The Head of Finance’s key priorities, in close collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team, are to lead and support the strategic and annual financial planning processes, and to prepare and analyse accurate and timely financial information for the Board of Trustees and the Directors of the Trading Company, ensuring compliance with all external financial reporting requirements.
Main Duties:
1. To provide an effective and accurate financial management and accountancy service to the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.
2. Prepare annual budgets and monitor performance on a monthly basis against plan by the preparation and issue of monthly budget statements. Make recommendations on costing assumptions to be included within all budgets. For example, inflation rates.
3. Support the strategic direction of the business by leading on the preparation of 5 year financial forecasts to support strategic planning and to ensure the long term financial viability of the business.
4. Prepare and maintain financial accounts in a timely fashion and ensure they are consistent with external financial reporting standards and requirements.
5. Provide monthly financial information to the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.
6. Prepare cash flow reports on a regular/quarterly basis and monitor cash requirements and advise the Board of Trustees, Directors of the Trading Company and Executive Leadership Team on the liquidity position of the business.
7. Provide advice on all financial matters, including issues arising in connection with charity legislation, to ensure that the business meets its legal financial obligations and complies will all external regulatory requirements.
8. Liaise with H.M. Revenue and Customs and VAT consultants regarding records and payments and ensure compliance with all regulations.
9. Ensure the provision of a monthly payroll service and ensure delivery of an accurate, reliable and quality payroll service to all staff.
10. To liaise with all regulatory external bodies in connection with any financial or charity matters, i.e. auditors, accountants, bank, solicitors, Charity Commission, Companies House, insurance company, pension advisors and others.
11. Annual completion of the Charity Commission self-assessment, ensuring that we comply with best practice.
12. Attend the meetings of the local networking groups as required.
13. Review and monitor performance of the business’s investments and provide up to date reports to the Board of Trustees, enabling them to make appropriate investment decisions.
14. As part of financial reporting, complete regular analysis of all income and expenditure, supporting budget holders as required to identify areas where cost savings and efficiencies can be made.
15. Support in the preparation of business cases as necessary across the business.
16. Support in the preparation of benchmarking information to assist in the determination of opportunities to improve the organisation’s financial position.
17. Support the business’s efforts to maximise income from all sources providing financial information and attending committees and other forums as required to assist in this.
18. Develop and maintain an asset register of all property across the business. Ensure capital accounting policies are agreed annually by the Finance Committee.
19. Ensure appropriate financial procedures, financial governance and policies are in place across the business and ensure they are regularly reviewed and appropriate.
20. Ensure good systems of financial control and checks are in place for all assets.
21.To manage and support staff in the Finance Department, ensuring they have the right knowledge and skills to carry out their duties effectively.
22. Ensure that all members of the leadership team (ELT and SLT) and the board have the necessary knowledge and support regarding financial matters including the provision of training if necessary.
23. Attend committees and key meetings to present relevant financial information at the request of the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.
Performance Standards:
1. Annual income and expenditure budgets are approved annually and monitored monthly.
2. Management Accounts are aimed to be completed within 10 working days of month end and available for the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.
3. Regulatory requirements are met as and when they fall due.
4. The provision of an accurate and reliable set of annual financial statements.
5. Meet with statutory and external organisations in a timely and professional manner.
6. Quarterly VAT returns, Annual Corporation Tax returns and other statutory returns are submitted in a timely manner.
7. With regard to financial records and reporting, to comply with and meet the standards of the Care Quality Commission.
8. Completion of all Charity Commission regulatory requirements.
9. Ensure that we have robust financial systems in place for all assets and liabilities incorporating monthly reviews of creditors and debtors.
10. Ensure financial information requirements of the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company are met in a timely manner.
11. Ensure that the business has financial systems and processes in place that will comply with regulatory requirements for healthcare services.
12. Be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team participating in all relevant meetings contributing where possible, to the achievement of business objectives.
13. To take rotational responsibility as Out of Hours Duty Manager, if required.
14. Provide advice, support and information to the Executive Leadership Team; Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company on financial matters enabling the business to meet its objectives.
General Duties:
1. To liaise with Head of Human Resources to advise, where necessary, on all salary and pension matters, keeping up to date with changing legislation.
2. To communicate with the banks, HMRC, Department of Work and Pensions and all other relevant external bodies regarding all pension, tax and National Insurance issues.
3. To liaise with all Senior Leadership team colleagues to ensure payroll data is accurate and kept up to date.
4. To liaise with the Head of Fundraising in matters relating to fundraising income and expenditure and the fundraising and lottery database, ensuring that any information is an accurate reflection of income and expenditure.
5. To liaise with the Head of Retail in matters relating to the trading company’s income and expenditure, ensuring that all information provided is accurate.
6. To verify that insurance cover is appropriate and adequate for the various business functions and to ensure that it is kept up to date.
7. To ensure that there is compliance across the business with financial statutory regulations and internal financial policies.
8. Ensure that there is a robust information governance regime across all financial matters across the business.
9. To undertake and manage the annual appraisal process for the Finance Team, identifying any training and development needs.
10. Ensure that all members of the Finance Team attend mandatory and statutory training as required and that evaluations are undertaken to monitor effectiveness.
11. The post holder will adhere to all relevant legislation and policies of the business.
12. Any other reasonable duties as directed by the Executive Leadership Team, the Boarof Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.

