Job description

Salary: £50,000–£53,000 FTE
Contract: Full-time, Permanent (part-time considered)
Location: Remote (UK-based) with occasional travel
Closing date: Friday 30 January

We are delighted to be supporting Cruse Bereavement Support, the UK’s leading bereavement charity, in the search for a skilled HR Business Partner. With a new organisational strategy launched in 2025 and a commitment to innovation, this is an exciting moment to join the team!

This is a crucial role for an experienced HR professional who wants to blend hands-on delivery with strategic influence. You will be the primary point of contact for operational HR matters, ensuring an inclusive, people-centred service aligned to Cruse’s values: kindness, inclusivity, ambition, and genuineness.

You will support managers and staff across the full employee lifecycle—from recruitment to wellbeing to employee relations—while driving improvements in HR processes, systems, and organisational culture. This role offers significant scope to lead projects, shape policies, strengthen HR capability across the charity.

To be successful as the HR Business Partner you will need:

  • CIPD Level 5 or higher, with significant broad HR experience.
  • Proven expertise in employee relations, including advising managers on employment law, policies and best practice.
  • Hands on experience with HR systems, data management and payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance (including GDPR).
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to influence, support managers, and handle sensitive issues with empathy and professionalism.
