At MediCinema storytelling is a vital aspect of our Communications and Marketing. Working in collaboration with our Fundraising and Operations teams, your professional experience will directly help us in building an emotional connection to our cause, building trust, relatability, inspiring engagement and support. You will help us demonstrate our impact to our priority stakeholders and in continuing to give a voice to our beneficiaries and service users.

We are looking for relevant and demonstrable experience of building strong threads and narratives with clear understanding of digital communications and marketing in relation to the strategic direction of the charity, together with the fundraising needs. 

Reporting to our Communications Director, the Communications and Marketing Executive will be responsible for contributing to and implementing effective strategies mainly across our social channels, to build profile and awareness and share the exceptional work and benefits delivered by MediCinema team. This exciting new role involves all aspects of the communications mix, provides a platform to get stuck into hands-on digital and traditional marketing work and will help to deliver compelling and consistent communications across our channels.

About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, this post plays a key role in securing and stewarding major gifts from individuals and private trusts and foundations. You will be managing and actively developing existing donors, as well as proactively identifying and cultivating new donor opportunities. The role will involve attending cultivation and stewardship events as well as liaising with the prospect research function and wider Philanthropy team. You will also be responsible for managing and developing one Philanthropy Officer.

The successful candidate will be an effective face-to-face fundraiser with experience of securing high value donations and managing the full lifecycle of significant donor relationships.

You will be highly motivated and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and financial targets, with excellent communication and people management skills. Strong administrative and organisational skills are essential for this role.

Financial Strategy and Management

• Co-creating and monitoring budgets, org-wide and for projects

Human Resources

• Communicating with our community members, artists and staff about invoicing requirements and payment details, mindful of individuals’ complex needs

• Overseeing setup and budgeting of employment benefits, bonuses, commission, freelance contracts and how to integrate these

• Overseeing creation of a platform for communicating financials transparently to our community of marginalised artists (longer term)

Funding Support

• Note: this is a support role as one of the Artistic Directors will spearhead new funding applications, you will not be applying independently

• Researching and identifying new funding streams, archiving applications, making templates

• Seeking advice from current funders and NGO partners about where to apply

• Tracking funding applications, reporting deadlines, meeting financial requirements

• Following-up on investors, scheduling regular communications with Artistic Directors.
   

Essential skills and requirements

• Proficiency with Mac and Windows

• Three years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in the charity, arts, or activism sector

• Strong ICT skills including relevant accounting/reporting software and G-Suite

• An excellent eye for detail and consistency

Working within the IT Department, the Senior Support Analyst is the primary resource responsible for advanced 3rd line support of our systems, infrastructure, and networks. This covers both troubleshooting complex issues as they arise, as well as handling system implementations, maintenance, and configuration changes. You will help to ensure our IT services to our residents, members, and the Trust staff, are of the highest quality. In particular you will be responsible for the management of the broader Somerset House wired and wireless networks, resolving network issues, configuring switching, routing, and firewalls. • Deal with and resolve escalations from the Support Analysts for residents, members, event partners, and Trust IT support issues and requests, ensuring that services are provided to the agreed standards.
• Resolve all reported IT issues in a professional and timely manner, documenting all activity on the service desk ticketing system, conforming to SLAs, and adjusting priorities to deal with urgent issues and requests.
• Where appropriate, escalate issues to external vendors as required and monitor the escalation to ensure satisfactory resolution. Escalations to external vendors are rare and it is expected that almost all cases would be resolved inhouse.
• Monitor and manage ticket queues, alerts, automated tickets, and perform daily checks on various systems as required.
• Research, project manage, and implement new solutions, security features, adaptations, and upgrades to IT services, working closely with colleagues to advise on changes for all future developments. Ensure that technical solutions are clearly defined and documented for the requirements of the intended client base.
• Hand over projects in a timely manner, with all operating and maintenance documentation in place.
• Undertake the training of others as required and document any processes or systems that are out of date or currently do not have documentation.
• Participate in the procurement of IT services, hardware, and software, providing specifications and contributing to tender documentation.
• Familiarise yourself with existing systems, processes, and policies, and look to improve these wherever possible. Create and update IT and related documentation to allow retention and sharing of knowledge within the team and the Trust.

Experience:

• 3rd line level networking concepts and hands-on management including VLAN, IP, DNS, DHCP, Firewall ACLs, routing, RADIUS, NAT.
• 3rd line level of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft Hyper-V, Mimecast, Office 365, and Azure, including line support and configuration.
• 3rd line level, supporting and installing standard productivity applications (Office 365, Teams, OneDrive, Adobe, AutoCAD, and various SaaS solutions) and operating systems (Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022, some Mac OS) 
• Supporting desktop hardware (primarily Dell laptops) and mobile devices (iOS and Android mobile phones and tablets).
• Cyber security concepts and best practice, including Multi Factor Authentication, phishing, ransomware, passwords, firewalls, social engineering.
• Working in an IT service desk or team, ideally within a serviced/managed office environment.
