Administrator and communications volunteer volunteer roles

We are looking for two committed and values-driven individuals to join our Board of Trustees for our subsidiary, RBL- Republic of Ireland.

As a Trustee, you will play an important role in shaping the strategic direction of the charity, ensuring strong governance, and supporting its mission to commemorate members of the Armed Forces and provide lifelong support to serving and ex-serving personnel and their families across Ireland.

Working collaboratively with fellow Trustees and the Chair, you will help safeguard RBL’s reputation, assets, and long-term sustainability while ensuring that all activities remain aligned with the charity’s purpose and values.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with fellow Trustees to shape and oversee the organisation’s strategic direction and performance.
• Ensure RBL meets its obligations under Irish charity and company law and adheres to the RBL RoI Constitution.
• Ensure the integrity of financial information and that robust systems of financial control and risk management are in place.
• Participate fully in board discussions and decisions, providing constructive challenge while supporting collective responsibility once decisions are made.
• Attend and actively contribute to Board meetings (minimum two per year) and relevant governance discussions.
• Support the organisation’s engagement and representational activities when required, championing ethical standards, diversity and fairness.

Please note - While candidates based in the Republic of Ireland are preferred, we will also consider applicants located elsewhere who can demonstrate strong connections within the Republic of Ireland.

Successful candidates will be expected to attend two Board meetings per year. Trustees for this role may also participate in commemorative and key RBL RoI events throughout the year. Overall, the anticipated time commitment is approximately 8-10 hours each month, including preparation and engagement outside of formal meetings.

The TRATSEDI Webinar Archivist is responsible for capturing, curating, and preserving the intellectual and practical outputs of TRATSEDI webinars.

Rather than simply storing recordings, this role focuses on transforming webinars into accessible knowledge assets—including summaries, reports, and curated web content—that reflect TRATSEDI’s mission and can be shared with prospective speakers, collaborators, funders, and the wider public.

Key Responsibilities

1. Webinar Knowledge Capture

• Collect all post-webinar materials, including:
  • Final webinar poster
  • Speaker biography and photo
  • Microsoft Teams recording
  • YouTube video link
• Ensure materials are complete and correctly labelled.

2. Knowledge Curation & Archiving

• Maintain the TRATSEDI Webinar Archive using agreed folder structures and naming conventions.
• Organise webinars by year, theme, and speaker.
• Maintain an archive log tracking completed and pending webinar outputs.
• Ensure long-term accessibility and consistency of materials.

3. Webinar Insights & Reporting

• Write concise webinar insight reports, including:
  • Event overview
  • Key ideas and discussions
  • Implications for research, policy, and practice
• Ensure reports align with TRATSEDI’s scholarly yet accessible tone.
• Prepare web-ready or PDF versions of reports.

4. Website & Digital Publishing Support

• Upload completed webinar content to the TRATSEDI website, including:
  • Poster
  • Speaker bio
  • Recording link
  • Insight report
• Update webinar pages from “upcoming” to “completed.”
• Check links, formatting, and accessibility.

5. Knowledge Dissemination Support

• Support post-webinar dissemination by:
  • Preparing short LinkedIn summaries (in coordination with the Communications Lead).
  • Sharing reports and recordings via approved WhatsApp groups.
  • Ensuring YouTube titles and descriptions are accurate and consistent.

The Sorting Team Lead oversees the day-to-day coordination of the sorting function within WFRC, directly supervising volunteers during scheduled shifts and ensuring all donated items are processed efficiently, safely, and in line with organisational standards. The role is responsible for maintaining quality control, organisation of stock, volunteer task allocation, and adherence to the structured volunteer framework. While not responsible for overall strategic decisions, the Sorting Team Lead plays a key operational role in ensuring continuity, consistency, and readiness of essential supplies for families, escalating concerns where necessary to senior leadership.

The Listing / Inventory Team Lead is responsible for overseeing all inventory tracking, listing accuracy, and stock control within the Baby Bank.

This role ensures that all donated items are properly recorded, categorized, stored, and updated in the inventory system to maintain visibility, accountability, and operational efficiency.

The Team Lead supervises inventory volunteers and ensures adherence to operational SOPs.

Taunton Brewhouse is looking for trustees from all backgrounds.  Key is sharing our vision for a bold, brilliant cultural venue in Taunton, adding to our existing skills and expedrience and prepared to to play an active role in meeting the challenges ahead.

As a trustee, you'll share responsibility for:

• agreeing strategy and goals for Taunton Brewhouse
• appointing and setting salaries for senior management
• giving oversight and support to management
• paying attention to financial management
• ensuring due diligence in all regulatory matters including safe-guarding
• ensuring a robust approach to management of risk.

You'll attend Board meeting although much work is carried out in projects or committees.  You'll be an ambassador for Taunton Brewhouse and support our wider endeavours through attending press and community events.

There are 5 formal meetings pa held in evenings at Taunton Brewhouse.  Other meetings are generally in the day and are organised around the diaries of those involved.  We also aim for an annual 'away-day' to enable trustees time to reflect, plan and develop the organisation and themselves.

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT VOLUNTEER

First Aid Services Operations deploy hundreds of volunteers and employees every week on community and
commercial events, to make sure first aid is available in our local communities, as and when it is needed.
Operational Support is a flexible role which will work with, and proactively provide support to, various teams
to ensure volunteers always have a positive experience. This could range from carrying out practical tasks
which positively impact our people’s welfare on events, to be a friendly face welcoming new volunteers to
selection events, or existing volunteers to their Clinical Competency Assessments, or even helping Units to
increase their presence in the community.

Work with and support: Event Manager or District New Volunteer Lead or District Training Lead or

WHAT YOU WOULD BE INVOLVED IN (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES)

• On first aid events, work with Event Managers, Treatment Centre Managers, Event Communications teams and Logistics teams, to support the welfare of adult volunteers and employees by taking proactive action. This can include making sure people are taking sufficient breaks, drinking plenty of water, eating appropriately and supporting one another. Other tasks could include helping make and serve refreshments, regularly checking to see if everyone is ok and signposting to support available through My Wellbeing, where necessary.
• Support Training and Recruitment teams on selection events, welcome events, training events and Clinical Competency Assessments, to ensure they run smoothly and are a positive experience. This can include welcoming and signing in attendees, collating and processing relevant paperwork, inputting outcomes on computer programmes, providing refreshments and invigilating written assessments.
• Assist Unit Managers to increase their Unit’s presence in the local community by promoting recruitment opportunities, supporting the fundraising lead and building relationships with local organisations to raise awareness of first aid.
• Perform any other administrative and support duties commensurate with these responsibilities to keep the organisation running smoothly.

A bit about this role

As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!
 

You can expect us to

• make you feel welcome, included and respected in line with our values and behaviours
• support you in having a positive and impactful experience at Cats Protection
• cover agreed out-of-pocket expenses in line with our Expenses Policy
• provide you with access to learning, development and engagement opportunities

What we need from you

• help set up and/or man stalls at events
• help on collection days like supermarket collections events or street collections
• help at fundraising events such as quiz nights, cake sales and dances
• promoting a professional image of Cats Protection at events

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.
