The National Lottery Community Fund is seeking a Head of Media. In this new role, created as part of our newly restructured and ambitious communications function, you will be growing and developing a team of 10 (5 direct reports) to lead the external communications in support of our Strategy, It starts with community.

You'll have the chance to shape this critical leadership position in ways that will define our external voice and influence for years to come. In this strategic role, you will increase public understanding of the Fund as a champion of community power, bringing to life how we strengthen society and improve lives across the UK, directly advancing our strategic objectives in each of the four nations.

As a member of the communications leadership team, you will:

• develop compelling value propositions and campaigns for our four missions designed to resonate with decision-makers, policymakers, and communities of all kinds.
• ·oversee our comprehensive content calendar and planning processes across earned, owned and shared media.
• use data and analytics effectively to provide actionable insights and performance analysis to continuously refine our approach
• act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on media relations and building our reputation
• work in close collaboration with funding officers, grant holders and partners to anticipate and mitigate risks in a structured way, handling sensitive media issues when they arise.
• build a strong reactive and proactive media and social media operation that supports the Fund’s wider strategic objectives.

We're looking for a strategic communications leader with significant experience at senior level in media, social media and external communications. The ideal candidate will bring:

• a sophisticated understanding of the UK media landscape, including national, regional, devolved and trade media
• a track record of building influential relationships
• understanding of the impact of the changing traditional and digital media environment and the challenges that presents to reaching diverse audiences.
• experience navigating complex stakeholder environments and balancing diverse priorities.

Your background might include communications leadership in government, non-profit, or large mission-driven organisations where you've demonstrated the ability to translate organisational objectives into impactful communications campaigns.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Manager with a locally-led charity dedicated to ensuring the rights of children in west Africa on a permanent, full-time basis. As Senior Finance Manager you will lead the charity’s financial operations and play an important part in strengthening their financial systems and processes. A key part of the role early on is to improve the quality of financial data collection and processing by the project teams.

Please note, this role requires some travel including attending the London office once per month. Additionally, candidates looking for 4 days per week may be considered.

As Senior Finance Manager, you will:

- Be responsible for running all of the charity’s financial operations

- Deliver timely, accurate, and insightful financial reports (including monthly and quarterly management accounts) for the CEO and Board

- Support the charity’s plans to scale by playing a lead role in financial planning for their new programme. This includes helping to design budgets and financial management systems

- Support fundraising colleagues in preparing budgets and financial reports for donors

- Work closely with colleagues in West Africa to ensure policies, systems, and processes effectively track and manage funds in compliance with internal agreements and donor restrictions (particularly around restricted/unrestricted funds)

The successful applicant will:

- Have significant demonstrable experience in finance within the charity sector (ideally a similar type of organisation) in a similar role

- Have a good understanding of charity financial reporting, audits, compliance, and managing multi-currency financial operations

- Be a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA etc)

- Have experience leading financial process improvements, particularly data collection and management reporting

- Be proficient in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced Excel skills

- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

They will also be a natural collaborator, working with key stakeholders such as The Head of Legal to provide high level technical advice to members of the Movement and TSA staff concerning governing documents and key decisions, whilst also supporting effective governance at headquarters.  

Key Responsibilities:

• As a key senior leader in the charity, and critical support to The Board of Trustees, provide strategic leadership for governance and its development at The Scouts
• Design and implement a strategic plan for the Governance function to meet the needs of the organisation
• Ensure that all legal vehicles across The Scout Association comply with all regulatory requirements and remain compliant with changes in charity law and the wider regulatory environment
• Work closely with the Head of Legal to ensure legal, regulatory and statutory compliance, and in particular that appropriate legal advice and guidance is applied to The Scouts decision making and governance processes, wherever, appropriate

About the role

At Young Lives vs Cancer, we have our own unique role to play in reaching the North Star. We know our strengths and where we can have the most impact to best support children and young people with cancer. Within our new strategy ‘The Time is Now’ we set out four strategic ambitions, the first stating we will continue to be a major service delivery provider: offering high quality, impactful services. We are proud to lead the way in delivering high-level, psychosocial support and accommodation services throughout cancer treatment, end-of-life, and bereavement and we want to ensure our investment in this area is optimised to make sure we always provide the tailored support that children, young people and families need and that our services remain relevant.

