The Pituitary Foundation are recruiting for a new CEO to lead us into the next phase of our journey.
The Pituitary Foundation is the UK’s leading charity providing support and information for people living with pituitary conditions, their families, friends and carers. We are based in an office in central Bristol, with some staff and volunteers working remotely throughout the UK. Pituitary conditions are uncommon, usually lifelong and can be life threatening. Conditions include acromegaly, Cushing's, prolactinoma, AVP-Deficiency and hypopituitarism.
It is an exciting time to join The Foundation. We are celebrating our 30th anniversary throughout 2024 and are working towards our ambitious strategy which we are excited to achieve. Our new website, and CRM, combined with robust processes and procedures offers a strong foundation, for a new CEO to build on.
About the Role
This role will combine the ambition of The Foundation without losing the core importance of being a person-centred patient support group, offering kindness and support at challenging times. You will bring excellent interpersonal skills, as well as financial acumen and an appetite for seeing the best possible service delivered to a wide demographic.
Location: Based in the Bristol office, with flexibility for hybrid working
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000
Reports to: Chair and Board of Trustees
Holiday: 30 days plus statutory bank holidays
Pension: 5% employer contribution

About the role

About the role
Location: community-based in Bridgend with some office and home-based working.
We have an exciting opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team as a Dementia Adviser. You will have the rewarding experience of providing information, guidance and support to people affected by dementia in Bridgend. You will help them in identifying their needs, maintain independence, improve their sense of well-being, and putting them in more control of their lives. This post forms part of the Team working around individuals and their families who are experiencing difficulties with changes to cognitive, emotional, or physical health needs.
This new post will work as part of the Integrated Community Network teams in Bridgend. The Network Teams consist of staff across several professions. This includes social work, district nursing, community psychiatric nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, dietetics and pharmacy. It aims to provide a seamless and holistic approach to an individual’s care or support needs during times of change or challenge.
As a Dementia Adviser, you will:
- Work closely with health, adult social care and third sector colleagues in assessing need and providing information and guidance to support people affected by dementia.
- Help meet the health and wellbeing needs of an individual by looking at “what matters” to them by providing timely and accurate information, advice, and assistance so that they may benefit from what is available to them.
- Work within the Integrated Community Network Teams in supporting the provision of support to people with dementia and their carers and wider support networks.
- Deliver specific components of the service users care plan as delegated by the Integrated Network Team professional and will be required to implement care plans within the scope of their competence.
- Build robust working relationships and develop networking opportunities with a range of local partners and community organisations.
- Create pathways with partner organisations who work in the field of dementia, ensuring seamless, holistic consistent support and empowering individuals to make informed choices.
- Provide dementia support face-to-face, by telephone and online.

Contract: 6 Month fixed term contract.
Location: Based in Darlington with homeworking elements.
As a Dementia Adviser, you will provide person-centred and outcomes focused information, advice and support services to people affected by dementia and memory loss symptoms in Darlington. Bladder Health UK (BHUK) is a small national charity that has developed significantly over the last 10 years. We are now looking for a part-time charity manager who can continue this journey. The role gives a rare opportunity to someone who is enthusiastic to make a difference in this unique space and have a significant impact on both sufferers and healthcare professionals. As charity manager you will need a varied skillset including being able to build and nurture relationships, manage a small team of staff, develop new income streams, create, and develop imaginative projects and use innovative technology to boost the aims and objectives of the charity.
What you would do
Account management of existing and new relationships in the charity sector. • Research and write grant applications. • Support in making decisions and advise on the charity spend. • Work with the BHUK team to tell the story of ‘Bladder Health UK’ via its communication channels. • Support hosting and organising charity events. • Manage the general cashflow for the charity including reporting from a finance perspective. • Work on a multitude of projects throughout the year. • Outreach to relevant charities that the charity wants to work with and build long lasting, meaningful relationships with them. •. • Maintain all contracts, mailing lists, ensuring IT systems are kept up to date, and are compliant. • Manage ongoing governance of the charity, including developing and maintaining policy documents such as our grant making policy, conflict of interest processes, procedures and register, risk management policy and register. • Maintain charity commission register records. To succeed in this post, it is essential that you have:
- Have been involved in charity campaign work previously.
- Have experience in charity operations and governance.

You will primarily provide direct support and practical guidance to our Fabry members. This patient group is largely adult focused but there will be elements of family and child support. You will raise awareness within both the Fabry community and external agencies; and contribute to the development of resources, to promote self-advocacy within the patient group. A key objective of the role will be to build a sense of community and identity for our Fabry membership. You will also have the opportunity to facilitate and contribute to project work, including youth engagement, advisory boards, and support groups.
In addition to supporting the Fabry community there will also be a requirement to provide support to those affected by other conditions under our umbrella.
