About this role

This is an exciting opportunity within our newly established advocacy function to support the delivery of Working Animals International’s global advocacy strategy as part of a small, dedicated team.

Working closely with our Head of Advocacy, the Advocacy Officer will help shape and implement inclusive, evidence-based policy and advocacy initiatives that advance the welfare of working animals. The postholder will support engagement with governments, international institutions, our global partner network and wider stakeholders to drive systemic change.

Contract, location and salary

This is a full-time (34.5 hours per week) permanent role. This is a UK based role, with regular attendance (1-2 days per month, or more if preferred) in our London office, and applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

The salary for this role is c.£34k per annum, subject to skills and experience. Working Animals International offers a generous company pension scheme with a 10% employer contribution if the employee contributes a minimum 5%, and healthcare cashplan with Medicash alongside other benefits.

This is a particularly exciting moment for Bath Cats and Dogs Home. We’ll soon be merging with a neighbouring animal charity. Together, we’ll be stronger and more sustainable, working across a large area that stretches from west Wiltshire to the Bristol Channel, and doubling the size of the population we serve.

This new chapter will significantly expand our reach, increase our impact for local animals, and strengthen the support we can provide to pet owners across our communities. You’ll lead on developing and securing income from charitable trusts and foundations, managing existing relationships while identifying and cultivating new opportunities. Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and Retail and colleagues across the organisation, you’ll create compelling funding proposals, build strong funder relationships, and help bring innovative projects to life.

Global Senior Prospect Research Manager 

Role type: Full time; Permanent

Location: Godalming, UK (hybrid working pattern 2x days per week in the office). The office is located close to Godalming station, with direct trains from/to London Waterloo in approximately 45 minutes. 

Salary: £47,000 - £50,000 per annum (depending upon skills and experience)    

About the role  

As our Global Senior Prospect Research Manager, you’ll play a key role in helping Compassion in World Farming to end factory farming by strengthening our global prospect research function. 

This is an established and important role within our Global Philanthropy Team, central to building and sustaining a strong, high-quality prospect pipeline to support our fundraising growth ambitions. As part of this role, you’ll help shape and deliver prospect strategy, insight and KPIs aligned to our fundraising priorities and long-term organisational growth plans.

As our Global Senior Prospect Research Manager, you’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Prospect Research -Leading and strengthening the global prospect research function,ensuring it effectively supports ethical fundraising growth across key markets.
• High Potential Prospects-Identifying,researchingand prioritising high-potential prospects from Salesforce and other sources, working closely with colleagues in CRM & Insights.
• Profile Creation-Producing clear, high-quality prospect research profiles to support donor cultivation, relationshipdevelopmentand strategic decision-making.
• Ethical Screening -Leading on due diligence and ethical screening, ensuringa consistent and rigorous approach across donors and markets.

About you 

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to bring strong prospect research experience, from an international fundraising team or comparable environment, alongside a good understanding of global philanthropy trends, donor behaviour and ethical fundraising practice. 

You’ll have to be confident in turning research into clear, useful insight for fundraisers, with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams and communicate findings in a way that supports action. You’ll also have excellent attention to detail and the ability to self-manage a varied workload in a busy, values-led environment.

Skills and experience you’ll need to bring as our Global Senior Prospect Research Manager:

• Prospect research experience within an international fundraising team or comparable environment.
• Experience building and managing a prospect pipeline that supports income growth.
• Experience using a wide variety of resources to produce high-quality intelligence for fundraisers.
• Experience of due diligence and applying ethical fundraising policies.
• Strong understanding of prospect research systems and processes, with experience using CRM systems, ideally Salesforce.

We’re recruiting a Volunteer Coordinator for our Rehoming & Fostering Team in Hertfordshire! 

As Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll recruit, support, and inspire volunteers to enhance rehoming and fostering services, while promoting Blue Cross in the community and driving local volunteering initiatives. You’ll be joining a team who strive to be the best versions of themselves, so that they can do the best for the pets who need our help.

Our Volunteer Coordinators recruit and support our amazing volunteers in the local area, promote the benefits of volunteering and raise the awareness of our centre and Blue Cross.   

Our fostering service is an integral part of the rehoming process, supporting the delivery of our strategy by increasing the service so that Blue Cross can help more pets. 

As a Volunteer Coordinator you will be responsible for recruiting and supporting a diverse team of volunteers. Working closely with the Centre Manager and Assistant Managers, you will ensure that our volunteers are fully integrated into the team, ensuring that the team welcome and collaborate with these wonderful people.   

