This is a fundamental role within our West regional team, internally the role is known as Local Community Officer.

The Churches Conservation Trust works with communities to look after 357 historic churches, over two million visitors annually and hundreds of events both private and public.

These ancient, listed sites are among the most beautiful locations in England.

You’ll be visiting sites in your patch regularly, encouraging new supporters, holding local meetings, and raising funds to meet each building’s unique needs. Sharing progress through a growing church plan for each of the 22 churches in your area, you’ll ensure these buildings thrive as beautifully maintained visitor attractions, as venues for events and as central parts of village, town or city life.

You’ll be supported by our team of experts, including fundraising, conservation, and learning and by our large network of church supporters.

The organisation:
We are excited to be working with a very well-known international development charity to help them find a Head of Individual Giving for a 12 month maternity contract. They are looking for an experienced fundraiser with a strong leadership track record, who can help them with their mission of alleviating poverty around the world. 

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the development and delivery of a cost effective individual donor recruitment strategy
• Recruit new individual donors, targeting individuals who have greatest potential to continue their support for the work of the charity throughout their lifetime and by engaging in whole life response
• Plan and execute strategic brand and marketing campaigns designed to appeal to new audiences of individuals and families who have not previously supported the charity, using multiple marketing channels including, but not limited to digital advertising, social media, PR, OOH, TV, radio and print.
• Align fundraising activity with wider vision, mission and brand identity
• Achieve acquisition KPIs and specific appeal targets
• Work alongside the Head of Retention in the strategy and planning of the journey from conversion through to welcome and onboarding
• Line management of at least 2 direct marketers

Person specification:

• Experienced charity fundraiser or marketeer with leadership experience
• Strategic thinker who sees the big picture, capable of adapting tactics to maintain focus on delivering the high level strategy
• Well-developed understanding of fundraising and marketing principles
• Multi-channel marketing experience across a variety of media channels including digital marketing, social media, PR, OOH, TV and radio
• Strong experience of managing creative, media and digital agencies to deliver campaigns and achieve numerical and fundraising targets
• Experience in KPI tracking and analysis and subsequent application to course correct strategy
• Significant experience of project managing multi-channel projects with multiple stakeholders
• Experience of overseeing project management
• Experience of supporting team members to meet deadlines and manage workload

Community Fundraising Officer – Temporary Position from July 24 for 6 months (£24-25k)

Remote working with regular travel to the West Midlands and London as required

You will become the fourth member of the Fundraising Team (there are 3 full time staff) and will help to support the fundraising team.

Sepsis is the immune system’s overreaction to an infection or injury. There are over 245,000 cases each year in the UK with approximately 48,000 deaths. UKST aims to reduce preventable deaths from this ‘killer’ condition. We achieve this by:

· Raising awareness

· Supporting those affected by sepsis

· Educating health professionals

· Lobbying political organisations for better sepsis and severe infection care

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver supporter journeys i.e. fundraising resources and stewardship communications to maximise supporter numbers, retention and engagement.

2. Use UKST’s CRM system (Raiser’s Edge) to accurately capture fundraiser information and key data contributing to the improved development and implementation of fundraising processes.

3. Communicate proactively and effectively with team members to pass on all relevant information, deliver excellent supporter care and to maximise fundraising opportunities. 

4. Provide excellent customer service members of the public, either via phone, mail and in person, help to develop Fundraising activity whilst also offering our Support Services where necessary.

5. Represent the charity as and when required in schools, local businesses, and community groups, including speaking at events if – not essential

6. Keep up to date with best practice in fundraising and ensure compliance with the latest legislation and guidelines.

7. Assist in prioritising & managing enquiries about our Community Fundraising Programme via our dedicated inboxes.

8. Work collaboratively with the fundraising team and our Communications and Marketing Team to ensure maximum press and social media coverage is obtained for UKST’s community fundraising activities.

 

Day to day activities will include:

1. Managing an inbox and replying to enquiries in a timely and professional manner

As Finance & Operations Administrator you will have a key role to play working closely with the trustees and Head of Fundraising & Communications to co-ordinate activities,  to ensure day to day operations in the UK run smoothly.

-  Support the Chair of Governance ensuring Trustee and Staff Handbooks (policies and protocols), risk register, are uptodate and accessible via the website portal. Lead the administration process for the recruitment of trustees and staff, including the preparation of candidate packs, advertising, induction. Oversight of the EFA Partnership Agreements.

- Support the Chair of Educaton re liaison with relevant external auditors (safeguarding, health and safety, risk). Linking with Moroccan partners to agree on timing and arrangements for audit visits. Ensuring reports are available to trustees as agreed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full-scale project management from planning to execution and reporting.

What will your day look like as a Policy Specialist?

You will work within a highly effective and dedicated policy and public affairs team who are focussed on the Westminster government and Whitehall, as well as with colleagues across the organisation as part of our agile ways of working to achieve our strategic objectives. You will work closely with senior leaders within Mencap, supporting their engagement with Ministers and officials, as well as with key cross sector coalitions we are part of, such as the Care and Support Alliance and National Care Forum.
