About the role

As Fundraising Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of strategies to grow sustainable and unrestricted income.

Reporting to the Head of Income Generation, you will play a vital role in deepening relationships with high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), while also engaging regular givers, corporates and community partners.

You will:

• Develop and implement income strategies across major donors, individual giving and legacies, corporate fundraising and community giving
• Lead tailored stewardship plans to retain and grow supporter engagement
• Manage the Community & Events Fundraiser to deliver successful campaigns and events
• Use CRM systems (Donorfy), digital platforms, and data insights to enhance supporter journeys and track performance
• Represent Stonepillow in the community, building awareness and strong partnerships
• Monitor income, evaluate ROI, and report on performance to senior leadership

This role is essential in securing the income needed to deliver Stonepillow’s life-changing services for people experiencing homelessness across Chichester and Arun.

With oversight by the Director of Science and Regulatory Affairs, you will support the collection, preparation, organisation, and use of the Science team’s key information resources which contribute to ensuring that our work and external communications are underpinned by accurate and robust evidence.

You will support the Science team in inputting to marketing and fundraising efforts as well the preparation of press releases and other forms of external communication. Your work will contribute to ensuring that the organisation’s advocacy, media and supporter communications are based on accurate, evidence-based science.

You will also work with the organisation’s press and media function to help maintain the quality of media coverage relating to animal testing and animal-free science. In collaboration with colleagues, stakeholders, and partners you will work to support research and contribute to the production of high-quality scientific material which can be used to advance the agenda to end all animal testing, including through the provision of the organisation’s digital education service.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the preparation, organisation, and maintenance of key Science team information resources which underpin our work and provide support for their use across the organisation. This includes responsibility for maintaining a well-organised central knowledge base to ensure our work is easily tracked, accessed and referenced.
• Support and input into research and contribute to the production of high-quality scientific material, including briefings, reports, presentations, posters, and summaries of the latest developments to support the Science team’s work. Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely press releases and support increased media coverage for our organisation.
• Support the preparation and maintenance of up-to-date briefings for internal and external use on emerging trends and latest developments in non-animal approaches, as well as helping to maintain the organisation’s specialist expertise in key regulatory toxicology topics.
• Contribute to raising awareness across the organisation on animal testing issues and the work of the Science team.
• Provide support to the Director, and Deputy Director, of Science & Regulatory Affairs on regulatory toxicology and other scientific issues, as required.
• At the request of the Deputy Director of Science & Regulatory Affairs, undertake any other duties consistent with this post.

• Experience of presenting complex scientific information to internal and external audiences at events and meetings.

Education and Professional Qualifications Required

• Post or graduate qualification in the biological or chemical sciences or qualified by relevant work experience.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience in regulatory affairs and/or toxicology.
• Familiarity with regulations governing toxicity tests, particularly for chemicals and pharmaceuticals.
• Familiarity and personal interest in opposition to animal testing.
• Familiarity with the charitable and not-for-profit sector.

Senior Reserves Officer

Our client are looking for two conscientious individuals to lead on the management of reserves across Shropshire, ensuring they are in good ecological condition and help to develop them as safe & inspiring places for public access, education, research and demonstration. You’ll support colleagues and potentially line manage placements and junior roles, and liaise with volunteers, contractors and colleagues across the Trust to deliver priority works on your reserves. Good working relationships with neighbouring landowners and partners will be vital to ensure a quick response to any reported issues. With a meticulous approach to work, you will maintain accurate inspection reports and surveys, ensuring safety for visitors and managing budgets for your allocated reserves. 

What our client are looking for:

To be successful, you’ll have experience of habitat and estate management including inspections, planning and directing work and will be able to demonstrate a track record of managing projects for wildlife, including budget management. You’ll be confident and approachable, able to provide support and mentoring to colleagues and inspire a passion for wildlife and nature to those around you. You’ll be accustomed to managing and motivating volunteer groups and supervising contractors. Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that you have a full UK driving licence.

As an Interpretation and Digital Officer, you'll work closely and collaboratively with a wide range of in-zoo teams including the Networks for Nature project staff, Interpretation, Digital Learning, Marketing, PR, Fundraising, and will also link with the project partners. You’ll be responsible for the development of interpretation and promotional materials for the project. This will include interpretation materials at partner and community sites, resources for event activities and promotion of the project via e-newsletters, social media and other digital channels, such as the Wild Wander app.

