We are looking for a talented fundraiser, ideally with a background in the cultural sector to join the Gardens, Libraries & Museums (GLAM) Team within the Development and Alumni Engagement team of the University of Oxford.
In this role in any given week you might see a dodo, extraordinary thousand-year old Chinese ceramics, insects collected by Darwin, the first scientifically described dinosaur and drawings by John Ruskin, as well as work on projects involving saving the largest flower in the world or supporting world-leading restitution work.
The collections are important and renowned on their own accounts, but also play a key role in the University’s research. In addition, they are the open doors to the University of Oxford, encouraging a diverse range of communities to engage with our academics and curators.
About the role:
Your role will include fundraising to support the various institutions, working with individuals, trusts and corporations. You will be responsible for a portfolio of donors, including prospecting and stewardship. As part of the wider GLAM fundraising team, you will also be responsible for delivery of stewardship events and get involved with wider appeal activities. You will work with curators and Directors in the various institutions and have the opportunity to frame appealing projects to present to prospects.

We are seeking an organised, proactive and diligent Membership and Engagement Coordinator to lead on the administrative support for our members and the wider Engagement team. The post holder will be responsible for providing a seamless experience for members wanting to join the ESU or for those renewing their membership. The Membership and Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for developing relationships with members and branch chairs, finding ways to involve members in the work of the ESU and maintaining oversight of the organisation’s CRM. The post holder will also help support the ESU’s events and international work.
Responsibilities:
· Support the Membership Manager to implement a new recruitment strategy to grow ESU membership in agreed target audiences
· Work with the Membership Manager to ensure a straightforward renewals process, this includes sending email and postal renewal communications, updating lapsed memberships and taking credit and debit card payments.
· Ensure membership records on the CRM are accurate and up-to-date.
· Assemble and dispatch Welcome Packs to new members.
· Act as the first point of contact for current and prospective members and assist with their queries.
· Assist with the production of monthly membership statistics and reports.
· Ensure the ESU has robust and clearly documented membership processes and make suggestions to enhance and resolve issues that arise.
· Maintain records of international ESUs and support the Director of Global Engagement with sending communications to this group.
· Liaise with branch chairs to support their requirements and provide details on membership statuses for their branch members.
Essential:
· An understanding of the nature and importance of the ESU’s charitable work within educational and wider contexts and a strong commitment to increasing the impact of the organisation’s work
· Highly organised, with an ability to ensure deadlines and targets are met
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to ensure a high level of accuracy when adding and amending database records
· A pro-active and positive attitude to problem resolution
· An ability to engage with multiple stakeholders at all levels
· IT literate with strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
Desirable:
· Previous experiencing using CRM systems
· Experience of supporting events

The Management Accountant is a key role that will provide in-year financial management, produce financial reports and add insight and analysis to meet budget holder needs.
Key responsibilities of the role will include;
- Budget management, working with budget holders to develop robust budget plans and monitor delivery
- Support budget holders with monthly forecasting
- Identify and monitor budget risks and opportunities, supporting stakeholders to develop mitigating actions
- Undertake all month-end tasks to ensure accurate financial information
- Prepare finance reports and translate financial information to non-finance stakeholders, providing narrative behind the numbers to influence decision making
In order to be successful in the role, you will need to be either formally qualified or working towards qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIPFA) as well as extensive financial experience, including journals and accruals, forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis.
Experience gained in a government department or ALB/NDPB would be preferred however applications from within wider Not for Profit or public sector organisations would also be encouraged.
As this is a relatively new organisation, candidates will also need to enjoy working in a dynamic environment and be keen to contribute to the continual development of the function.
This role is offered on flexible hybrid basis with at least 1 day per week in the London Westminster office.

Working in support of the Office & Facilities Manager, you will ensure the implementation of the organisation’s health and safety procedures on daily basis and contribute more generally to the management and maintenance tasks of the Hub and the broader Crane Grove estate.
Dynamic and able to contribute either independently or as part of a team, you will work with a hands-on approach to establish and help maintain the systems needed to propel the organisation forward.
