WHAT YOU’LL DO

· Project management: Plan and manage projects from start to finish, making sure deadlines are met and everyone delivers on their part.

· Meetings and follow-up: Organise and run management meetings, keep notes, and make sure agreed actions happen.

· Governance: Oversee compliance and act as Company Secretary, keeping records accurate and up to date.

· Finance: Use Xero and work with accountants/bookkeepers to oversee budgets, accounts, and financial reports so the numbers are always clear.

· Fundraising and business development: Support funding applications, proposals, and relationships with partners to bring in new opportunities.

· Operations: Keep the day-to-day running smoothly — from diary management and HR basics to coordinating contractors.

· Communications: Maintain simple but effective comms, updating the website and keeping social media active.

What skills will I need?

• Significant marketing leadership experience, ideally high value and/or B2B marketing experience

• Strategic thinker with significant experience of translating strategy into operational planning, and delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns with strong digital marketing acumen

• Ability to build collaborative relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels   

• Significant understanding of end-to-end supporter journeys and the role of different marketing channels in fully integrated campaigns  

• Relevant experience of managing and motivating agencies and suppliers to drive maximum value from relationships

• Champions the supporter and the delivery of relevant, engaging communications and excellent supporter experiences  

• A flexible approach to adapt to changing priorities

About the Role

The Public Affairs Lead at the Food Foundation provides expertise on building relationships with political stakeholders to deliver impact across all areas of our work aimed transforming food systems and shifting diets.

Job Purpose

The Public Affairs Lead sits within our Policy and Advocacy Team, working to build support for The Food Foundation’s work amongst Parliamentarians and to influence the government to help deliver policies that will transform the food system.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a small organisation delivering big impact on the political agenda around food. 

The Public Affairs Manager reports to our Head of Policy and Advocacy and will be responsible for planning and delivering our public affairs activity. You will spend considerable time meeting MPs and Peers in parliament and building relationships with their teams with a view to identifying potential new supporters and ensuring that The Food Foundation has a range of contacts that we can call on to support and amplify our policy asks and to raise issues when required. 

While this role is focused on political engagement, you will work closely with policy and research colleagues and with our communications team to share perspectives on which priorities it may be tactical to pursue at any given time and to understand what evidence is available to inform engagement.

You will also work closely with public affairs professionals in other organisations to deliver joint programmes of engagement work which leverage respective organisational strengths.

You will have excellent political instincts and a strong interest in policy developments, monitoring closely what is going on in Parliament and in Government, and keeping abreast of the latest developments in order to identify opportune moments to maximise political attention on the issues we work on and to galvanise support for policy change. 

You will work with our communications team to build compelling narratives targeted at different political stakeholders about the impacts of the food system on our diets, our health and our planet, and the need for evidence-based solutions.   In the current parliamentary term we expect a major focus of activity to be on securing a White Paper and then A Bill on food system change.

You will lead on developing and commissioning a range of briefing materials and reports for policy audiences and formulate responses on behalf of the organisation to policy development processes and Parliamentary inquiries.

You will think creatively about methods and opportunities for engagement in order to ensure that The Food Foundation’s messages and priorities are noticed and heard by policy-makers in a very crowded policy space, including by working closely with our events manager to deliver impactful parliamentary events.

You will bring a learning mindset to the role, assessing the impact of our policy engagement approaches in order to make continuous improvements.

The role will be a fulfilling blend of planning engagement campaigns, developing the materials and monitoring tools to enable delivery, and the practical task of developing personal relationships with key stakeholders.

A week in the job will look like: meeting with a Peer that is new to our work to brief them on evidence we have published and our current political priorities, completing a political stakeholder mapping exercise for a new campaign on sustainable diets to identify a shortlist of MPs to engage with, spending an afternoon in parliament to engage informally with passing MPs, pitching a new idea for a parliamentary inquiry to parliamentary staff from the Health and Social Care Committee, drafting an MP briefing for an upcoming debate on the Government’s obesity prevention priorities, reviewing next week’s parliamentary calendar to spot opportunities for engagement, attending a roundtable to share intelligence and discuss priorities for political party manifestos with other NGOs working on food issues, ringing round parliamentary offices to confirm attendance for an upcoming parliamentary reception, meeting with an MP that is closely involved with The Food Foundation’s work to refine messaging for an upcoming campaign.

What’s the job?

In this exciting and varied role, you will take the lead in delivering commercial marketing initiatives that add real value to both students’ unions and our supplier partners. Working within the Commercial Development team, you’ll be responsible for planning and executing the activity against brand development programmes across key sectors including retail, catering, and licensed trade. To succeed in this role, you’ll need significant experience in a business-to-business (B2B) sales or account management environment, as well as a strong track record of project delivery. You should be confident in negotiating and managing budgets, using data and insight to inform decisions, and pitching marketing ideas to external stakeholders.

