The Role

As Deputy Shop Manager at our shop in Castleford, you will lead a team of volunteers to raise funds to invest in achieving the charity’s goal to save lives in Yorkshire and portray the charity as a professional, credible brand which acts with integrity. You will also provide excellent customer service, ensuring volunteers, donors and customers know how their contribution is helping the people of Yorkshire.

Specifically, you will:

• Play an active part in running our shop in Castleford, supporting the Shop Manager in implementing processes and ways of working.
• Provide cover for days off, holidays and sickness as required, with possible occasional travel to other shops to provide support if needed by the charity.
• Support the Shop Manager to maximise the income and profit of the shop through active stock management, replenishment, and rotation.
• Manage a team of well-trained volunteers in the absence of the Shop Manager and take every effort to create a positive retail environment.
• Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received).
• Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate record keeping of items donated and the amount paid for each item for Gift Aid tax reclaim purposes.
• Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• To have experience of managing people and/or volunteers including recruitment and development.

Finance Manager

The Role

The Finance Manager is a key member of the Finance Office Team and is responsible for all areas of financial accounting, audit, treasury, tax, payroll and endowment management for the College, its trading subsidiaries, and Trusts.

The Finance Office is responsible for delivering best practice accounting so the College is able to make decisions based on accurate and timely information. This role is pivotal in ensuring the Finance Office Team is supported and managed through the delivery of the key responsibilities.

The candidate will be CCAB Qualified and a capable manager with the personal qualities necessary to lead a small team and influence peers.

We’re looking for a Policy Officer – Wales to help shape policy, build relationships, and advocate for better support and care for kidney patients. The Advice Services directorate at Toynbee Hall is central to our commitment to address and alleviate poverty in London and beyond. Scope of role

The Debt Advisor is responsible for providing comprehensive, video debt advice to prisoners across thirteen (13) HMPPS sites, tailored to their specific circumstances. This role involves conducting detailed interviews to understand clients’ financial problems, researching options, and helping clients make informed decisions. The advisor ensures income maximisation and provides ongoing casework support, acting on behalf of clients where necessary. Maintaining up-to-date case records and staying informed about relevant legislation, policies, and procedures are crucial aspects of the role. The Debt Advisor is also expected to complete continuous professional development and contribute to the team’s overall objectives by meeting targets, prioritising workloads, and demonstrating financial efficiency. The may also be required to attend meetings on-site at various prisons and host workshops for prisoners.

• Interviewing those that access our service using sensitive listening and questioning skills to allow them to explain their problem(s) and empower them to set their own priorities.

Head of Retail
Salary: £53,973.50 per annum

Location: Hybrid - Exeter/Remote, plus regular attendance at DAA shops across Devon

The Role

The Head of Retail will lead a team of 60+ staff and several hundred volunteers to grow and develop our retail presence on the high street and online. With 23 shops already open and plans to reach 30 in the next few years, this crucial role will be responsible for identifying new opportunities for growth, as well as maximising income from our existing shops. The money raised from our shops directly supports our life-saving work in the county, and the Head of Retail will also play a role in contributing to the wider success of the charity.

The Candidate

We're seeking an experienced and passionate retailer to join us. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with a background in charity retail. They'll have an entrepreneurial spirit and a creative eye, but also able to motivate a large and diverse team, as well as working collaboratively with key internal support functions. They'll have demonstrable experience in budget management and sales analysis, with an ability to draw actionable insights. The ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge and understanding of retail best practice, including health and safety and wider regulatory compliance issues. A good geographical knowledge of Devon is essential.

A full UK driving licence is required for this role.

The Key Responsibility for this role includes the delivery of the VCFSE Reference Group's work plan, driving initiatives and growing membership to integrate the ICS by working closely with the VCFSE and wider ICS partners to deliver the ICS Community Strategy.

