Job description

Help create safe, welcoming spaces where LGBTQ+ young people can thrive.

At Brighter Futures Together, we believe every young person deserves somewhere they can feel safe, accepted and able to be themselves.

Q Hub is our growing LGBTQ+ youth project supporting young people across Buckinghamshire, Slough and Windsor through welcoming youth groups, social activities, community events and opportunities to shape the services they use.

We're looking for an experienced youth or community worker to join our team and help deliver life-changing opportunities for LGBTQ+ young people.

This is more than running youth groups. You'll build trusted relationships, create spaces where young people feel they belong, and help develop a project that's making a real difference across the region.

About the role

Working alongside the Q Hub Project Lead, you'll coordinate and deliver activity within your local area while supporting the wider Q Hub programme across Buckinghamshire, Slough and Windsor.

No two weeks are the same. You might be planning a youth group, meeting with a local school, organising a community event, supporting volunteers or working directly alongside young people.

What you'll be doing

  • Coordinating and delivering inclusive LGBTQ+ youth groups and activities.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with young people.
  • Planning engaging programmes that reflect young people's interests and ideas.
  • Developing partnerships with schools and community organisations.
  • Supporting volunteers and sessional staff.
  • Helping evaluate and develop the project as it continues to grow.
  • Working as part of a friendly, supportive team committed to improving outcomes for young people.

This role could be perfect for you if...

  • you have experience working with young people or community groups.
  • you're passionate about creating welcoming, inclusive spaces where young people feel they belong.
  • you're organised and enjoy coordinating projects as well as delivering front-line youth work.
  • you're confident building relationships with young people, families and partner organisations.
  • you enjoy working independently while being part of a supportive team.
  • you're happy working flexibly, including regular evenings.

Experience supporting LGBTQ+ young people is welcomed, whether through professional roles, volunteering, community involvement or lived experience.

What you'll receive

  • £15.00 per hour (PAYE, including rolled-up statutory holiday pay)
  • Flexible zero-hours working
  • Full induction and safeguarding training
  • Regular supervision and support
  • Ongoing professional development
  • Support to work towards a recognised youth work qualification
  • Opportunities to grow with an ambitious and expanding organisation
  • A welcoming team where lived experience is valued alongside professional expertise
