The Trusts & Foundations Specialist will play a key role in identifying and securing grants from trusts and foundations. You will lead on researching new opportunities, crafting compelling applications, and stewarding relationships with grantmakers. We’re looking for a diligent and thoughtful writer with a sharp eye for detail and a deep interest in our work, who is also keen to contribute to the wider life of the organisation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Grant Prospecting & Pipeline Development

• Research and maintain a pipeline of trusts and foundations aligned with OSH’s mission and growth priorities.

• Work closely with OSH leadership to align fundraising priorities with programme plans and organisational growth.

• Maintain up-to-date records on potential and active funders in OSH’s CRM.
   

Bid Writing & Submission

• Write and submit high-quality, tailored applications that articulate OSH’s impact, values and plans.

• Ensure applications are accurate, persuasive, and meet deadlines and funder requirements.

• Collaborate with the team to gather supporting information, budgets, and case studies.
   

Reporting & Stewardship

• Prepare timely and engaging reports for successful grants, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and strong stewardship.

• Maintain excellent records and monitor deadlines for reporting and renewals.
   

Cross-Organisational Contribution

• Coordinate annual impact reporting, including data analysis, case studies, and visual storytelling.

• Build strong internal relationships and stay connected to OSH’s work by attending occasional programmes, events and residentials.

• Contribute ideas and support the fundraising team’s broader work (e.g. campaigns, supporter communications).

• Engage with programme staff to gather stories and data that demonstrate OSH’s impact.

ABOUT YOU

• Demonstrated experience writing successful funding applications to trusts and foundations.

• Excellent writing and editing skills — clear, concise, persuasive and adaptable to different audiences.

The Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA) is a charity dedicated to the promotion of the ideals and activities of the Combined Cadet Force in schools. About the Council

The role of Council is to lead on the GOC’s mission to protect the public by upholding high standards in eye care services.  The Council is composed of six lay members (including the Chair) and six registrant members (i.e. registered optometrists and dispensing opticians).  At least one member of the Council must work wholly or mainly in each of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.  One Council member acts as a Senior Council Member whose role is to carry out the Chair’s appraisal as well as provide a sounding board for the Chair and serve as an intermediary for Council members, Executive and stakeholders as necessary. 

The successful candidate will contribute to Council by exercising oversight, ensuring effective corporate governance, and making high-level policy decisions. They will be able to operate strategically and impartially; listen, communicate, and influence effectively; exercise judgment; and inspire confidence and support amongst our stakeholders. 

Remuneration and time commitment

Council members are remunerated in accordance with our member fees policy (£13,962 per annum plus reasonable travel and subsistence expenses).  The member fee includes time for reading and preparation.

The appointed member will be expected to commit approximately 2-3 days per month.  Meetings will usually take place via MS Teams but may on occasion be held at the GOC Offices at Level 29, One Canada Square, London, E14 5AA. There are occasional online catch-up meetings - these are currently scheduled on a Tuesday evening every 6-8 weeks, from 5.30pm – 6.30pm.

Help shape the voice of rheumatology and make a difference to people living with rheumatic conditions. We’re looking for a creative and proactive marketing and communications professional to join BSR.  The post-holder will support the planning and implementation of marketing and digital campaigns for a wide range of BSR projects, connecting us with our community. Managed by the Marketing and Communications Manager, the role is responsible for planning and building powerful marketing emails and newsletters in Dotdigital, creating digital assets, running social media content, running paid campaigns, and providing performance reports and insights. The role also includes updating website content, advising on SEO and user experience, and using analytics to support data-driven decision-making. Whether it’s promoting an event, launching a research initiative, or raising awareness of vital issues, your work will help us reach and inspire the right audiences.

About the role: 

We are looking for a passionate, ambitious Assistant Charity Shop Manager to join our successful team to help manage our charity shop in Old Swan. 

The Assistant Shop Manager will be an integral part of the wider Charity team.

Main Duties/Tasks: 

You will play a vital role in supporting the Shop Manager to lead, motivate, and develop a team of dedicated employees and volunteers, fostering strong community engagement and maximising the shop’s impact. This includes encouraging and harnessing the gifts of time from volunteers, goods from donors, and income from customers. As a visible and active ambassador for Alder Hey Children’s Charity on the high street, you will ensure the shop reflects the Charity’s values and purpose in all that it does. You will also support van collections and deliveries, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient transport of donated goods, while representing the Charity with enthusiasm and professionalism. 

