Permanent, Full time – 35 hours per week |  £33,500 per annum | Ambleside preferred, with hybrid working considered (Ambleside/Bradford)

Join Our Team: Help us prove what works. Help us do even more of it.

At Brathay, we believe every child and young person deserves the opportunity to feel like their best self and thrive within their community.

For 80 years, we've been creating life-changing opportunities through community early help, youth work, outdoor learning and experiential programmes. Every year we work alongside thousands of children, young people, families, schools and communities across the UK, helping to build their brighter futures.

We're now looking for an exceptional Impact and Evaluation Lead to help us understand, evidence and strengthen the difference our work makes.

This is a pivotal role at the heart of our organisation. You'll champion high-quality data and reporting. You'll work with colleagues across the organisation to improve data quality, develop meaningful dashboards and reports, and ensure information is used. Your work will help shape strategic decision-making, strengthen funding relationships, support innovation and, most importantly, ensure we continue delivering meaningful outcomes for children and young people.

If you're passionate about turning data into insight, evidence into action, and stories into influence, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As our Impact and Evaluation Lead, you will:

  • Lead and develop Brathay's organisation-wide impact and evaluation framework
  • Maintain and develop robust, practical approaches to measuring outcomes and impact
  • Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to generate meaningful insights
  • Translate complex information into compelling reports, dashboards and impact stories
  • Work closely with delivery teams to embed a culture of learning, reflection and evidence-informed practice
  • Support teams to collect high-quality monitoring and evaluation data
  • Produce reports for funders, commissioners, trustees and senior leaders
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen our evidence base and demonstrate social value
  • Champion continuous improvement by ensuring learning influences future programme design and delivery

We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Has experience leading impact, evaluation, research or performance measurement activity.
  • Can confidently analyse and interpret data from multiple sources.
  • Enjoys transforming evidence into clear, engaging and influential narratives.
  • Can balance strategic thinking with practical implementation.
  • Builds trusting relationships, collaborates and influences colleagues at all levels.
  • Is curious, analytical and committed to learning.
  • Shares our passion for improving outcomes for children, young people and communities.
  • Understands outcomes-based approaches within charities, education, youth work, community development or related sectors.

Whether your background is in evaluation, research, service improvement, insight, impact measurement or performance management, we are interested in hearing from people who can bring expertise, energy and fresh thinking to this important role.

Why Join Brathay?

At Brathay, you'll join a values-led organisation where learning, innovation and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and influence how impact is understood and utilised across the organisation.
  • Work alongside passionate colleagues who are committed to changing lives.
  • Help strengthen services that support children, young people and families.
  • Contribute to national conversations on youth work, outdoor learning and early help.
  • Develop innovative approaches to evidence, learning and impact.
  • Be part of an organisation with an ambitious vision and a strong track record of delivery.

Most importantly, your work will help ensure that the voices, experiences and outcomes of children and young people are at the centre of our decision-making.
