About the role
In this role you will have an opportunity to champion and deliver an unrivalled experience to all customers, leading on handling complaints, feedback and compliments across all channels, in accordance with Macmillan’s values, regulatory requirement policies and standards.

The role

We’re looking for a high performing, creative and driven Digital Manager to work in our communications and marketing department on a temporary basis, to drive all areas of Family Fund’s digital work.  You’ll develop digital strategies and campaigns that improve conversion with our key audiences, raise vital income and boost brand profile.  You’ll also provide expert advice on the evolution of our digital channels and communications, to ensure we keep pace with fast-changing digital developments. 

The person we’re looking for 

To be considered for this role you’ll need to evidence significant experience managing and improving the performance of digital channels (including social media, e-marketing and websites) using analytics to inform decision-making. You should have specialist knowledge of digital across a range of techniques and have experience in managing paid-for digital advertising budgets and campaigns. With experience using Content Management Systems (CMS) and of platform analytics tools including Google Analytics, Facebook and X, you should have a sound understanding of an integrated approach to digital marketing and knowledge of data protection best practice and legislation.

A confident communicator with strong analytical, literacy and numeracy skills, you’ll be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a wider team. Organised and hard-working, you’ll be a pro-active self-starter that can hit the ground running and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve growth objectives for our national charity brand.

Launched in the summer of 2019 on a 2,000-acre estate in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), Wales, the Penpont Project is the largest intergenerational nature restoration project of its kind anywhere in the world. Initiated by Action for Conservation, the Penpont Estate, Tirmawr Farm, and a Youth Leadership Group of 12-18 year olds from diverse backgrounds, the project aims to restore nature and culture in this special place and demonstrate how youth leadership and ambition can advance nature’s recovery at a time of acute ecological crisis.

We are looking for a Learning & Engagement Coordinator to join our flagship Penpont Project, empowering young people and intergenerational communities to connect with, feel inspired by and take action for nature. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a unique and innovative project, maximising positive outcomes for young people and the environment. 

Key details

Start date: around 22 September, exact date to be agreed
Contract: Part-time, fixed-term for 12 months, with possibility to extend duration and/or increase working hours when additional funding is secured
Starting salary: £16,872.76 - £17,590.75 (equivalent to £28,121.27 - £29,317.92 FTE) depending on experience
Working hours: 21 hours / 3 days per week. This role requires evening and weekend work, including regular residential/overnight stays (6-10 times per year). Time off in lieu (TOIL) can be taken for overtime work.
Location: Penpont, Brecon (Wales). This role requires regular travel within the local region as well as some national travel for team events.

About the role

As Learning & Engagement Coordinator, you will support the successful delivery and ongoing development of our learning and engagement work as part of the Penpont Project, playing an active role in empowering young people and intergenerational communities to connect with, feel inspired by and take action for nature. You will proactively engage the Penpont Project’s Youth Leadership Group, school and youth groups, local community members and other stakeholders, and will help to design, organise and run a wide variety of events and activities for them to take part in. These will include both day visits and residential stays (including at our brand new Forest Camp site) as well as online sessions. You will also support our Youth Rangers programme and similar professional development opportunities. In doing so, you will play a vital role in strengthening our flagship intergenerational approach to nature restoration and maximising positive outcomes for young people and the planet. 

In your day-to-day, you will work closely with our  Penpont Learning & Engagement Manager as well as with our Land-based Projects and Policy Lead, Penpont Project Manager and Technical Lead and with our project partners, the Penpont Estate and Tirmawr Farm, to make sure our learning and engagement activities are aligned with wider project work and actions happening on the land.

To succeed in this role, you will be a highly organised, creative, flexible and self-motivated project coordinator who thrives in a varied and dynamic work environment. You will also be an inspiring communicator and skilled facilitator who can engage and build relationships with a wider range of stakeholders and communities, especially young people.

Key responsibilities:

• Engage young people and the wider community around Penpont to take part in our learning and engagement programme and wider activities on site.
• Facilitate the activity of the Penpont Youth Leadership Group during and outside of residential visits to Penpont and ensure young people are equipped with the skills, knowledge and confidence ot engage fully with the project.
• Support the planning, coordination and delivery of a bespoke learning programme for school/youth groups that inspires and empowers young people to connect with and act for nature and aligns with actions happening on the land.
• Support the planning, coordination and delivery of regular community action days at Penpont, engaging local community members and supporting them to undertake practical nature restoration work in line with the project's action plan.
• Support the planning, coordination and delivery of events bringing together intergenerational stakeholders to collectively design a future vision for people and nature at Penpont and the wider Upper Usk catchment area.
• Support the running of the Penpont Youth Rangers programme and help to oversee the Rangers' day-to-day activities.
• Support monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) activities at Penpont to understand the impact of the project and facilitate learnings.