In addition to this, you will be building relationships with local communities and partners, promoting the benefits of volunteering to provide more targeted support. 

This role is part time over a 2 week rota:

As our Global Senior Mid-Level Giving Manager, you’ll lead the growth and development of Compassion’s global mid-level giving programme, the Circle of Compassion (annual donations over £/$/€1,000). This is a vital role, responsible for driving the strategic direction of the programme, growing income, and strengthening donor engagement and retention.

As our Global Senior Mid-Level Giving Manager, you’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Leading the Circle of Compassion programme globally- Driving strategic development, ambitious incomegrowthand expansion into priority markets.

• Delivering exceptional donor stewardship- Building strong, meaningful relationships with Circle members and supporting long-term engagement and increased giving.

About the Role 

You will play a key role in delivering our therapeutic programme. Reporting to the Therapeutic Programme Manager and supporting the Family Caseworker, you will help plan, prepare and facilitate meaningful therapeutic sessions for children and their families. This may include leading group sessions supported by Teaching Assistants or collaborating with teaching staff involved in each child’s care.

Temporary contract

This is a temporary position for 10 months, ideally commencing in early September and continuing until the end of the school year (July 2027). However, our priority is to appoint the right candidate, and we would be willing to offer some flexibility on the start date to accommodate this.

Working across the whole secretariat, from campaigns to communications to fundraising, this role is critical in the running of the organisation and supporting the aims of the coalition.

The Membership Engagement Manager will ensure TCC effectively supports its membership to become more than the sum of its parts, playing a pivotal role in strengthening and expanding our coalition by building and facilitating meaningful relationships with member organisations, both new and existing. This position is responsible for enhancing member engagement, ensuring the delivery of value to our members, and supporting the organisation's strategic objectives through effective membership management and communications.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Member Engagement & Support

• Serve as the primary point of contact for member organisations, addressing inquiries and providing support to enhance member satisfaction.

• Develop and implement strategies to increase member engagement, including organising events, webinars, and networking opportunities, including regular All Coalition Meetings and Annual Movement Gatherings.

• Facilitate onboarding processes for new members, ensuring a smooth integration into the coalition.

• Ongoing relationship management of members, including effective outreach and communications

• Invoicing membership fees and ensuring payment is made

• Lead on communications to members through a regular newsletter and ad-hoc communications around campaigns

• Supporting members to engage with TCC activity

Membership Growth & Retention

• Design and execute membership recruitment campaigns to attract new member organisations.

• Monitor membership trends and feedback to develop retention strategies and reduce member attrition.

• Collaborate with the Digital Campaigns Manager to promote membership benefits and success stories.

Data Management & Reporting

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date membership records using the organisation's CRM system.

• Generate regular reports on membership statistics, engagement levels, and feedback to inform strategic decisions.

• Analyse data to identify opportunities for enhancing member value and engagement.

Infrastructure to support Collective Impact

• Responsible for the maintenance and development of the central Member Resource Hub

• Responsibility for managing the day to day delivery of the Local Intelligence Hub project (online data hub providing climate-relevant data at a constituency level), including being the key contact with our external partner organisation who maintain and develop the hub, and keeping TCC members and staff involved and informed about the project as needed.

PERSON SPECIFICATION 

Essential

• Proven experience in membership management, stakeholder engagement, or a related field.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, using facilitation skills to bring people together in a meaningful way

• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

• Some experience of line management of volunteers or paid staff

We are River Action

We are a small and agile campaigning organisation on a mission to rescue the UK’s rivers from a toxic cocktail of agricultural, sewage and industrial pollution and water shortages. We support community action, galvanise and mobilise public opinion, influence government policy, take legal actions and call out destructive industrial practices to incentivise changes that end river pollution and secure freshwater.

Who we are looking for

We're looking for an exceptional campaigner to lead an ambitious environmental campaigning  programme for just over a year to cover maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspiring leader who can develop bold, strategic campaigns that shift public debate, influence decision-makers and deliver tangible environmental outcomes.

You'll be an experienced campaign strategist who understands that lasting change rarely comes from a single tactic. You'll know how to bring together compelling communications, evidence and investigations, grassroots mobilisation, political engagement, legal interventions and partnerships into integrated campaigns capable of changing policy, behaviour and corporate practice.

We're looking for someone who combines strategic vision with practical delivery. Someone who is comfortable making decisions in a fast-moving environment, spotting opportunities as they emerge and adapting campaigns to maximise impact.

