We are working in partnership with The Meath Epilepsy Charity, who are looking for an experienced Interim Head of Care, to oversee a large professional team and multi services that specialises in supporting and protecting people living with complex epilepsy and healthcare needs. 

The Interim Head of Care will oversee the care services, providing line management, guidance and advice in all areas of standards, legislation, CQC requirements, safeguarding and KLOEs, supporting the Registered Service Managers to deliver the best possible person-centred care in an enabling environment.

The Meath Epilepsy Charity, whose aim is to enhance the lives of people who have complex epilepsy and related disabilities, by ensuring they receive the support, expert care and encouragement required to build confidence, acquire new skills and maximise independence in their daily lives.

You will hold an appropriate Health & Social Care qualification, QCF Level 5, with experience of inspection processes with CQC and be able to ‘hit the ground running’.

You will demonstrate:

• Understanding of the fundamental standards and KLOEs, knowledge of the safeguarding regulations and required notifications to CQC.
• Ability to develop multiple teams to a high standard and achievement level, instilling a culture of performance and teamwork, and effective handling of employee relations issues.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels with internal and external stakeholders, including general public, trustees, professional bodies.
• Effective management of a number of services and multi disciplinary staff teams.
• Experience with Mental Capacity Act and DoLs and be able to guide and mentor managers through the process.
• Your ability to present KPI’s and adjust information sharing alongside trends and changes.

Ideally with 3 years in a senior management post in the care sector you will have previous experience in change management, the successful candidate will provide a strong management presence, developing people and practice, and establishing/modelling the positive culture of the company is fundamental to successfully carrying out this role.

Your role would be to oversee the care services, providing line management, guidance and advice in all areas of standards, legislation, CQC requirements, safeguarding and KLOEs. Support the Registered Service Managers.

Your duties as the Head of Care, will include, but not be limited to:

• Act as The Nominated Individual for The Meath and the point of contact for the CQC.
• Operate as a member of the SMT in the implementation of senior management decisions, sharing KPIs, business goals and The Meath Values.
• Ensure The Managers maintain current knowledge of CQC compliance and cascade required information to all staff.
• Support the implementation of “I” and “we statements”.
• Report to and take a proactive part in the Health and Social Care Sub-committee of board of Trustees and support delivery of recovery plans.
• Keep CEO informed of all safeguarding incidents.
• Monitor staff numbers and rotas to ensure that The Managers are maintaining safe numbers of support and that 1:1 additional hours are provided.
• To supervise and manage the registered Managers and lead the Managers’ team meetings and briefings.
• Monitor and guide the Managers to maintain paperwork required under legislation, e.g. CQC framework assessment requirements, MCA, DOLs and Safeguarding.
• Regularly attend all services, to monitor standards and provide feedback to the Managers as appropriate.
• Encourage communication and best practice by promoting an open environment for discussion providing the opportunity for constructive feedback.
• Be available in emergency situations to assist and support The Managers.
• To be conversant with and implement the Meath policies and procedures, taking an active role in their review and ensure they are adhered to.
• In collaboration with the Head of Risk and Compliance, oversee the annual KLOE audit process and ensure actions are completed effectively.

Essential:

• Must hold an appropriate Health & Social Care qualification, QCF Level 5.
• Understanding of the fundamental standards and KLOEs
• Knowledge of the safeguarding regulations and required notifications to CQC
• To be able to ‘hit the ground running’.
• To be able to communicate with the general public, trustees, professional bodies, and all other parties both written and verbal.
• Knowledge and experience using Microsoft programmes and Outlook calendars.
• Experience in managing a number of services and multi-disciplinary staff teams.
• Experience with MCA and DOLs and be able to guide and mentor managers through the process.
• To be able to present KPI’s and adjust information sharing alongside trends and changes.
• Experience of inspection process with CQC.

Desirable:

An exciting position has arisen for an initiative-taking, enthusiastic and well-organised individual to join the Charity team at Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. (Working title King George & Queens Hospital Charity)

This is a dual responsibility role, and the postholder will be at the heart of all charitable activities as part of the fundraising team. We are seeking excellent secretarial skills to assist the Head of Fundraising with essential governance paperwork, and a keen aptitude for database interrogation, as well as leading with the day to day administration for the charity team. About Us

Advocacy Support Cymru (ASC) is a registered charity with offices in Cardiff and Swansea. We provide Independent Mental Health and Mental Capacity Advocacy Services across most of South Wales, employing 44 employees.

About the role

The post holder will provide support to clients who lack capacity and to implement the safeguards of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 or the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. They will provide non-instructed advocacy (NIA) support to people who lack capacity to make specific decisions and who have no-one else to support them. The successful candidate will travel efficiently and effectively within the Advocacy Support Cymru area of operation.

There are multiple posts available covering the Swansea Bay and / or Hywel Dda Health Board Areas.