A major change project has taken place over the last few years to transform our IT systems and support. We have moved to a cloud solution based on Microsoft 365. To support our internal IT roles, we are supported by a managed service provider who are providing ongoing day-to-day support for all our IT users.

This is an exciting role that will play a key part in the delivery of Cranstoun’s IT and digital strategy. You will support the delivery of major business systems projects and support the day-to-day work of the IT team.

You will work closely with the Head of IT and the other IT and Systems Officer in supporting the IT infrastructure and delivering projects to improve the provision of IT and knowledge and digital capabilities across the organisation.

About the role

We are looking for someone in our London/Brussels/Berlin offices with strong charity sector experience to help drive practical change in compliance, tools, and systems. Join us on a fixed-term basis to lead process improvements and advise on funder compliance, supporting a growing and dynamic fundraising team. Part-time (3 days a week) or Full-time considered.

Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be managed by Laura Mertsching. Laura joined ClientEarth in 2022 and is based in London. For 2.5 years, Laura has been focussed on improving our policies, processes and tools to improve funder compliance and efficiency, and working in collaboration especially with fundraisers, internal legal council and finance staff. At the beginning of 2025, Laura was seconded to lead a cross-departmental project to align internal systems, processes and tools, which is why she is hiring a support role at the moment to drive forward key initiatives of her original role. Laura is an experienced project manager with experience working in the humanitarian and international development sector for more than five years before joining ClientEarth.

Main Duties

• Contributing to the delivery of the global Fundraising Strategy through driving improvements of relevant policies, processes and tools along the entire funding management cycle ensuring effective and efficient internal operations
• Effectively plan and deliver priority initiatives (including policy revision, risk matrix tool development, streamlining corporate income processes) collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that relevant perspectives are incorporated and work with their line manager on effective prioritisation
• Enable effective decision-making across ClientEarth’s existing and continuously growing funding portfolio, and occasionally review new funding agreements and advise staff during the contracting process

Summary

The key elements of the Operations Manager are:

1. Staff team management and development.

2. Oversight of operational management of Rainbow Haven premises.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Manage, Supervise and Support the Staff Team and Individual Staff Members.

1. Ensure Rainbow Haven provides a supportive working environment in which staff and volunteer well-being is prioritised, for individuals and the whole team.

2. Responsible for line management of operational staff and provide regular formal and informal support to individual staff members, ensuring they feel supported to do their work well, achieve their potential and are able to develop their skills and areas of responsibility through appropriate support, work reviews and training.

3. Support the whole staff team through team meetings, development days, whole team training, and team building activities.

4. Support those staff with responsibilities for overseeing work placements, volunteers and students to provide high quality supervision; promote and support further opportunities and experience for these team members.

5. Support the CO with the recruitment and selection of new staff members. Ensure appropriate employment contracts are in place and that these and other HR policies reflect current good practice.

6. Act as a deputy when the CO is absent from Rainbow Haven.

Monitoring and Evaluation

1. Oversee accessible monitoring and evaluation systems and develop these to ensure data and additional information can be collected and provided in various formats as required for all projects.

2. Review monitoring information to evaluate service delivery, service user trends and areas for development and build this into longer-term planning.

3. Ensure monitoring and evaluation information is collated and made available to staff, trustees, funders and partners as required.

Oversee the organisational Infrastructure to ensure Rainbow Haven maintains high standards of work practice and safety

1. Oversight of Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Data Protection and all other operational and workplace policies, ensuring that all staff and volunteers receive appropriate training, are aware of, understand and follow the policies.

2. Oversight of the operational running of Rainbow Haven premises.

3. Review Rainbow Haven policies, to ensure operational policies are kept up to date and revised within the correct timeframe.

4. Ensure all other legal and operational requirements are adhered to, including external an internal registrations, agreements and assessments and service contracts.

5. Maintain a good working relationship with the United Reform Church in its role as landlord, reporting maintenance issues, responding to their requests and addressing any concerns raised by them.
