Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the efficient and effective running of the charity office, handling enquiries by telephone, email, and post.
- Maintain both electronic and hard copy filing systems.
- Deal with visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the charity team, including word processing, managing electronic communications, and maintaining records.
- Make necessary travel arrangements for the charity team.
- Set up meetings, book rooms, and coordinate events as needed.
- Assist with keeping contact databases and records up-to-date, including handling data protection queries.
- Handle and process post and maintain office supplies.
- Draft, type, and dispatch correspondence as requested.
- Attend occasional evening and weekend fundraising and charity events as required.
- Format organisational policies in line with brand guidelines.
General Responsibilities
- Adhere to and implement all policies and procedures of Fight Bladder Cancer.

1. Manage delivery of a wide range of community activities

2. Secure a sustainable future for PCF and ACE

Provides support to the development and delivery of membership engagement campaigns.

3. Secure the reputation of PCF and ACE as a credible voice for public bodies.

Contributes to relationships with key stakeholders, including Cabinet Office, government departments, public bodies and Institute for Government.

Contributes ideas and content for circulation across communication channels - web, socials, trade press - to increase the profile of PCF and ACE.
4. Ensure smooth and effective operations of PCF and ACE.

The Training Ground Programme
Training Ground uses the power of the club badge to engage with young people whom universal support cannot reach. Working with targeted participants, aged 16-24, who are not in employment, education, or training (NEET), the programme provides, one-to-one mentoring, wraparound support, and access to physical activity sessions and mental health, employability, and life skills workshops.
The programme will target those furthest from the labour market and with additional support needs, for example, looked after or care experienced, young carers, homeless or at risk of homelessness, those with experience of substance abuse, previous involvement with criminal activity, and/or SEND.
Main Purpose of Job
You will provide 1:1 mentoring to a caseload of participants (aged 16-24), on the Training Ground programme. Your sessions will support them in developing the skills and confidence to take positive steps towards employment, education, or training. Working with your mentee over a period of time you will set goals and provide the support they need to meet these goals.
The post holder will have experience of providing support to individuals from a range of backgrounds and will have the ability to build and maintain relationships with employers, and other external stakeholders and agencies.
You will be good with administration and understand the value of keeping good records on your meetings and 1:1 conversations. You will track progress and collect evidence to show the distance the participants have travelled.
You will work with multi-agency partners to identify the barriers that have prevented young people from engaging in education and employment and help them to develop strategies to overcome these challenges. The post holder will have a passion for supporting others to reach their potential.

Hillside Clubhouse operates an established Employment Advice (EA) service integrated into NHS Talking Therapies (iCope). The programme aims to support Islington residents who are assessed within iCope and who require employment advice.
The EAs in iCope initiative was designed as an integrated employment and mental health service to improve both mental health and employment outcomes. EAs are part of the iCope team and work alongside therapists to provide employment support to help iCope clients remain in work, return to work, or find employment. This takes the form of personalised support for the client backed up by an action plan detailing the client’s employment goals and the actions that the client, the therapist, and the EA agree to take to meet these goals.
Overall aim
iCope (Talking Therapies) is an NHS Programme that provides evidence based psychological therapies to treat people with mild to moderate and moderate to severe depression and anxiety disorders.
The new Employment Advisor (EA) will work within the Islington NHS Talking Therapies provision. They will work one-to-one with a caseload of between 25-35 clients referred by NHS Talking Therapies therapists to find employment, remain in existing work if they are struggling, improve their working environment, return to work following sickness or positively leave or retire from work.
You will primarily fulfil these duties by providing information, advice and guidance to clients who choose to receive employment support. The support aims to empower clients to make better decisions about their working lives, as well as communicate better with colleagues and managers in existing roles. You will also signpost clients to other relevant support agencies, as appropriate.
This role would suit someone with a background in employment support, psychology, counselling, human resources, recruitment, or a desire to transfer their skills into the mental health support sector.
Method of working
EMPLOYMENT ADVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Engage a mixed caseload of clients at any given time serving 100-125 per year, with common mental health problems, to establish trusting, collaborative relationships to support them to find new employment or support them in, or to leave, existing employment. Support will be provided face-to-face in Talking Therapies settings, via secure online meeting platforms or over the telephone.
2. Along with their NHS clinician, assess clients’ support needs with a view to creating, implementing, and adjusting a personalised action plan to help improve clients’ mental health and achieve their stated employment goals.
3. Develop and deliver a range of practical services to support clients to find work, including career guidance, job searching skills, CV preparation, application form completion, interview skills, advice on local labour market opportunities and advice on education and training to further their career.
4. Provide guidance to support clients to stay in existing work, including advice on mental health disclosure, negotiating reasonable adjustments to existing workplaces, creating wellness action plans, and improving productivity, support to return to work after sickness absence or to leave an existing role with dignity, and signpost clients to organisations that can represent them (EAs should only look to represent clients in exceptional circumstances).
5. Facilitate access to other advice in areas such as financial benefits, debt management, food banks and community food outlets and social housing providers, as necessary.
6. Work directly with partners like Jobcentre Plus, other employment providers, employers, trade unions and employment agencies to support clients to stay in employment and secure employment opportunities.
7. Build a constant flow of referrals from the clinical team to ensure a dynamic and mixed caseload.
8. Meet referral and performance targets in line with the specific KPI / SLA requirements of the service.
9. Regularly attend team and other meetings as reasonably expected.
10. Maintain accurate and up to date records of activity and outcomes in line with service requirements, ensuring both the NHS and Hillside Clubhouse databases are kept up to date and paperwork compliant.
11. Receive regular supervision and training to meet individual, team and organisation’s needs.
12. Contribute to the development of a service that is locally responsive and supports minority/disadvantaged communities.
13. Comply with and actively promote all Hillside policies and procedures including Equality and Diversity, safeguarding and data protection.
14. Perform other tasks as required by your manager.
The role holder must also:
1. Pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an Enhanced level.