About you

You will have significant experience working with vulnerable adults and/or children, either within health or social care setting, or indirectly, for example as a carer. You will understand and have experience of working effectively in an intra-agency context with Health and Social Care Professionals. Knowledge of the role of the Independent Mental Capacity Advocate as defined in the Mental Capacity Act 2005 is essential.

Previous direct experience in the role would be preferred but training will be provided.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Support Officer to join our Wellbeing team and work across two new projects aimed at improving older people's lives. Working closely with Age UK's Network of 120+ local and independent Age UK partners, this role will support the delivery of projects across their life cycle, ranging from the implementation of funder-led reporting requirements to liaising with partners on the impact the project has had on their beneficiaries.

The successful candidate would enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and will demonstrate exceptional organisational skills to ensure the successful delivery of the projects. You will carry out a range of duties to assist the team in the coordination, planning, monitoring, and delivery of the Programme. From researching and meeting with relevant suppliers and organisations, to assisting with the development and maintenance of project plans. The role

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our regional programme staff and a global network of over 35 partners, providing technical design and digital product support and developing projects in line with partner and donor requirements.

In this interim role, you will support KTI’s Digital and Design team in implementing the core programme design strategy, including our digital products, working alongside the Director of Delivery and Impact and with the Senior Leadership Team. You will work closely with regional functions within the programmes team, supporting the delivery of high-quality programmes and digital platforms for our young people across 20 countries via a network of in-country delivery partners.

In this fixed-term maternity cover position, you will lead and manage a team of technical programme design, content and digital product experts, ensuring that KTI’s strategic goals and objectives are met and that regional programmes are effectively and efficiently supported.

The Digital and Design team is a central function within KTI, working closely alongside Impact and Safeguarding teams to support the delivery of global and regional frameworks and tools for our programmes. In this role you would be responsible for ensuring best practice for programme design and digital product development are prioritised in our regional delivery, as well as in the global tools and processes which inform and guide our work with young people.

Our Mission at Love Barrow Families is to support and inspire positive change and resilience in the lives of children, adults, families and communities in Barrow that face multiple and severe disadvantage. 

We achieve this by providing early intervention and ongoing support to vulnerable children and their families with complex and enduring needs so they are kept safe for as long as they need it and our comprehensive service delivery model is rooted in strong values and a commitment to co-designing sustainable solutions with those we support and their families and community.We are a well-established organisation providing support to vulnerable families in Central and Hindpool wards in Barrow from our base on Abbey Road.

The role is part time - 28 hrs a week ideally worked flexibly across the week dependent on the needs of the families. 

We have funding in place for 12 months for the role but will be applying for this to be extended. 

The purpose of the role is to : Provide social care, emotional support and practical help at the point of need to children, young people and their families and we would love to hear from candidates who want to be part of a dynamic team, working together to ensure the smooth running of the services, share learning, use their initiative to help develop the service and want to make a vital difference to families living in the area.

• The work is varied, ranging from early interventions and preventative work, to dealing with people in times of acute need or crisis using a range of interventions including home visiting, support groups, Early Years and work within the wider community.

• At least 2 years’ experience in working with children and families, both in group and one-to-one scenarios.
• Level 3 Qualification in child development, health and social care, counselling or other related qualification.
• Experience of working as part of a team, but also be able to make your own plans and be responsible for projects.
• A demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Child Protection Procedures and working together to safeguard children and vulnerable adults.
• A full clean driving licence.

You have a good understanding of the harm caused by alcohol and drug use to adults, young people, children, families and society and a sympathetic approach to people who misuse them? Welcome to Aquarius as a Recovery Support Worker.

We’re part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence. We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us.

But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone.

Right now, we’re looking for a self-motivated individual to join us at our Recovery Near You service in Wolverhampton. This is a substance misuse service that works with adults aged 18+ and is run in partnership with Nacro and Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust. Your challenge? To provide advice, support, advocacy and key work for recovery plans and undertake elements of assessment and case management as directed. You’ll work not only from Aquarius offices, but also in primary care, arrest referral, hospital and youth settings and other outreach settings as required. And, all the while, we’ll expect you to operate in a way that recognises and values diversity and understands the functional model of substance misuse, the Recovery Agenda and the problems caused by alcohol and drug misuse.

Preferably with a NVQ 2/3 in Social Care, or willing to attain this, you are used to working to policy and procedural requirements that include child protection, vulnerable adults, confidentiality and health & safety. We’ll also be looking for good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and fulfil data requirements. A flexible approach is important too, as is commitment to taking a client centred approach to providing services and working in a way that recognises and values diversity.

This is a full time role requiring the post holder to work 37 hours per week.

On 1st June 2024 Richmond Fellowship merged with Humankind to form a single organisation that provides the joined-up mental health, housing and drug and alcohol support we’ve all known has been needed for decades. At the same time, Aquarius became a subsidiary of Humankind, with no impact to terms and conditions of employment. In October 2024, Humankind will be renamed to reflect the new organisation, of which Aquarius will remain a subsidiary.
