This is a senior position, with significant responsibility, and would suit someone who brings a wealth of experience of media relations.
You’ll be joining a campaigns department that runs numerous high-profile campaigns every year, secures extensive media coverage and supports their General Secretary to demand change for working people.
In this general election year, unions will be out there fighting for jobs and for a New Deal for Working People.

Heritage of London Trust restores the buildings and monuments that tell the story of the city and the people who live within it. Founded over 40 years ago, our mission was to rescue characterful and neglected historic sites all across the city. We focus on sites at risk in areas of least investment - in local communities that most need our help - ensuring a sustainable future for every project we work on. To date, we have restored nearly 800 sites across London.
In 2020 we launched our ground-breaking Proud Places youth programme to inspire and engage young people with the world around them, helping them develop knowledge and skills now and for the future. We work with mainstream schools across London and are the only UK heritage organisation to specialise in working with excluded pupils, young people at risk of gang exploitation and young refugees. To date we have worked with 6,000 young people and the programme continues to expand.
As our programme work has grown, so has our team and investment into our fundraising capability. We are now looking for a dedicated fundraiser who will help us build on our relationship based fundraising activity to grow our income. The Head of Philanthropy is a new role reporting to the Chief Executive.
We have a great pipeline of corporate partners, opportunities with charitable foundations and attractive offers for our dedicated group of high-value supporters to experience our work up close. Our Board of Trustees are committed and well connected, many of them are generous personal donors. We steward our supporters through a series of high-quality events such as intimate lunches, VIP behind-the-scenes visits, site based workshops and expert-led conferences.
We are looking for a Head of Philanthropy who shares our ambition and drive and is excited to work closely with a dedicated and collaborative team while enjoying autonomy to build on our great work to date. Based in a vibrant newly developed impact-hub for charities who work with young people, this role will work in partnership with senior peers in communications and programmes, alongside a fundraising assistant and the Chief Executive, who herself was a professional fundraiser.

Following a period of growth and the completion of their new £14.5m Garsington Studios, Garsington Opera are seeking a talented Chief Financial Officer to join them to drive strategic and commercial goals for this internationally renowned and well-loved performing arts organisation.
About The Role
The newly created Chief Financial Officer role will support Garsington Opera in driving longer-term commercial and strategic growth. Working closely with the Executive Director and as part of the senior management team, you will optimise new revenue streams and ensure business and financial systems are fit for purpose in supporting new revenue growth. Areas of responsibility will include:
Financial strategy and planning
- Collaborate with the SMT to plan, manage and advise on financial performance, maintaining a robust model to meet organisational needs including annual budgeting and long-term planning.
- Develop and maintain robust business and financial models to meet the evolving needs of the organisation.
- Steer and develop commercial revenue streams.
- Provide financial vision, strategic planning and discipline across the organisation.
Financial accounting and management
- Oversee, maintain and develop good financial reporting and statutory compliance, in collaboration with the Finance Director
- Oversee the preparation of accounts for external audit work.
- Provide information to SMT budget holders, challenging plans where appropriate and always seeking opportunities to optimise financial performance.
Leadership
- Provide reports on financial information and trends to the Board and its committees.
- Provide excellent team leadership as a member of SMT, engaging with all direct and indirect reports.
- Develop and lead effective and robust procurement policies for the organisation, ensuring that needs are understood and resourced appropriately.
- Staff management of finance team
About You
- You will be a fully qualified accountant with senior financial leadership experience.
- You will have proven experience in engaging with Board members and Executive or Senior Management Teams.

What’s in it for you?
- Salary of £80,000 - £90,000 per annum dependent on experience
- Annual leave: 24 days + Bank Holidays (incremental increases up to 28 days thereafter dependent on years of service)
- This role can be offered on a full time or part-time basis. Applicants who are able to work either full time or 0.8 FTE are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Hybrid working of 3 days in office and remainder up to you (please note that we are happy to discuss alternative patterns of working within reason).
- 4 x Dress rehearsal tickets for each opera performed each year.

The Director of Development will architect and steer a complete fundraising strategy that amplifies the Theatres’ financial resilience and propels its strategic ambitions in line with the current Strategic Plan 2024-2029. The postholder will cultivate and deepen relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders including donors, sponsors and partners and will personally work with the Theatre’s most committed donors. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Development will innovate within fundraising campaigns and use their skills in major donor fundraising to expand the Theatre’s financial base.
The best person for this position will be able to demonstrate a track record of securing significant funding within the UK arts sector and will enjoy realising ambitious fundraising strategies that have advanced an organisation’s mission. HCT operate visitor attractions, galleries, museums, and arts centres across Hampshire, and are responsible for conserving and maintaining one of the largest and most significant regional collections of historical artefacts in the country. HCT are now seeking to appoint a Director of Development to lead and deliver a trust-wide strategic approach to fundraising, in alignment with organisational needs and priorities. The director will develop and lead a high performing team and will be responsible for growing income from a range of sources, including trusts and grants, individual giving and developing a philanthropy programme based on a portfolio of designated funds to support strategic projects and ongoing revenue funding. This role sits on the SLT, with shared responsibility for setting and realising the organisation’s goals, strategic priorities, and business plan.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
- Significant experience in fundraising, including developing and implementing successful development strategies and securing income from a wide range of sources.
- Significant experience in securing philanthropic gifts at the five and six figure level.
- Strong track record in developing successful proposals and securing grants from trusts and statutory funders, with an ability to convey information in a concise, relevant, and compelling way.
- Experience of managing and developing high-performing teams, and senior stakeholder relationships, including donors and funders.
- Good working knowledge of charity finance, budgeting, and reporting.

We are seeking an experienced strategic leader to oversee the finances and operation of Nottingham Playhouse.
The Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for the overall financial leadership of Nottingham Playhouse’s business functions.