About Working Well Trust
Working Well Trust is a mental health and employment charity in London. All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health support needs, learning disabilities and/or complex issues through training and employment.
We are recruiting a IPS Employment Advisor to join our IPS service part time, you will be based in the borough of Newham, working 17.5 hours per week. Working Well Trust's services have previously been awarded the IPS Grow quality mark and adheres closely to the principles of the IPS model in supporting people in to employment. This role will be working with clients who have mental health support needs, wanting to gain paid employment.
Experience of employment support is not essential, it is more important that you share our passion and commitment to employment as an integral aspect of wellbeing and supporting people to find the right job for them. You will receive training on the IPS model and in supporting people with mental health issues. You need to have a desire to support people to achieve their employment goals, and the ability to multitask and manage your workload effectively. Good organisation skills are essential for this role, in addition to an interest in mental health, and the role it plays in the workplace. What you’ll be doing
You will work with clients (managing a caseload) who have mental health support needs, to assist them in securing sustainable paid employment in line with their preferences. You will deliver the IPS approach (for which training will be given); providing person centred support and guidance to clients, whilst building positive relationships with local employers to enable clients to move into suitable employment.
You will work as part of a mental health team (NHS Trust) maintaining positive and integrated relationships, fostering a holistic approach to recovery through employment. You will work closely with clinical teams, providing a coordinated approach that always remains client led. You will also be working to targets whilst maintaining a high-quality service.
What you’ll need
Experience in employment support is not essential. We are looking for someone who brings:

Our Community Buildings Service supports volunteers and hall managers by providing networking opportunities, training, newsletters, an online forum, and bespoke individual advice and support.
This is an exciting time for the service as we look to expand its reach and further develop our offer. The Project Support and Communications Officer will work closely with our Senior Community Buildings Adviser to support the delivery and development of the service across Sussex. You will be the first point of contact for enquirers, helping subscribers to the service to access our platforms. You will help to plan our training and events programme and provide administrative and logistical support. Overall Purpose
This role works as part of a flexible delivery team to support the development, delivery and management of initiatives that enable and demonstrate our members ability to transform the NHS.

Development and Delivery
• Working with Programme Leads and Project Managers, establish and maintain robust up-to-date project management documentation to drive the implementation of NHS Charities Together transformational programmes: including capturing impact and benefits management in line with our overall strategic goals, risk and issue logs, managing milestones, workstream plans.
• Support Project Managers and Programme Leads and where delegated lead processes to convene, capture and synthesise evidence, data and insight from external sources to support the development and design of initiatives.
• Proactively build knowledge and understanding in the subject areas in which we develop initiatives, bringing this to bear in the shaping of existing initiatives and the development of new, and support wider organisational learnings in these domains.