What we are looking for

• Experience of working with young people, ideally aged 12-18, with proven ability to engage, motivate and support young people from diverse backgrounds
• Strong environmental knowledge and practical skills
• Great facilitation skills with a track record of facilitating stimulating, interactive and inclusive group activities both in-person and online, including practical activities in an outdoor setting
• Experience of organising and running community and/or educational events from start to finish, including liaising with partners and participants, managing logistics, safeguarding and health and safety
• Excellent organisational and time management skills and ability to plan ahead, work across multiple tasks and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines
• A positive, proactive and self-reliant approach to work and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills and ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, partners, young people and other stakeholders
• Good IT skills
• Willingness to work outside of usual office hours and to travel regionally to meet the needs of the project

Developing and leading on the delivery of existing fundraising events as well as developing and delivering future events (which will include overnight stays) Build high value relationships with members and donors, for a wide range of audiences and media, supporting communications and marketing activities, working closely with colleagues across the organisation.

A good telephone manner is essential, together with excellent literacy, verbal analytical and IT skills, coupled with the ability to work to tight deadlines, often under pressure. To be able to show initiative and a ‘can do’ attitude at all times

**  The Fundraising and Events team are very busy and flexibility is required at busy times throughout the year.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Fundraising

 i.      Work collaboratively with multiple internal stakeholders to capture and understand requirements, identify new opportunities or build on existing activity to help achieve income targets.

ii.       To data input and maintain events in line with current practices.

iii.       To help find volunteers to attend events.

iv.        To send out and organise fundraising merchandise and materials for Cinnamon Trust and volunteer events.

Events

i.            To be available to attend major events for The Cinnamon Trust, making sure that all holidays are worked round our events diary.

ii.             To drive The Cinnamon Trust van and trailer to events.

iv.             To make sure the appearance of the stand is always presentable.

v.              To manage volunteers at an event and give a briefing at the beginning of the day regarding objectives.

vi              To seek any permissions required for an event and complete risk assessments required.

vii              To make sure that furniture and other equipment is available at each event.

viii              To make sure all materials for an event are event appropriate (eg: could be a volunteer driven event or PP)  and well stocked.

ix                  To account for stock and merchandise for each event and fill out request forms that will be logged against each event.

x.                  To make sure that any cash taken at an event is kept safe.

xi.                 To liaise with the PR and Marketing department regarding events and to supply photos and copy for their use. To work with the PR and Marketing team regarding fundraising campaigns and promotions.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

To work within a team to provide excellent support to the community service support department.  To help ensure accurate and timely follow ups take place with all new and ongoing cases.  To build rapport with our clients, both petitioners and volunteers alike, by making contact primarily via the telephone or email and letter where needed.  To be warm and friendly and have empathy with our clients’ needs.  To quickly identify any problems and ensure each conversation is handled in a compassionate manner. 

A good telephone manner is essential, together with excellent literacy and IT skills, coupled with the ability to work to tight deadlines, often under pressure.

This is a sensitive role which requires an individual with the ability to handle confidential information and correspondence.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

i. Under direction, to help ensure that the support for all new and ongoing cases is provided by ensuring contact is made within set timescales and according to set protocols.

ii. To ensure timely referral to the operations team when a volunteer drops out or a need for extra help is identified.

iii. To help answer all incoming calls general queries relating to community service support for our clients.

iv. Throughout the course of your work to ensure you record your responses on each individual case on our database. To contribute to the team by helping to also update volunteer information from each telephone conversation. 

v. Under direction, to assist with responses to both incoming and outgoing to DL letters and update each case, to ensure a prompt reply and timely referral where necessary.

vi. Throughout the course of your work, to identify when on the phone, possible good stories to enable us to approach and persuade all individuals involved to submit an article for the newsletter.

vii. To handle telephone inquiries and relay messages where appropriate.

viii. To demonstrate a proactive, positive and flexible attitude to all our clients.

The Digital Inclusion Worker will be responsible for providing targeted one-to-one digital support and delivering workshops to both disabled and non-disabled residents of Enfield, helping them to improve their digital skills. The Digital Inclusion Worker will also involve residents in the co-design of the project, network with community groups and partner organisations, support the recruitment of volunteers, troubleshoot technical challenges faced by residents, and assist ECP’s Project Manager in producing key performance indicators (KPIs) and progress reports.

The Digital Inclusion Worker will have extensive Digital Inclusion knowledge to:

• Manage the Enfield Digital Champions (Volunteers) project ensuring adherence to compliance, health and safety matters, and quality assurance.
• Support the recruitment of Digital Champion volunteers to sustain and enhance a network of 10 digital champions per year delivering support and skills training in Enfield.
• Provide training and development opportunities to volunteers to sustain interest and enhance skills.
• Manage the programme of digital skills workshops and work with ECP Project Manager to on-board new locations for groups/sessions.
• Host Bi-monthly network sessions for all champions and provide appropriate related 1:1 support, as required.
• Create bespoke workshop material based on resident top learning priorities.

As an Employment Consultant, you will be assisting veterans across the region back into work. Based at your home, but with extensive travel, you will help with application materials, overcome challenges, and connect with employers.
