Job description

Location: Hybrid working between the Aldgate, London office and home

A great opportunity has risen for a Neighbourhood Development Officer to join our Services Directorate. It is a hybrid post, based in London,  and will support our development and outreach work with the Bangladeshi communities.

Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs. We fund cutting-edge research, provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime. We also campaign for clean air and for better NHS diagnosis and treatment.

You will lead the development and delivery of engagement programmes, educational initiatives, and training opportunities that increase awareness, build community capacity, and support the charity's strategic objectives. You will help build trust, increase awareness of respiratory health, encourage early intervention, and connect people with the support and services they need.

You will have some experience working or volunteering community-based health or wellbeing settings. You will have Bangladeshi (Bengali and/or Sylheti) as a first language, with good written and spoken English. You will also be a strong communicator with excellent engagement and relationship-building skills.

As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits including 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), membership of a health cash plan, employee assistance programme, cycle-to-work scheme, interest-free annual season Travelcard loan and pension scheme. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation committed to being the driving force behind the transformation of lung health.