About the role
The Impact and Learning Consultant will play a central role in advancing how the Vitol Foundation understands, measures and deepens its impact. They will build on existing frameworks, tools and processes developed by our Head of Impact, Learning and Strategy who is due to go on maternity leave, as well as bring their own expertise to further strengthen our approach to impact and learning, embedding it into our day-to-day decisions. As our lead expert in this area, the Consultant will ensure that our strategy and grantmaking are guided by emerging data and evidence, and support continuous learning across all our work.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in the field of measurement and evaluation, combining strategic leadership experience with strong hands-on technical skills to support Foundation colleagues and nonprofit partners. They will have experience with a wide range of quantitative and qualitative research methods and working in global settings, especially to support local partners operating in low-resource and/or emergency environments. This role requires someone with excellent communication skills, translating complex findings into clear, actionable insights tailored to different audiences, including Vitol Foundation colleagues, our board and non-technical external stakeholders.
Above all, the candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to the vision, mission and values of the Vitol Foundation and improving people’s lives. They will report directly to our CEO and be part of a small but enthusiastic team of people committed to making a difference. The position is based at the Foundation’s office in London, United Kingdom.
Key responsibilities
Impact measurement and reporting
- Continue rollout of the foundation‑level impact framework across our grant portfolio, making ongoing adjustments and clarifications as it’s being road-tested with a growing number of grantees.
- Design and refine grant‑level impact measures. Develop impact indicators for new grants and review existing ones, working closely with programme managers and partners to ensure alignment with project goals, partner capacity and the foundation‑level impact framework.
- Review and strengthen data quality of incoming partner reports to ensure that progress is meaningfully captured through quantitative and qualitative indicators. Check for clarity, completeness, consistency and data quality, and provide feedback or make revisions as needed.
- Support uptake and adjustments to our impact dashboards in Salesforce to ensure clarity and usefulness for Foundation colleagues. Work with the Operations Manager and external developers to implement changes where needed.
Learning and strategy implementation
- Regularly synthesise and share lessons learned from across our grant portfolio as well as from the wider international development sector. Highlight emerging data, evidence and findings, and their implications for the Foundation’s strategy and grants.
- Conduct rapid evidence reviews to inform sector‑level strategies and individual grants as they are developed or revised. Work closely with programme leads and partners to ensure emerging evidence is reflected in design and implementation, and to identify ways to build credible evidence to strengthen the impact of our grants.
- Serve as a technical expert for externally-led evaluations of our grants, including reviewing research protocols, data collection tools, analysis plans, and consent and safeguarding processes. Note: evaluations will be commissioned by external parties, this role will not manage evaluation contracts or teams.
Internal and external communications
- Draw out insights from impact data, other programme documents and external sources to inform management and board reporting, including regular tracking of portfolio‑level outcomes, key trends and lessons learned.
- Work with the Head of Communications to draft content for internal and external audiences, using relevant data and statistics and creating compelling visualisations that reinforce key messages.
Qualifications
Essential
- Educational background: Advanced degree in a relevant field (for example, public policy, global development, business administration).
- Professional experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in impact measurement, strategic learning, or programme evaluation in philanthropy, non-profits or social impact sectors.
- Analytical rigour and insight: Demonstrated ability to synthesise complex data and strategic insights; proven record of shaping high-level organisational strategies.
- Facilitation and communication: Strong skills in facilitating discussions, presenting insights to senior leadership, and translating complex data into accessible, strategic information.
- Project management and adaptability: Track record of managing complex research and evaluation projects with multiple stakeholders; able to balance strategic oversight with hands-on problem solving.
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Familiarity with using Salesforce as a grant management system.