We’re looking for someone who can:

• Develop content for interpretation elements across the landscape, working with designers and overseeing installation.
• Commission others or develop a broad range of digital and promotional materials, including content for e-newsletters, leaflets, digital media and other collateral to promote the project to a wide range of audiences (from those directly involved and supporters, to local residents and the wider public).
• Work collaboratively with zoo teams to schedule and plan delivery of communications content, providing any assets needed, so that the project is communicated consistently and regularly to key audiences.
• Ensure brand consistency across all areas of work.
• Support the ongoing development of the Wild Wander app, working with app developers, project team and partners to create new content and monitor its ongoing usage, adapting as needed in response to feedback.
• Ensure all work is delivered safely and compliantly, follow policies, standard operating procedures and ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines and legislation, such as copyright law, GDPR, CDM and DDA compliance.
• Contribute to project monitoring through the collation of relevant KPI data and through providing regular reports to the Project Board and Steering Group.
• Monitor budgets associated with the interpretation and digital content elements of the project.
• Proactively develop own expertise in the areas of interpretation and digital engagement, keeping up to date with best practice, researching excellence and sharing practice both internally and externally.

Our Requirements

• An understanding & affinity to the organisation’s mission, vision & values, with a strong interest in the conservation of UK nature.
• Subject knowledge: Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
• Excellent copywriting skills, with experience in a comparable setting of writing for diverse audiences and for a range of formats including digital channels and interpretation signage. Proven ability to communicate scientific or technical content to audiences of different ages and abilities.
• Research skills: the ability to find information and source quality materials (such as films, maps and images), seek copyright clearance for their usage and edit into appropriate formats for a range of audiences.
• Commissioning of content: The ability to brief designers, printers, photographers, filmmakers and other contractors on projects and requirements.
• IT skills: Skilled in the use of all key Microsoft packages and use of digital technologies for public engagement.
• Organisational skills: Excellent time management, administration and workload planning skills are essential. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, meeting deadlines and ensuring appropriate quality control.
• Interpersonal skills: Excellent diplomacy and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively under own initiative and as part of a team, to work under pressure and to collaborate with various stakeholders across the zoo and beyond.

Although not essential, the following would be desirable:

• Experience of developing and installing interpretation in a zoo, aquarium, museum or similar environment is desirable, ideally with experience working in outdoor locations.
• Experience or qualification in subject relevant to science communication and/or interpretation is desirable.
• A working knowledge of UK conservation and/or ecology.

As a Community Volunteer Officer, you'll work closely with the Community Volunteer Assistant Manager and Networks for Nature project staff to engage and empower volunteers to make a real impact on conservation efforts. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day volunteer administration, recruitment, and support, while helping to deliver exciting activities, including hands-on conservation projects and training sessions. This is your chance to be at the heart of the Networks for Nature project, contributing to positive change in nature while gaining valuable experience and skills.

Due to the working rota of 10 days in 14 and working every other weekend, there will be some cross-over between the activities delivered within this role and the Wildlife and Wellbeing Officer role.

We’re looking for someone who can:

• Event Planning & Delivery: Help plan and run volunteer events, training, and networking opportunities for community volunteers and Wildlife Champions.
• Logistical Support: Provide support for activities like networking, micro-volunteering, and conservation action days, from small coffee mornings to large events for up to 250 participants.
• Engagement Monitoring: Track participant feedback through surveys and regular check-ins. Collate data about participation in community activities, share data with funders and internal teams.
• Daily Volunteer Engagement: Manage volunteer communications such as emails, newsletters, recruitment, rosters, and event sign-ups. Provide support, encourage engagement, and offer pastoral care as needed.
• Safety & Risk Assessments: With support from the Community Volunteer Assistant Manager, ensure all activities are safe and well-planned, creating personal risk assessments with volunteers if required.
• Training & Development: Assist with training sessions for volunteers and Wildlife Champions to enhance their skills, leading parts of the training when needed.

What the job involves

We’re looking for a Data Operations Executive to join our Data Import Team in our wider Customer Engagement and Experience Team. This role is an integral part of the team who support the important work of the organisation as well as representing and delivering value to all our audiences, both internal and external.

