As part of a small finance and operations team and reporting to the Head of People, Finance and Operations you will be the main point of contact within the organisation for all day-to-day finance questions and queries from the team, funders and other stakeholders. You will be an effective communicator building close relationships with colleagues, suppliers and funders. They are looking for someone who is focused but flexible, a fast learner who can manage their own workload and priorities. Ideally, they would like you to have experience within a charity finance function.

Main responsibilities are: 

• Maintain and process all financial information to produce timely accurate management reports that inform and enable the organisation to meet stakeholder needs.

• Play a key role in supporting the organisation wide budgets based on business plans. 

• Ensure compliance with and submission of VAT, Gift Aid and tax returns.

• Support the annual audit process taking oversight and responsibility for liaising with external auditors to ensure the accurate information is provided on time to meet required timescales. 

• Take responsibility for maintaining and updating financial procedures and controls and educating and informing the wider organisation through workshops and inductions. 

• Support the continuous improvement of the finance function together with the Head of People, Finance and Operations to ensure our financial governance is robust and meets the needs of the organisation.

To manage social research work packages or projects within the Research and Analysis (R & A) team and contribute research skills to a range of CSE projects across all teams and work programmes. Delivery of projects and activities:

• Effectively manage work packages and small projects within the Research and Analysis portfolio.
• Oversee the timely delivery of data analysis outputs across multiple projects,.
• Explore innovative outputs to enhance the impact of the work and make best use of your own specialist skills, knowledge and experience in project design, delivery and dissemination.

Operation and development of the team:

Communications and impact:

• Communicate outputs effectively to internal team members, CSE staff wide, and external stakeholders.
• Create impact & recognition of research outputs, liaise with CSE's Comms team about disseminating outputs to key audiences and author CSE website pages and blog posts where relevant.

Professional development:

• Continuously improve research and analytical skills and expand knowledge of research areas relevant to CSE’s work programmes
• Stay current with relevant trends in energy social sciences to help foster innovation within CSE’s work.

Essential attributes for this role include:

• Degree level qualification or equivalent in a relevant topic
• Relevant formal research methods training – as part of degree course or continuing professional development
• Experience in management/coordination of small-scale research or evaluation projects or significant work packages with demonstrable success in delivering work on budget and on time.
• Track record of delivering research, with evidence of conducting primary data collection and analysis, inputting to study design and managing diverse and complex project data

The Head of Operations (Events and Access) acts as the deputy to the Lady or Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod. The International Organization for Migration in the United Kingdom (IOM UK) delivers a range of programming which includes the provision of immigration advice and casework support to vulnerable migrants in the United Kingdom. IOM UK is a registered Immigration Advice Authority (IAA) Level 3 Immigration and Asylum and Protection organisation.

Under the technical supervision of the Casework Supervisor and the overall supervision of the Senior Project Associate, Senior Programme Coordinator and Chief of Mission of IOM London, the incumbent will provide technical support to IOM’s Immigration Advice unit, IAA regulated casework and representation. The incumbent will also support the Casework Supervisor and Senior Project Associate in liaising with relevant stakeholders on matters related to policy, project development, implementation, and reporting, as well as participate in external forums and meetings.

The caseworker will provide IAA Level 1 Immigration Advice within community settings across Belfast, providing support, information and technical inputs to third sector organisations, second tier support, as well as direct one-to-one casework support to asylum seekers. This will also involve working with interpreters where necessary.

Based on identified needs and vulnerabilities, it is expected the caseworker will offer support predominantly to asylum seekers, but may include refugees, irregular migrants and people who have No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF).

SV 2 has been supporting victims and survivors of sexual abuse since 1994, and today provides a range of services to anyone in Derbyshire or Derby City who has experienced sexual abuse, assault or violence, including friends and family members. We're looking for a part-time(30 hour per week) Single Point of Access Officers (SPOA)to join our friendly, professional and passionate team to provide robust initial assessments of clients referred to our services, ensure that risks are identified and that people get the right support at the right time to help them deal with the impacts of sexual abuse.

The Head of Operations will work closely with the ED and support the team in the smooth running of the organisation. 

Role Requirements