Creative Green and Creative Climate Partnerships
Julie’s Bicycle’s Creative Green and Partnerships programme works with individual organisations and networks through consultancy and partnership. The programme combines sustainability expert advice, networking and peer-to-peer knowledge, supporting a wide variety of organisations in arts and culture to embed environmental sustainability into their value. From developing environmental action plans and training to designing net-zero pathways and sustainable exhibitions, we support organisations in incorporating sustainability into their strategy and governance, understanding their ecological impacts, and developing and monitoring action plans and practices.
We collaborate to enable practical action for transformational change by working with diverse cultural organisations, including those in visual arts, museums, galleries, and theatre. Our Creative Green team partners with various organisations such as the British Film Institute, British Council Americas, Green Libraries Partnership, Tomas Saraceno Studio, Goethe Institute, Independent Cinema Office, Arts Council Ireland, and numerous European funding programmes. Julie’s Bicycle is the partner for the Arts Council’s Environmental Programme, supporting organisations to take environmental action and meet their funding requirements and supporting the Arts Council to drive positive environmental change within the sector. The programme focuses on delivering support to organisations in: reporting their impacts and taking action using the Creative Climate Tools; running events, peer sharing sessions, webinars, signposting to and developing resources to deepen understanding around data use, and relevant topics in sustainability; broadening access to climate literacy via e-learning; providing a strand of workshops to provide targeted support for artists, creatives and freelancers, and; to inspire, develop and nurture sector leadership via a number of dedicated programme strands focused on governance, justice, resilience and decarbonisation. We are looking for an outstanding individual to join our team as a Climate Change & Sustainability Specialist, to lead and facilitate the management of strands of work on these programmes:

The work involves project-managing and delivering key partnership projects, and supporting collaboration with both subsidised and commercial cultural organisations, as well as with networks of organisations, funding bodies, cities, and local authorities. We focus on projects that generate knowledge that can be shared with the broader sector to promote climate action.
Candidates will have strong knowledge of the environment and climate, including their root causes, impacts, key issues, solutions, and approaches. You will have the confidence to embed sustainable practices across operations, strong facilitation skills, and the ability to drive change and governance in organisations and networks.
You will be passionate about the cultural sector's unique role in accelerating a just energy transition and inspiring wider action. We would particularly welcome expertise in community energy networks and solutions, nature restoration and carbon sinks, and broad environmental management and the just transition.
You will have proven project management experience and be able to combine strategic thinking with on-the-ground delivery across all project stages, leading consultancy activities, including mentoring clients and running public-facing sessions. An excellent communicator and confident project manager, you will have a flexible, solution-focused approach.
Responsibilities
As part of the Creative Green and Creative Climate Partnerships team, our Climate Change & Sustainability Specialist will manage partnerships, working closely with a wide range of high-profile organisations in the arts and culture sector to help them understand, manage and improve their commitments to climate action and a just transition. A typical month might involve developing sustainability advice for cultural organisations supported by international cooperation, developing and delivering sustainability training for libraries, researching opportunities for climate action for artistic residencies, analysing environmental management data and writing recommendations and reports, helping write new proposals for partnership development, creating recommendations to influence cultural policy funding in the UK and Europe, creating a net zero plan for museums and theatres, supporting the sustainable production of exhibitions and performances.
With the Arts Council England programme, you will lead the management and delivery of the strand focused on decarbonisation, working collaboratively with the team. There is a significant opportunity to shape the programme to support organisations in decarbonising across key focus areas, including community energy schemes, district heat networks, nature-based solutions, circular economy initiatives, and energy management approaches, among others. Beyond this key strand, they will collaborate with the team to support aspects of delivery and contribute to team activities across the wider programme as appropriate. They will also collaborate on delivery support and contribute to wider team activities.
Key responsibilities:
Project scoping and proposal writing
- Actively seek partnership development opportunities that align with our strategy and aims.

