Rainforest Trust is a leading global organisation sponsoring the creation and expansion of protected and conserved areas, playing a central role in combating biodiversity loss and fighting climate change. Rainforest Trust UK (RTUK) is set up as a separate charity to tax-efficiently raise funds from donors here in the UK for Rainforest Trust’s conservation projects. We are currently a team of seven people, but we are affiliated to, and supported by, the Rainforest Trust team in the U.S., which has a team of 45 staff. 

In 2023 the global charity raised $46 million for conservation projects in Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America. Last year the UK charity contributed £2.7m of this, and we are confident there is significant potential to increase our income from donors here. So, we are looking for an experienced Finance and Administrative Officer to join our small UK team to help us manage an increasing number of donations.

This is a varied role which will offer the successful candidate exposure to a wide range of tasks and responsibilities, including bank reconciliations, financial and performance reporting, some data upkeep and systems improvements. You will need to be good at juggling competing priorities, well-organised with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities (see attached job description for full list)

Finance (~80% of role)

• Carry out weekly bank reconciliations using Xero.

• Maintaining records of expenditure, processing monthly expenses, paying invoices.

• Prepare HMRC Gift Aid claims and maintain records of Gift Aid donations and payments.

• Assist with annual external financial audits.

• Import bank transactions onto CRM database and ensure donations are assigned to correct conservation projects.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual management accounts and annual budgets.

Administration (~20% of role)

• Maintain all accounts on UK portals (Benevity, Charities Aid Foundation, etc) and process, track and reconcile all portal donations, soft crediting these where necessary.

• Suggest changes or improvements to both financial and administrative processes (including automations) to increase accuracy, efficiency and potential cost reductions, then implement where agreed.

• Support with HR administration - keeping personnel and Trustee files up to date, keeping records of sickness, holidays and other absences, drafting new policies.

Working Arrangements and Travel Requirements

Rainforest Trust UK staff work remotely and the successful candidate will be expected to work primarily from home with an excellent internet connection. They may be based anywhere in the UK but will be expected to travel to work from a shared team space in London 1 day per month. Join the innovative Bolton Listening Lounge, providing adults in Bolton with mental health and wellbeing support. Working in partnership with Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation Trust and BAND/FAmily Action, the Bolton Listening Lounge is a collaborative approach to providing mental health and wellbeing support from late afternoon into the evening. It provides a safe space for people who are experiencing mental distress or who feel that they are going through a personal crisis. Overview and key points on the role  | Rape Crisis South London is looking for 2 part time skilled, passionate and professional Caseworkers who will be based within the Advocacy Service.  As a Caseworker you will support clients through their journey through the housing and benefits system by providing practical and emotional support to survivors of sexual violence.  You should have a good working knowledge of Housing processes and Welfare benefits systems with experience of carrying out assessments and completing applications.  In addition to having excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills you should also be able to develop key relationships with external agencies such as the local authority.   You should have demonstrable experience working with survivors of sexual violence and of working in a trauma-informed way. The Role:

The Office Manager and HR Admin will be responsible for overseeing onboarding, health & Safety and human resources functions pertaining to all employees. The role holder will also be responsible for maintaining the office space, administration and any related governance. This role will provide administration support to the Board of Trustees and act as Company Secretary to the Trust. 

Responsibilities:

Office:

• Develop and implement office policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations and compliance with company standards.       
• Ensure the office space meets all Health & Safety regulations, including correct up-to-date H&S information made available to staff via noticeboard or similar.

We are seeking a dedicated professional to lead the development of our blood cancer health data approach. This will involve maintaining and enhancing a portfolio of external facts, statistics, and evidence as well as overseeing our use of this insight internally.

You will have expert knowledge of NHS and UK health data sets, alongside a relevant qualification or equivalent experience in quantitative analysis. You will be confident in handling health datasets, and be able to summarise large amounts of data and information in a way that is understandable to the relevant audience.

Your role will involve sourcing and managing data relevant to our mission particularly blood cancer data sets, clinical trials and blood cancer drugs pipeline, and other national data sets that impact blood cancer outcomes. You will be responsible for data collection and analysis and supporting internal teams to use our data with confidence, particularly statistics that we use in our external communications and messaging.  You will lead on the associated data governance for the collection and use of relevant external blood cancer data sets, working in partnership with colleagues managing internal data. Alongside this you will identify key health data gaps and work with others to develop approaches to address these, including through collaboration with external partners.

The Stories Manager is responsible for amplifying the voice of people who have been affected by pregnancy and baby loss to call for change, while demonstrating the impact of Tommy’s research and support services through storytelling.

As the key representative and ambassador for rent and service charges for our client's business, you will manage key processes and stakeholder relationships. Working within the Finance directorate of around 60 people, you will manage a small team and will contribute to the strategic direction of the function.

Within this position you will provide an expert advisory service to both service owners and budget holders, ensuring Value for Money for customers whilst maximising rent and service charge recovery for the Group.

• With proven experience from within a rent and service charge management position, you will have strong leasehold and housing legislation knowledge.
• You will have a strong understanding of accounting procedures and processes to enable you to monitor and review service charge recovery for the business.
• You have good overall understanding and experience in working in a Finance team and strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Planning and organising resource for the rent and service charge calendar is vital as there are challenging deadlines.
• You will have an eye for detail and instil the need to monitor and analyse to your team as compliance within relevant legislation and service delivery to customers is imperative.
• You will be expected to measure and analyse existing systems and processes, developing creative solutions to improve services for our customers. Your excellent customer focus, commercial acumen, and adept communication skills with a range of different people, including key stakeholders will be key to your success in this post.
• You will be confident at dealing with challenge and will ensure you always work for the best outcome for the business and our customers even if this might involve conflict.
• In your role, you will be expected to support the delivery of the rent and service charge transformation project and the implementation of the new rent and service charge module.
• You will be required to work closely with the rent and service charge project manager and project team to support delivery of the projects.