In this role, you’ll get involved in a variety of important database activities — from handling large data imports and automated routines, working with personal and financial data, to making sure customer relationships are maintained by managing queries and interactions from different sources. You’ll be responsible for coding, resolving and importing bulk data exceptions into our Raiser’s Edge database using tools such as Message Broker ETL and ImportOmatic, as well as managing ad hoc manual data imports from platforms like Just Giving, Benevity and Everyclick.

You’ll use our CRM and other platforms to work with live data from our donors and supporters. This includes monitoring data feeds, downloading and uploading regular data files, and reporting any issues to the Data Import Manager. You’ll also play an active part in maintaining and improving data quality through regular housekeeping, data cleansing and updates, helping to ensure everything’s accurate, consistent and compliant with GDPR, Gift Aid regulations and internal policies.

As a key link between the Customer Experience Team and the database team, you’ll support positive customer experiences and help keep information flowing smoothly across the organisation. You’ll also assist with internal data requests, contribute to wider organisational projects and provide training and guidance on database processes to team members and other staff.

This role is fixed term for 12 months covering maternity leave.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a Data Operations Executive with good customer communications and a positive, proactive approach to team activities, problem-solving and time management.

Ideally, you’ll have experience working with a CRM database — Raiser’s Edge would be a bonus — and be confident inputting, processing and managing data accurately. Experience with import utilities like ImportOmatic or similar tools, along with an understanding of income processing and Gift Aid, would be an advantage. You’ll also have excellent attention to detail and be used to handling high volumes of work while maintaining accuracy and focus.

A good communicator, you’ll be confident explaining technical or data-related information to a range of audiences in a clear and professional way, both in writing and over the phone.

You’ll work closely with our experienced data professionals on exciting projects using new technology and digital channels, taking responsibility for daily and weekly activities while contributing to new initiatives and business objectives. A good team player, you’ll also be able to work on your own initiative.

You’ll help us to achieve our ambitious performance goals within the team, and as an organisation, supporting and improving the lives of all of those affected by or at risk of prostate cancer.

As a Wildlife and Wellbeing Officer, you’ll work closely with the Wildlife and Wellbeing Assistant Manager and Networks for Nature project staff to engage and empower communities to make a real impact on conservation efforts and to improve access to nature. You will support with maintaining and establishing community relationships, supporting the development and delivery of a programme of wildlife and wellbeing activities and supporting in building the capacity of community groups, community leaders and other stakeholders within the Networks for Nature project area. You will deliver a broad range of activities, including Family Wildlife Clubs, Wildlife and Wellbeing Clubs, Community Action Days, activities linked to Green Social Prescribing and activity stands within community settings.

Due to the working rota of 10 days in 14 and working every other weekend, there will be some cross-over between the activities delivered within this role and the Community Volunteer Officer role.
 

We’re looking for someone who can:

• Activity Planning & Delivery: Help plan and run a broad programme of wildlife and wellbeing activities to community groups, including Family Wildlife Clubs, Wildlife and Wellbeing Clubs, Conservation Action Days, activities linked to Green Social Prescribing and activity stands at community events. Effectively adapting each activity to meet the needs of each group.
• Community Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with community groups to support their continued participation in the project and commitment to creating habitats for UK Wildlife. Including administrative support, dealing with queries via email and telephone and attending meetings, consultations and networking events.
• Content Creation: Research and contribute to the development of resources and new engagement activities designed to support participation in the Networks for Nature project.
• Measuring Impact: Work closely with the Wildlife and Wellbeing Assistant Manager to support in the delivery of an evaluation programme for the Networks for Nature project, including collection and collation of data from project participants, initial analysis of results and presenting findings to key stakeholders.
• Safety & Risk Assessments: With support from the Wildlife and Wellbeing Assistant Manager, ensure that all activities are safe and appropriately risk assessed.