Project Management and delivery
- Full project management, including managing timelines, resources, contracts, and budgets. This includes high quality, timely delivery of project strands, resources and events within the Creative Green and Partnership programme.
- Managing and delivering the decarbonisation strand of the Arts Council England environmental programme, and evolving the focus and support provided for organisations in line with sector needs.
- Designing and facilitating training and focus groups for organisations and specific stakeholder groups/networks, leadership sessions in person and/or virtual.
- Analysing environmental data focusing on energy, materials, carbon footprint calculation, environmental data and science-based targets and life cycle analyses.
- Developing strategic pathways for organisations to decarbonise towards achieving Net Zero Carbon emissions with emphasis on a Just transition and sustainability plans for cultural organisations. Carrying out the necessary research to respond to specific organisational / sector challenges.

Experience And Skills
Essential
- Significant experience (five to seven years) of working in environmental sustainability programmes or a similar role.
- Demonstrable experience of successfully managing environmental projects, working in partnership with external organisations
- A degree in environmental science/studies/management/sustainability and/or another relevant academic discipline area, or evidence of equivalent expertise.
- A proactive, flexible approach, and the ability to progress work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- An interest in the arts and culture, the role they can play in the climate crisis, and the sustainability issues that impact this sector.

The role:
The Finance Business Partner will be the principal point of contact for their relevant departments and stakeholders for financial and business needs, supporting the Globe’s support divisions and capital projects.
The skills:
- Studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
- A comprehensive understanding of technical accounting (double-entry, accruals & prepayments, cost centres, experience of using an accounting system and using Pos)
- An interest and knowledge of theatre and/or the charity sector
- Sound working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to absorb and classify information and arrange appropriately; quickly locating and retrieving relevant target information.
- Organised approach to work: methodical, accurate and attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working at all levels, internally and externally.
- A proactive, “can do” attitude with a strong customer service focus.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment and be a supportive team member.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Willingness to be flexible and to adapt to new demands in a fast-moving environment.
- Able to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.

We are seeking a Chief Finance Officer who will provide strategic financial leadership, playing a pivotal role in securing the long-term sustainability of this nationally significant Cathedral.
Position: Chief Finance Officer

The Role
This is a pivotal senior leadership role with responsibility for the overall financial health, sustainability and strategic direction of the Cathedral. Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Chapter and senior colleagues, you will provide robust financial leadership while supporting income generation, investment planning and effective use of resources across a complex charity operation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading financial strategy, planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting across all Cathedral entities
- Overseeing monthly management accounts, statutory reporting and audit processes
- Managing financial risk, cash flow forecasting and investment of liquid funds
- Supporting and advising trustees and committees with clear financial analysis
- Identifying and developing new income streams including commercial activity, grants and fundraising
- Providing financial oversight for new projects and strategic initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with Charity Commission and Church of England financial requirements
- Managing and developing the finance team
- Overseeing IT strategy and third party service providers to ensure value for money

About You
You will be a qualified accountant with senior level experience and the confidence to operate both strategically and hands on within a values led organisation.
You will bring:
- A recognised accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA
- Recent senior financial leadership experience, ideally within a charity or heritage setting
- Strong commercial awareness and experience of income generation
- Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
- Experience of financial risk management and investment decision making
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders
- A collaborative leadership style with strong people management skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects effectively
- Experience of Xero or the ability to learn new systems quickly
You do not need to be a member of the Church of England but should be in sympathy with the organisation’s mission and values.

About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Individual Giving Fundraiser to support the Supporter Development team as Individual Giving Fundraiser.
This is an exciting and varied role will be providing a key role in developing and increasing income, donor acquisition and engagement across SSCH’s Individual Giving fundraising programme, including legacies. The post will work to maximise potential and develop both new and existing donors, through targeted donor development campaigns, supporter acquisition and retention programmes.
The post holder will work flexibly across the Individual Giving income streams including individual donations, campaigns, gifts in memory and legacies. As part of this, a key responsibility will be the relationship management and support to any of our supported families who choose to fundraise for SSCH. This role will also support with legacy administration.
This role will combine a targeted driven approach with excellent donor care and relationship management helping to drive growth and income.
About you
The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience within a fundraising or comparable role. Ideally the candidate will have some legacy administration experience.
You will also have an ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of the wider fundraising team to ensure success of income growth.