What you’ll be doing:

As Head of Campaigns, you will be developing and delivering bold, integrated campaigns that drive lasting change for the UK's rivers. Leading River Action's Campaigns Team, you will shape the organisation's campaigning strategy, ensuring our work is innovative, evidence-led and designed to influence public opinion, hold polluters to account and secure meaningful political and systemic change. You'll create campaigns that connect compelling storytelling with community mobilisation, strategic communications, political advocacy, legal action and partnerships, ensuring every part of our work contributes towards our mission to rescue the UK’s rivers.

You'll provide strategic leadership across the full campaign lifecycle, overseeing campaign planning, delivery, budgeting, resourcing and evaluation. You will lead River Action's communications and public profile, ensuring our campaigns cut through the national conversation, inspire public action and strengthen our reputation as one of the UK's leading environmental campaigning organisations. You’ll oversee media, messaging and campaign communications that amplify our voice and build public support for change.

Internally, you'll work in close partnership with the Head of Public Affairs to ensure our public campaigns reinforce and accelerate our political influencing work, while ensuring community campaigns and grassroots action inform our national priorities. You'll also work alongside the Head of Legal to develop campaigns involving strategic litigation to achieve change within and outside of court and legal processes, using legal action as a catalyst for wider public awareness, policy change and industry accountability.

As a member of River Action's Senior Management Team, you'll help shape the strategic direction of the organisation and contribute to organisational leadership beyond your own department. You'll work alongside the CEO and fellow Heads of Department to deliver our organisational strategy, embedding collaboration, innovation and impact across all areas of our work.

You'll also play a key role in securing the resources needed to deliver our ambitions. Working with the Head of Development, you'll help develop compelling funding proposals, inspire funders with our vision and demonstrate the impact of our work through robust monitoring, evaluation and reporting. Working with the Finance and Operations Manager, you'll oversee campaign budgets, ensuring resources are managed effectively and strategically.

Main Duties 

• Provide strategic leadership as a member of the Senior Management Team, supporting the CEO to deliver River Action's organisational strategy, theory of change and long-term vision.

• Lead the development and delivery of River Action's integrated campaigning strategy, ensuring our public campaigns drive measurable environmental, political and societal change.

• Develop and oversee a portfolio of ambitious national campaigns, identifying opportunities to influence public opinion, policy, regulation and industry practice through innovative and impactful campaigning.

• Lead River Action's communications, media and public engagement strategy, ensuring compelling storytelling, strong brand visibility and effective use of traditional, digital and social media to grow our influence and supporter base.

• Lead the planning and delivery of River Action’s creative interventions and actions, from polling, petitions and shareholder actions to public protests and high-profile actions.

• Serve as a senior public representative and spokesperson for River Action, building the organisation's profile and influence through media engagement, public speaking, stakeholder engagement and high-profile external events.

• Oversee River Action's digital campaigning platforms, including the strategic development of our website and digital engagement tools.

• Work closely with the Head of Public Affairs  to ensure campaigns and political advocacy are fully integrated, maximising opportunities to influence government, regulators and decision-makers.

• Lead campaign planning, governance and delivery, ensuring campaigns are effectively resourced, managed and evaluated against agreed objectives, budgets and monitoring, evaluation and reporting (MER) frameworks.

You will process and monitor financial transactions, liaise with our payroll bureau regarding staff payroll and pensions and support the Head of finance. You will be experienced in using Dynamics 365 Business Central as an accounting system.

This is a part-time role for two days a week (0.4FTE), with flexibility about when the hours are worked. Overall Purpose
The purpose of this role is to support the generation of vital community raised income to support the running costs of the Branch’s Animal Care and Rehoming services, while also developing, leading and delivering a branch-wide commercially viable, inclusive and comprehensive volunteering programme.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Restoring Rivers & Catchments team. In this role, you will oversee a portfolio of large-scale environmental projects, typically valued between £300,000 and £1 million, working with key partners including water companies, the Environment Agency, local authorities and consultants.

Site locations

The SERT region, covers the south east of England, extending from Hampshire in the west to Kent in the east, with the northern border being south of the Thames, extending down to the English Channel.

Our office is based in Leatherhead which you will be required to attend up to 4 times a month.

The amount of travel required depends on the role, and can be extensive. Most travel for an individual will be to work on project sites, which can be remote, or attending external meetings within the SERT region. The geographical range and frequency of travel is role dependent.

The Chilterns Conservation Board (CCB) is a statutory body established by Parliamentary Order in 2004.