You will be joining an established operational leadership team who are committed to continuous service improvement. Service Managers play a key leadership role in the management and development of a region, which is made up of three social work teams located alongside Principal Treatment Centres which are Leeds, Newcastle and Sheffield. Your responsibilities will include delivering service standards, and compliance. You will interface with NHS stakeholder colleagues to promote effective governance and multi-disciplinary relationships with a focus on smooth referral pathways. The team meets weekly to discuss management of the overall service-this effectively allows all team members to play an active role. In addition, to your designated region you will have a lead area of responsibility-this will be Deputy Safeguarding Lead. This role works closely with the Head of Safeguarding to ensure effective management of safeguarding across the charity as well as spanning workforce development and the promotion of best practice.

This position has four direct reports, 3 Team Managers and one Regional Service Coordinator, the latter provides support to the Service Manager and regional teams.

We actively invest in your development and set clear expectations about deliverables and culture. We are looking for someone who is committed to best practice and responsiveness to the needs of children and young people. You will need to be a confident relationship builder, with a track record in social work management. This post requires registration with a professional social work body and criminal record checks.  

What will I be doing?

As well as work with male victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse in ways that support them to increase safety and reduce harm, as described in the Models of Work and relevant policies and procedures.

The Role

To undertake all aspects of warehouse duties, ensuring effective, safe and efficient distribution of food each day. You will have responsibility for coordination of our food stock, from goods-in to picking, dispatch and stock rotation and will be expected to drive vans, and Fork Lift Trucks (training provided). Working closely with the wider team and volunteers, you will also support the monitoring and utilisation of warehouse space, stock, deliveries and collections to ensure food reaches its destination amongst our members safely, on time and in full.

Key duties and responsibilities:

1. Operations

• Undertake all warehouse duties, ensuring effective, safe and efficient co-ordination and distribution and of food
• To work to performance indicators so that stock is accurate and delivery routes are efficient to allow the organisation to grow
• To ensure that all work areas – both inside and outside the warehouse - are clean, organised and safe to work in
• Follow all H&S and Food Safety standards set out in the FareShare policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all our colleagues & visitors, and the safe receipt of food by all our members.
• Undertake van/Fork Lift Truck driving duties to ensure effective, efficient timely and safe delivery & collection of food, in line with compliance standards
• Ensuring great customer service in delivery
• Loading and unloading, sorting for, and following deliveries, ensuring safe lifting, and carrying
• Keep vehicles refuelled, maintained, operational and clean and tidy, ready for the next delivery run
• Refer van “issues”, in a timely manner to Transport Department to ensure minimum disruption to service delivery
• Undertake all checks and procedures from pre-delivery to post-delivery
• Ensure lock up, parking and storage of vans and equipment following completion of deliveries

2. Volunteer Communication & Co-ordination

• Work closely with the volunteer teams a diverse group ranging from regular and long-term, volunteers, placements (e.g. Job Centre) to business people having just a 1-day volunteering experience – to ensure that all shift duties are covered and teams work effectively
• Provide leadership and guidance to volunteers, ensuring they follow all policies and procedures, high standards of accuracy are maintained and their volunteer experience with FSM is a satisfying one.

4. Administration

• Ensure that food movements are accurately logged on the electronic stock management system

About the role:

Respect is seeking two Helplines Team Leaders. You will be the main point of contact for the team of Advisors and provide line management support along with other focused meetings that guide their work with service users.

You will manage concerns raised by Advisors and make decisions on safety actions, and deal with complaints. You will oversee the implementation of a rota system that maximises resource capacity at peak call times to meet high demands. Work collaboratively with partner agencies that deliver programmes of support for both male victims and perpetrators, and set up signposting and referral processes that supports our work.

• At least two years’ experience of working on complex cases in a multi-agency environment and working with other professionals/agency to manage risk and safeguard vulnerable adults and children 
• An understanding of the root causes of domestic abuse, both individually and societal, and its effects on victims, in particular male victims

• Ability to lead a team using motivational strategies that inspire and create a positive working atmosphere
