grant accounting/financial issues and dealing with both financial and grant information and processes, understand accounting principles, and have knowledge of accounting, grantmaking, and budgeting processes. They have cash management, banking, and payment experiences. They demonstrate excellent administrative and organisational skills, and the ability to ensure the accuracy of work and demonstrate precise attention to detail. They will have the skills to give, receive, and work with feedback constructively. They also thrive in a virtual environment, motivated to take on challenges and collaboratively find innovative and creative solutions. Multiple language skills would be ideal, while English fluency is a must.

We are looking for 2 people to join the dynamic and friendly Rent Service Team in Assistant Rent Service Partner roles.

This busy team processes Housing Benefit payments from 55 local authorities in the UK for up to 4000 St Mungo’s residents; and collect over £45 million in rent and service charge plays a key role in the organisation to support clients to rebuild their lives. In this role you will:

• Provide administrative support to the Rent Service Team to facilitate early intervention of rent arrears overall.
• Be responsible for a caseload of up to 750 residents; working proactively to support clients in prevention of rent arrears within your designated caseload.
• Use your sound influencing skills in the recovery of former tenant rent arrears.
• Communicate effectively to provide high levels of customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

In this role you will be required to work for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. About the Youth Endowment Fund  

 We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.   

In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.   

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by funding great initiatives, finding what works and working for change – scaling up and spreading the practices that make a difference.    

Our Change team does this by building excellent relationships and sharing evidence of what works with organisations and key individuals across the public, private, third sectors and local communities. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, proactive and highly organised Change and Events Officer to join our Change team to help us fulfil our mission.    

 Key responsibilities  

Most fundamentally, your job is to work as a member of our Change team to make sure we’re excellent at running events and managing relationships with key stakeholders. You’ll make sure the team is incredibly organised and has the support it needs to work effectively. Key responsibilities:  

• Event Organising. Help to organise events, from small roundtables to large in person conferences. You will help make sure events run brilliantly, from booking venues to managing invites and organising materials.   

• External Relationship Management Support. Provide support to the team in managing external relationships by scheduling meetings, organising workshops and developing materials.   

• Meeting Effectiveness. Make sure certain meetings are effective. You’ll do this by organising the meetings, taking great minutes, making sure we keep track of things we said we would do and saving the documents in the right place.   

• Project Support. Help ensure projects within the Change teams are done brilliantly. This may involve administrative tasks, tracking deadlines or leading projects as needed.   

• Query Management. Monitor and respond to general queries by managing the team inbox.   

• Salesforce Reporting and Stakeholder Communication. Lead on coordinating Salesforce reporting and effective communication outreach for key stakeholder groups.  

• Stakeholder Engagement and Change Activities. Develop and support stakeholder engagement and Change activities, including monitoring and compiling feedback from surveys.  

• Team Scorecard Coordination. Lead on co-ordinating the team scorecard, ensuring that the team is on track with targets. 

• Collaboration. Work closely with other roles (including our Operations and Culture team) within YEF to ensure coordinated efforts and sharing of best practices.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

·Work with the Community and Events Manager to implement Challengers Community and Events income strategy to a high standard.

·Working with the team to plan and deliver Challengers own events and external events including the marketing plan, supporter recruitment, supplier relationships, logistics, budgeting, communications, stewardship pre-event then on the day event management and post-event review.

·Cultivate, develop and manage effective relationships and partnerships with a range of community groups and supporters, including working with new, existing or lapsed donors and organisations to foster long-term Challengers, supporters.

·Support fundraisers in their DIY fundraising and development of opportunities for supporters to fundraise. Monitor online fundraising, through supporting those raising funds, to creating and maintaining clear income and communication records.

·Provide a high standard of stewardship for community and event supporters, by supporting their fundraising and wider journey and thanking them appropriately.