We are seeking an experienced, high-performing Challenge Events Lead to drive forward a flagship portfolio of challenge  fundraising events with strategic control, operational excellence and a deep sense of ownership.

This is a senior delivery role, accountable for all aspects of planning, executing and evaluating complex fundraising events across Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation, Evelina London Children’s Charity, and Guy’s Cancer Charity. This position requires someone who can operate independently, manage high-value partnerships, oversee delivery risks, and influence cross-functional teams with credibility.

Overall Purpose of the role

The Challenge Events lead plays a critical role within the fundraising team, combining strategic oversight with a hands-on commitment to delivery excellence. At a time of organisational transformation and ambitious long-term growth, this role is central to building the operational foundations and supporter experiences that will enable our 10-year vision to succeed.  

This role will provide clear direction and structure to the planning and execution of our event portfolio, while remaining close to the operational detail — streamlining processes, refining supporter journeys, and driving performance through data, insight and continuous improvement.  

This role is responsible for setting high standards across everything from partnership engagement to on-the-day execution. It requires someone who is comfortable working autonomously, leading high-value relationships with professionalism and precision, and bringing creative thinking to how we engage and retain our event supporters. 

The Challenge Events Lead will also guide and support the Events Fundraising Co-ordinator, working in close partnership to deliver exceptional stewardship across the supporter lifecycle and elevate every touchpoint — from first sign-up to post-event celebration. 

This is a key opportunity for an experienced event professional to shape the future of events at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation and play a leading role in how we build supporter loyalty, scale income, and strengthen our presence in third-party partnerships.  

Key Responsibilities

• Independently lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of a portfolio of flagship challenge events — including the London Marathon, London Landmarks Half, Brighton Marathon, Ultra Challenges and other third-party partnerships — ensuring a high standard of execution and supporter experience.
• Drive and manage Charity of the Year pipelines and partnerships, contributing to long-term income growth and brand visibility through strategic relationship-building and high-profile placement.
• Act as the strategic lead and primary relationship manager for key external partners (e.g. London Marathon Events, delivery agencies), safeguarding supporter experience, brand integrity and value across all touchpoints.
• Oversee console and registration systems, ensuring a smooth and seamless experience for participants from sign-up through to post-event engagement, while proactively identifying areas for optimisation.
• Develop and manage detailed event budgets, including forecasting, tracking, reconciliation, and net income reporting — with a clear place allocation strategy that aligns with ROI, supporter demand, and market trends.
• Lead on portfolio-level financial accountability, using budget performance, participation data and market insight to inform decisions around where to invest, expand, or strategically scale back — ensuring resources are directed where they’ll deliver the strongest return and long-term value.
• Lead on supporter acquisition strategy across owned and paid channels — including ballot management, grassroots marketing, and behavioural communications — to ensure high-quality leads, strong retention and long-term supporter engagement.
• Provide operational oversight, guidance and mentorship to the Events Fundraising Co-ordinator, ensuring clarity of roles, consistency of delivery, and strong compliance across all areas of shared responsibility.
• Collaborate on planning and execution of end-to-end stewardship journeys — from registration to celebration — ensuring data-led, insight-driven improvements and meaningful supporter experiences at every stage.

Work environment

• The post holder should expect to:
• Work in a hybrid hot desk environment, generally working 2 days a week in the London office and three from home. 
• Be responsible for the input and maintenance of databases and files relevant to the post requirements.
• Will occasionally be required to attend events in the evening and at weekends.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

This role requires significant, hands-on operational experience. Applicants will need to demonstrate clear evidence of independently managing event budgets, leading on strategy and logistics, and owning high-level external partnerships.
 

Essential Experience

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience independently delivering large-scale fundraising events, with full responsibility for logistics, budgeting, and strategic outcomes.
• Strong track record in supplier management, live event delivery, and compliance — including health & safety, risk assessments, and insurance.
• Proven success managing high-value relationships with third-party organisers (e.g. London Marathon Events), including negotiating terms and ensuring delivery excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage ambitious budgets, including forecasting, reforecasting, reporting and cost-efficiency tracking.
• Deep knowledge of event marketing and acquisition strategies — including ballot processes, audience segmentation, targeting, and grassroots recruitment.

The role

The Content Officer will play a key role in managing and developing BDF’s Knowledge Hub, our unique resource library of accurate, authoritative, and up-to-date information on business and disability. They will be responsible for collecting, monitoring, and analysing data on the Knowledge Hub’s use and performance, and using these insights to create and deliver a digital content strategy.

