Full-time
Permanent
Job description

We are delighted to be partnering with the British Society for Haematology (BSH) to recruit a permanent Policy Officer to join their Impact and Evidence team.

With over 3,000 members worldwide, BSH is the largest UK organisation dedicated to all aspects of haematology. Since 1960, they have brought professionals together to transform patient care. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping policy that supports the haematology workforce and improves outcomes for patients across the UK.

As Policy Officer you will lead on monitoring and analysing the political and policy landscape relevant to haematology, developing evidence-based briefings, reports and recommendations for senior leadership and external stakeholders. You’ll build and manage relationships with funders, members and partners, contribute to advocacy strategy, and represent the Society at key events.

We’re looking for a strong communicator with experience of working within a charity or membership policy environment, who can translate complex information into clear, compelling messaging for a range of audiences. You’ll be highly organised, politically aware, and comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-moving external landscape. A genuine interest in influencing change and improving the experience of a professional membership community is essential.

What makes this role unique?

You’ll join a small team with lots of opportunity to take ownership and influence changes. The society is led by an ambitious CEO, who is looking for a collaborative team-player who is excited to build relationships with their funders, members and partners. They are also undertaking a big digital transformation project, and an increasing brand awareness in the sector means there is a great opportunity to utilise connections and become a player of note in the health sector.

  • Location: Angel, London.
  • Hybrid working: 2 days a week in the office. This includes a team anchor day, fortnightly, every other Wednesday.
  • Closing date: 9am Tuesday 3rd March. Please apply now for more information and the full job description.
  • Interviews will take place in the London offices, w/c 9th March

If you’re passionate about evidence-led policy and want to contribute to meaningful change within a respected national medical membership organisation, we’d love to hear from you.

As leading charity recruitment specialists and a certified B Corp™, Harris Hill is committed to high and ever-improving standards of equitable and inclusive recruitment. We actively welcome applications from all sections of the community regardless of age, disability, gender, race, religion, sexuality and other protected characteristics.