·Represent Challengers through public communications such as meetings, presentations and disability awareness workshops to existing and potential donors, ensuring the image of Challengers is represented correctly and in line with current policies, the vision and The Challengers Approach which is based on the Social Model of Disability.

·Support the wider Challengers Team with the delivery of fundraising events and meeting supporters in the community including some direct work on the event day which will include ad-hoc evenings and weekends for which time off in lieu will be given.

About the Assistant Safeguarding Officer Role: 

As our Assistant Safeguarding Officer, you will be responsible for managing a caseload and giving support and advice to local volunteer managers in responding to concerns or complaints affecting the safety and welfare of young people; for progressing some safeguarding concerns and making the necessary referrals to statutory agencies where required. The Assistant Safeguarding Officer will work with Safeguarding Officers, and be supported and supervised by Safeguarding Managers.

What we are looking for in our Assistant Safeguarding Officer:

• Relevant experience and/or professional qualification in safeguarding/child protection/child welfare or related field
• Knowledge of the Scout Movement or similar youth organisations
• An understanding and acceptance of fundamental values of Scouting
• Knowledge of the Disclosure Bodies’ processes
• Experience of making referrals to and engaging with statutory agencies
• Experience of communicating with parents and carers regarding complex situations
• The ability to undertake risk assessments

Key responsibilities as our Assistant Safeguarding Officer:

• Assessing welfare concerns affecting young people in Scouts, including ‘children in need’: bullying, self-harm, and other welfare concerns
• Taking necessary action to appropriately address welfare concerns including, informing and advising the parents/carers of children subject to referrals
• Assessing lower threshold safeguarding referrals, including conduct and suitability issues
• Making referrals to statutory or professional agencies in respect of allegations and concerns affecting young people and adult members in Scouting
• Contacting statutory agencies to gain updates and outcomes of their enquiries, to allow Safeguarding Officers to proceed with safeguarding matters and allegations. Share Scouting updates with statutory agencies
• Operating within UK legislation and statutory guidance in relation to young people within Scouts, and adults who hold a Position of Trust
• Providing support and guidance to Scout volunteer managers to enable them to implement a local response to welfare concerns and allegations regarding adults and young people in Scouting, including supporting the suspension process where appropriate

New Art Exchange (NAE) is a pioneering creative space in Hyson Green, Nottingham. We’re the UK’s largest gallery dedicated to contemporary visual arts from the Global Ethnic Majority. We set out to reshape the contemporary art narrative by championing diversity and inclusivity and by providing a platform for underrepresented voices in the art world. 

Purpose of the role

The Facilities Manager will be a key member of NAE’s operations team, responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operations of our 4-storey building (including gallery spaces, meeting rooms, performance space, workshop, artist studio, cafébar, plant room and technical storage) is fit for purpose.

Main duties of the role

Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM), testing/inspections, and reactive repairs across all building services including but not limited to plumbing, electric wiring, HVAC, lifts, film alarm, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers and suppression systems, intruder alarm, CCTV, access control, pest control, etc, within budget.

Ensure NAE’s building is always well-presented, clean and aesthetically in a good state of repair, ensuring all areas are maintained in a tidy and well organised.

Responsible for the management of the facilities budget, including negotiating the best possible value across utilities, contracts and service level agreements.

Ensure all maintenance and service works take place with agreed SLA’s, is delivered on time and to budget and service reports and other filing is well managed.

Responsible for Health and Safety across the building and organisation including health and safety policy, fire strategy, risk assessments covering all areas of the building and specific RAs for each event, safe systems of work, accident/incident reports and compliant filing.

Responsible for building security systems, keys and fobs, alarm monitoring and keyholding services, and alongside the General Manager oversee emergency procedures & act as a fire warden.

Responsible for premises cleaning (including line management of two part-time cleaners) and associated services such as waste management and sanitary collections.

Support the Executive Director to develop and implement an Environmental Policy to ensure that NAE considers the environment within all new and existing suppliers’ arrangements.Responsible for carbon footprint reporting.