Technical Officer – welfare assessment
The postholder for this role will become a key part of the HSA welfare assessment and training team. The team regularly undertakes welfare assessments of abattoirs, livestock markets and transport facilities to provide advice and training to ensure high standards of animal welfare. We also provide in-person training in humane slaughter and transport to those working in the industry, as well as regulators, other NGOs, staff from farm assurance schemes and others involved in the industry. Participating in agricultural shows and industry events, sharing our knowledge and advocating for humane slaughter and transport with key stakeholders are also central to our activities. HSA conferences are also an important way in which we disseminate the latest animal welfare information.
The postholder will work with the small expert team at the HSA, using their expertise to deliver welfare assessments and training, provide expert advice and organise our external activities.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Attributes

· A degree in agriculture, life science, veterinary medicine (or a related field) or equivalent professional experience.
· An understanding of the basic principles of animal welfare at slaughter.

Role: The Forces Employment Charity (FEC) is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Specialist Employment Consultant to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to facilitate and coordinate employment case-working support for CTP (Assist), Service Leavers (SLs) and Veterans, up to 2 years post-discharge and job role reports to CTP (Assist) Manager. The goal is to assist them in finding appropriate and sustainable civilian employment or other suitable vocational outcomes.
The Role is based at MoD Personnel Recovery Centre (Catterick) / MoD Personnel Recovery Unit (PRU Catterick) and hybrid.
This part-time, permanent position involves a 28-hour work week and offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of Service Leavers (SLs) and Veterans.
The first round of interviews will be conducted face-to-face at Catterick PRC on 21st June 2024.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialist vocational case-working support to allocated CTP (Assist) clients in order that they achieve their Preferred Vocational Outcomes (PVOs).
- Provide effective CTP (Assist) case working support using the CTP (Assist) Work instructions and database.
- As a member of the Recovery Units CTP (Assist) casework handling team, work with relevant MoD staff to deliver the employment aspects of CTP (Assist) Individual Recovery Plans (IRPs).

- Identify and subsequently engage with Training and Adult Education providers to identify opportunities that meet clients’ requirements in accordance with IRPs.
- As required, provide in work support to ensure client vocational outcomes are sustainable.
- Monitor successful employment placement success for CTP (Assist) clients as a key component of overall outcomes.
- When required and appropriate, work closely with regional teams such as:
- CTP Regional Resettlement Centre (RRC) & Career Consultants (CCs)
- Future Horizon Employment Advisor (s)
- FEC Ex-Forces Employment Advisors (Veterans)
- Maintain accuracy and integrity in all interactions with the CTP BMS, Job site, and the CTP website and tools, ensuring timely recording of all client and employer engagement activity.
- Attend MDT’s and work with wider organisations in order to support the PRD you are working with (when required).
- Co-ordinate employment and vocational aspects of the recovery process with other supporting military charities.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Competencies:
- Motivated self-starter with ability to work largely unsupervised within a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to achieving successful outcomes for clients.
- Evidenced ability to provide effective case-working support to vulnerable adults to achieve agreed aims.
- Natural facilitative skills, used to managing stakeholders in a sensitive and sometimes pressured environment in which confidentiality is key.
- A desire to achieve through self-motivation and initiative, with an ability to exercise judgement and discretion.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Clean driving license and exclusive use of a car. There may be significant travel associated with visiting CTP (Assist) clients, attending conferences and training.
- The ability to deliver briefings and, with further training, support and facilitation to wider employment support activities.
Desirable Competencies:
- Empathy with Armed Forces personnel and an understanding of the challenges they face in finding appropriate and sustainable employment, particularly vulnerable or disadvantaged individuals.
- A good understanding of the employment market, including recruitment, welfare to work provision, work-based learning, and vocational training.
- NVQ L4 in Advice, Information and Guidance.
Security Clearance:
- Successful candidates will be required to undertake a Ministry of Defence security clearance check which requires applicants to have been resident in the UK for over 5 years. Successful candidates will also be the subject of an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (EDBS) check.
