The person
You will be part of the Young People’s Services Team who provide a range of services and activities for young wheelchair users and their families. You will have a friendly and professional approach to working with families and professionals and be highly organised to manage planning, delivery and relevant paperwork for all wheelchair skills services. Skills and knowledge
• Understanding and familiarity of good practice and law around child protection, disability discrimination and equal opportunities legislation, health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection.
• The ability to teach and demonstrate wheelchair skills, using a wheelchair.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
• Ability to motivate children and young people of all ages.
• The ability to deliver training using coaching/teaching skills.
Experience
• Experience of working directly with disabled children, young people and their families.
• Lived experience of being a wheelchair user and/or experience of delivering wheelchair skills training is preferable.
• Demonstratable experience of delivering training, teaching or coaching.
• Youth work experience.
• Experience of risk management procedures.

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse and victims of sexual violence. We provide responsive, victim focused, and trauma informed support and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders, and partners experience this in our daily delivery.
The aim of the Interpersonal Trauma Service is to improve the health, wellbeing and safety of people who have been exposed to trauma arising from sexual violence and abuse and/or domestic abuse.
Following a successful trial in several surgeries, this service is now being rolled out across Devon, Plymouth, and Torbay. So, this is a very exciting opportunity to take ownership and be part of an innovative new service, delivering real improvements to the local community.
You will work across a specified number of GP practices, to offer support to health professionals working in practices, people who have experience of interpersonal trauma arising from sexual violence and abuse and/or domestic abuse, as well as a service for people at risk of perpetrating abuse.
You and the team will provide training to GP surgeries to improve identification, enquiry, and response for patients. You and your team will also support adults and children who have been impacted by interpersonal trauma with emotional and practical support, focusing on trauma stabilisation. The team will be responsible for facilitating timely access to further appropriate support services where needed.
Key responsibilities:
- To provide specialist, individual and needs-led domestic violence/ abuse (DVA) and sexual violence (SV) advocacy and support to patients who are or have experienced DVA/SV, who are referred from participating practices or self-refer, and to provide onward referrals where appropriate.
- To provide signposting and onward referrals to patients who are affected by DVA/SV.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with general practice teams.
- To provide ongoing specialist advice and support around DVA and SV to practice teams.
- To encourage general practice health professionals to ask patients about their experience of abuse and respond, record, safety check and refer.
- To provide feedback on case outcomes to referring clinicians.
- To collect and collate performance and monitoring data for reporting purposes.
- Provide in-house training & refresher training for general practice teams on understanding, recognising, and responding to domestic violence and abuse (DVA) and sexual violence (SV).
Advocacy and support work
- Provide support to increase people’s personal safety, and that of any children, and inform them of their rights and options in terms of housing, legal and welfare rights.
- Provide direct assessment, casework support, advice, information, and advocacy through telephone contact, and/or meetings at the relevant practice.
- Develop good working relationships and liaise with outside agencies where needed.
- Keep accurate records of all referrals received and of work done with or on behalf of service users.
Practice-based work
- Arrange dates for refresher training sessions with practices.
- Deliver DVA and SV training to clinicians and non-clinical staff in participating general practices.
- Promote awareness of the experiences and needs of people affected by DVA and SV, particularly in relation to their health.
- Develop a good relationship with all general practice staff and work effectively as part of the practice team.
General
- Attend and participate in required meetings.
- Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of the programme collecting required data and producing written reports as requested.

The post of Group Work Facilitator will provide support to victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence within group work provision.
At FearFree we run various trauma-informed groups for victims such as: Hope2Recovery, an educational domestic abuse online support group; Rediscovering You, a face-to-face emotional wellbeing recovery group; Inspiring Families, a ‘whole family’ approach to support; and a Living Skills group supporting those having to flee domestic abuse.
We are looking for experienced and motivated staff to join us to help deliver the group work programmes we run around locations in Wiltshire. Groups run in the morning, afternoon and evening. Training for the groups will be provided.
In addition to facilitating groups, staff will be asked to attend training events and meetings, including regular supervision.
This is a fixed term role until November 2025, with the potential to become permanent subject to funding.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To facilitate group work provisions across the Wiltshire Service.
- Completing pre and post group assessments and required paperwork, following the procedures in place.
- Write comprehensive case notes following groups about service user involvement, any concerns raised and any action required.
- Identify and take the appropriate action on any disclosures or safeguarding concerns raised within the group.
- To work cohesively with a second facilitator both virtually and in person in locations around Wiltshire.
- A willingness and ability to travel around Wiltshire and access to a vehicle with business insurance.
Skills and Qualities
- Experience of working with victims of domestic abuse or sexual violence or the willingness to increase knowledge and skills in this area.
- Experience of working with vulnerable people.

C4WS Welfare Coordinator Advert 2024:
C4WS Homeless Project (registered charity, no 1189622) which provides support to people experiencing homelessness year-round, through a well-established winter night shelter in Camden, a lunchtime club, Jobs Club, mentoring scheme, hosting scheme and various other activities. We are passionate about helping people rebuild their lives after homelessness and working towards living independently.
What We Do:
Every winter, we work with a number of churches in the London Borough of Camden who offer their venues to us to run a night shelter. We operate from a different venue every night of the week, and run one circuit, accommodating 16 guests.
We provide camp beds and offer a hot evening meal. Our guests leave in the morning after a hot breakfast, ready to attend activities and meetings in our offices in Euston.
Advice and Support
Whilst the shelter operates seasonally, every winter, our team works year round, dedicated to offering advice, advocacy and practical support. This can be accessed by former night shelter guests, and via our weekly drop in, Friday Club. Guests can also access other services provided by C4WS including lunch, laundry and showers.
The Role:
Our small, dedicated team is looking for a Welfare Coordinator, to deliver holistic welfare support to all those who access our services. You will work alongside another member of the team to ensure that guests are supported both during and after their stay in the C4WS night shelter to ensure the stability of their move on.
You will possess a passion for working in the homeless sector, supporting those experiencing homelessness to rebuild their lives and ideally have direct and relevant experience of working with this demographic, or similarly vulnerable and/or disadvantaged groups.
As well as providing Welfare Support, you will also be a presence at the shelter for up to two evenings a week during the shelter season (November – March) including weekends, and you will need to lead a team of volunteers to ensure the safe running of the shelter on those occasions.
C4WS is a small charity, that delivers an outstanding service to those who access our support. It is thanks to a wide network of referral partners, corporate and individual volunteers, plus the support of several religious communities in Camden, who we have worked with over the last 20 years, that we can have such a positive impact on a person’s life. About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join our team covering Elgin and the surrounding area. You will be involved in one-to-one advocacy along with group work across the area; this could be in a clients’ home or other suitable community venue and be home based for telephone referrals and administrative tasks. Therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential.
This is a full time role for 35 hours per week, applicants who do not hold the Level 2 Award in Independent Advocacy will start on £22,500 per annum pro-rata.
About you

This role is part of the Wiltshire Project which provides individual and family support to domestic abuse for victims and their children.
Working within the children and families team, you will focus on delivering timely and high quality, trauma informed support to children.
This exciting new post will predominantly be working with children aged 0 to 5 years and their parents/carers who have experienced or been affected by domestic abuse. Focusing on standard and medium risk cases, this role will provide practical and emotional support to children where appropriate and their families, with an emphasis on early intervention and awareness raising.

· To provide high quality, specialist support to children who have lived in a domestically abusive family.
· Enabling the children and their families to access statutory and other services where appropriate.