The requirement

• Experience managing and updating digital content, ideally using CMS platforms such as WordPress with Kadence or similar themes
• Proven experience conducting content audits and implementing accessibility checks
• Experience using SEO tools and website analytics to monitor and optimise digital content performance
• Experience writing and proofreading web copy, video scripts, and multimedia content
• Technical aptitude to learn and implement new digital features, plug-ins, or tools
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG) and their application to digital content

The EMHIP (Ethnicity and Mental Health Improvement Programme) Mobile Hub Support Worker has been co-designed with individuals with lived experience of mental health care to provide direct, person-centred support to individuals in their local communities.

The Croydon BME Forum and Asian Resource Centre Croydon, in partnership with South West London Integrated Care System (SWL ICS) and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) are working together to address the ethnic inequalities in health and social care through the Ethnicity and Mental Health Improvement Programme (EMHIP). One of the key interventions of EMHIP is the implementation of the Mental Health & Wellbeing Mobile Hub. This is a mobile, all age, whole family hub service, delivered within both faiths based and community-based organisations.

The Mental Health & Wellbeing Mobile Hub team will be a dedicated team of experienced, culturally aware support workers and clinical staff embedded in the community to provide services to all local residents, but with a specific focus on BAME communities. This team will be based in different locations across the borough, working within BAME communities, alongside faith groups and existing wellbeing hubs in Croydon.

Job Summary

The Mobile Hub Team Support Worker is a skilled, knowledgeable, and empathetic person, who enjoys working with people, taking a person-centred approach. They must be flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in an active setting, with people and professionals across the health and social care system. They will be practical, resilient, well organised and have excellent communication skills. 

As a Hub Support Worker, you will be responsible for working with the team, providing advice and practical help for local residents in need of mental health support or general well being/social support. You will work as part of a wider hub team, rotating between different community locations, providing one-to-one support, and making referrals to the team psychologist and secondary care services, as well as helping people to access other agencies and services, such as benefits, housing, debt services. You will work with the mobile hub team to offer wellbeing activities, including workshops as well working with primary care and collaborating with community services.

You will work in a variety of settings, including:

• Faith-based groups 
• Community settings 
• Colleges 

Main responsibilities

• Working closely with CBME Forum Mobile Hub Team Manager
• Support new referrals and offer a person-centred, wellbeing assessment that identifies their wellbeing difficulties and develops a plan to support positive mental and general wellbeing. 
• Ensure that staff resources are coordinated to provide cover being aware of the team’s work/life balance.
• Deliver one-to-one support to hub users and manage a caseload of individuals as agreed with the Hub Team Manager.
• Provide advice and information relating to Welfare Benefits, including Universal Credit and work with service users to assist them with claims, online assessments, including Work Capability Assessments, applications, form-filling and contacting agencies such as the Department of Work and Pensions and London Borough of Croydon Welfare Rights and Housing teams. 
• Provide basic housing advice.
• Provide general money and debt management advice. 
• Provide information on employment opportunities and training support for clients.
• Support colleagues within the Mental Health & Wellbeing Mobile Hub, with enquiries which relate to your specialist knowledge and experience e.g., in Universal Credit, Housing, Money or Debt Management, access to training, education or employment.
• Support access to, and the delivery of, a variety of peer and social support groups, workshops and activities available.
• Work as part of the wider hub support team, co-delivering workshops, liaising with colleagues, and arranging referrals where necessary to hub team psychologist.
• Facilitate direct referrals to secondary care services and community services.
• Work from a strength-based approach, focusing on the person themselves and providing non-judgemental support, respecting diversity and their lifestyle choices. 
• Attend training, forums, and meetings to ensure knowledge remains relevant and up to date. 
• Keep up to date about current best practice and legislation within mental health, as well as within the field of Information & Advice more generally.
• Provide updates and feedback to the EMHIP Mobile Hub teams. 
• Maintain accurate and up to date service user records using online database systems.
• Preparing and giving talks on the work of the service to other organisations e.g., Social Services, Mental Health Resource Centres.
• Work within all policies and procedures of the Partnership, ensuring that information remains confidential and to adhere to the General Data Protection Regulations 2018 (GDPR)

This role is based at RSA House in London for at least three days per week, with hybrid flexibility for the remaining days.

A successful candidate will: 

• Coordinate meetings of the Board of Trustees and sub-committees, including scheduling, preparing agendas, collating and circulating papers (via Convene), and minute-taking (using AI, at times). 
• Provide proactive administrative support to the Executive Leadership Team as required, including diary management, meeting preparation, and travel arrangements. 
• Organise the annual programme of meetings of the main Board and its Sub-Committees, including an annual general meeting, annual Board Away-Day and other key events. 
• Work with key stakeholders across the RSA including our Chair of Trustees, Sir Loyd Grossman CBE