Income generation: 

• Work with the Shop Manager to maximise sales and profits ensuring weekly targets are met. 

• Support the team to maximise income from Gift Aid on donated products. 

• Support the team to maximise income via our online platforms. 

• Support the team with arranging van deliveries/collections daily.

• Work with the wider Charity team to promote and support fundraising activities and events. 

• Explore ways to maximise sales via events, donation drives, pop-up shops etc.

Our location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. But one thing we have learned from the pandemic, is that we are able to work very effectively from home. We’re looking for two Place Leads to help drive our work in Stoke-on-Trent and East Staffordshire. Each role will be rooted in its local area, but both will work across the whole county, helping us build more connected, inclusive systems that support people to be active in ways that matter to them.

This work is part of a wider investment from Sport England, focused on changing how systems support people to be active. That means shaping how physical activity is understood, prioritised, and embedded, not just in programmes, but in policies, partnerships, and everyday decisions. That includes health, local government, community development, and beyond.

You’ll work with partners, communities, and decision-makers to make sense of what’s already happening, spot where things are stuck, and help shift both the culture and the practice. The work will be messy, layered, and relational. Some days will be about strategy. Others will be about trust.

You’ll be part of a small, committed team working across policy, systems, community insight and practice. And you’ll be trusted to bring your own judgement, experience, and clarity to the role.

What does this mean day to day?

• You’ll spend time listening to what’s emerging in communities, building trust with partners, and making sense of how insight, decisions, and action travel across the system.
• You’ll support our governance groups, coordinating agendas, shaping recommendations, and helping hold people gently but clearly to account for the things they’ve committed to.
• You’ll track where energy is building, where its leaking, and where attention needs to shift. That means spotting patterns, asking difficult questions, and making sure conversations lead to decisions, and decisions lead to change.
• You’ll need to hold contradictions without forcing resolution: where different truths exist at once, where progress creates new tensions, and where outcomes are unclear. Critical thinking is key; this role is as much about reflection and challenge as it is about delivery.
• Some days you’ll be co-designing a development session. Other days, you’ll be reflecting on what’s working, what’s drifting, and how we bring things back into focus. You’ll be supported by a small team who care about doing this work well, with clarity, kindness, and a shared sense of purpose.

You are a confident professional relationship builder with a good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. You will have strong administration skills and an understanding of compliant behaviours. You will also have good knowledge of the criminal justice system and awareness of other support provisions within the area.

As Senior Grants Manager, Environment and Communities, you will identify, assess, and manage grants that contribute to these evolving areas of interest. 

A particular focus of the role will be developing strategic grants and partnerships that contribute to Environmental Sustainability.  This is a developing area of interest, supporting activity that restores the natural environment and enabling practices such as nature friendly farming and community growing.  Current grantees include the Sustainable Food Trust, the Wildlife Trust, and local farmer clusters.  

The Foundation has recently launched a ‘Green Fund’ pilot, supporting Buckinghamshire grantees to deliver progress in environmental sustainability.  The role will lead on the delivery of this programme.

As well as developing relationships with external stakeholders you will also closely collaborate with colleagues, making connections between grants and activities at Waddesdon Manor.  In particular, working closely with the Rothschild Foundation’s Sustainability and Conservation Department and the Education & Learning Department.

The role will also support the development and assessment of grants to the Rothschild Foundation’s Community Fund which is open to not for profit organisations in Buckinghamshire who support local communities, with a particular focus on disadvantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic development of our Environment programme, including current explorations in community growing, nature friendly farming and nature restoration.
• Leading on the delivery of a ‘Green Fund’ pilot, supporting grantees and funded activities.  This will include working closely with the Evaluation and Impact Manager and Operations Manager to review the programme and make recommendations for future delivery to Grants Committee
• Maintaining an overview of the portfolio of ‘Environment’ grants, sharing learning and identifying connections across grantees
• Keeping up to date on sector development, identify funding gaps, and emerging opportunities.
• Identifying and supporting potential applicants, conducting visits, guiding proposal development, and ensuring due diligence standards are met
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with grantees, conducting six-monthly catch up conversations, visiting funded activity and acting as a ‘critical friend’
• Supporting the delivery of our Communities funding, including assessment of applications to the Community Fund and occasional Trustee related community grants
• Producing regular updates for Trustees, including project updates and data insights, and contribute to creative ways of sharing the impact of our funding