The Wildlife and Wellbeing Assistant Manager will lead the community engagement aspects of the Networks for Nature project. They will establish new and maintain existing community relationships, and lead on the development and delivery of a diverse programme of wildlife and wellbeing activities, with the overall aim of building the capacity of community groups, community leaders and other stakeholders within Networks for Nature project area and increasing connection and access to nature for community participants from diverse backgrounds. The Wildlife and Wellbeing Assistant Manager will also lead the development of a growing area of work around green social prescribing and work with local healthcare professionals to develop programmes that meet the needs of the community to harness the power of nature and wildlife for wellbeing. The Wildlife and Wellbeing Assistant Manager will line manage a Wildlife and Wellbeing Officer.

We’re looking for someone who can:

• Partnership and audience development: Manage existing and build new relationships with community groups to support their continued participation in the project and commitment to creating habitats for UK Wildlife. Build effective working relationships with internal and external partners in support of our community engagement and organisational aims.
• Community programme delivery: Develop and deliver a programme of family wildlife clubs, wildlife and wellbeing activities, green social prescribing, meetings, consultations and other activities, enabling community audiences to engage with Networks for Nature, working within a framework agreed by Networks for Nature Project Manager and meeting the requirements of the project Activity Plan. Ensure activities are designed to meet community needs, connect people to nature and support wellbeing using robust and evidence-based methods such as five ways to wellbeing and five pathways to Nature Connectedness.
• Capacity building: Share knowledge and build capacity in the area of nature and wellbeing, both internally and with community partners across the NFN area. Continue to develop own expertise in this area and ensure that the NFN project is informed by the latest good practice in relation to nature-based wellbeing work.
• Resource development: Research, write and co-ordinate the production of learning resources to support participation in the NFN.
• Evaluation and reporting: Work closely with the Networks for Nature Project Manager and external evaluator to devise and deliver an evaluation programme for the Networks for Nature project, including collection and collation of data from project participants. Lead on the measurement of wellbeing outcomes across the project, working closely with the project evaluator and NFN Project Manager to ensure a holistic approach to evaluation and reporting.
• Compliance: Ensure that all activities delivered within communities are safe and appropriately risk assessed, inclusive and that safeguarding has been fully considered.
• Budget management: Take primary responsibility for monitoring the project budget relevant to community engagement, under the guidance of the NFN Project Manager and Senior Community Participation and Engagement Manager.

At West London Synagogue (WLS), we have made a commitment to helping London’s most vulnerable residents regardless of faith and background. This is achieved through delivering direct services to those who need it most. We have identified asylum seekers and refugees as the core communities in which we can have an impact. 

We work closely with Westminster City Council, as well as local and national organisations to identify where our resources can be best focused, where we can bring added value, and where our teams of volunteers can make a meaningful impact. 

We run 2 drop-ins each month. Our Family drop-in welcomes families with children and of all faiths and ethnic origins who are seeking asylum in the UK. We rely on volunteers to help provide a hot meal, grocery vouchers, toiletries, companionship, and advice for families who have fled life-threatening violence or persecution in their countries of origin. 

As well, as our Family drop-in, we run the monthly 'Rainbow' Group.LGBTQI+ asylum seekers in the UK face the same challenges that most asylum seekers face in the UK. In addition, they face further challenges since their sexual orientation WLS opens its doors once a month to provide a safe space for LGBTQI+ asylum seekers to feel a warm community welcome, to build community together, and to receive vital support whilst living in poverty awaiting a decision on their asylum application. 

At WLS we have recognised the unjust and compounded hardships for asylum seekers who are members of the LGBTQI+ community. We aim to create an environment where asylum seekers of the LGBTQI+ community can feel safe, supported, and comfortable.

You’ll support the delivery of assurance activities aligned to our “Reassuring Scouting” programme of work, and play a key role in embedding a practical, proportionate, and learning-focused approach to risk management.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys shaping a new and developing function, and getting into the thick of it to establish a mature approach to Enterprise Risk Management and Assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the planning, delivery, and reporting of assurance reviews across core areas (i.e., safeguarding, safety, and governance to start with).

• Help co-ordinate internal assurance activities and maintain the assurance schedule.
• Support the development and testing of an integrated three lines of defence model tailored for Scouting.

Skills and abilities:

• Ability to gather and analyse qualitative and quantitative information to draw insights and form clear recommendations.
• Skilled in facilitating discussions or workshops that help others reflect, evaluate, or plan.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce accessible and engaging reports.
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
