This is a brand new role with Action Duchenne, leading our new Fundraising and Communications team. This role is part of the Senior Leadership Team.

Main Purpose of the Role:

To manage, lead and support the Fundraising and Communications Team to retain donors, increase income and provide clear direction for our communications. This role will involve supporting relationships with sponsors of Action Duchenne’s International Conference, developing and implementing the fundraising and communications strategy, and reviewing our case for support for our core work and projects.

Specific Tasks:

The focus areas and key deliverables of this role are as follows:

• Develop and deliver on a clear fundraising and communications strategy, with annual action plans and clear objectives and KPIs for team members.

• Understand and keep abreast of sector trends and compliance updates relating to fundraising and communications

• Develop and maintain oversight of all budgets, targets, forecasts and processes relating to fundraising and communications

• Co-ordinate the prioritising of income streams, including community, individual giving, corporate, legacy and trust and grants

• Research, identify, and where there is capacity, pursue income generation opportunities that match the objectives of Action Duchenne

• Ensure Action Duchenne is compliant with all applicable elements of the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice, law, and the Charity Commission relating to fundraising

• Research, identify and apply to Trusts and Foundations with a clear pipeline

• Prepare reports for Trustees either for the full Board, or where required, to sub committees, which will include fundraising and communications progress against objectives.

• With a team keen to learn, provide leadership and hands on support to ensure objectives are achieved

• Undertake a review of all Communications materials, including social media and website

• Lead by example across the team and organisation

• Be part of, and therefore contribute towards and prepare for Senior Leadership Team meetings

• Identify existing or potential events to develop relationships with funders, including Action Duchenne’s annual international conference

• Feed in to the development of the international conference, led by the Head of Operations & Events

• Work with staff across the organisation to ensure all elements of work are collaborative, specifically when submitting funding bids or developing the annual international conference

• To maintain the contact database, keeping it up to date and accurate

• Continue to invest in professional development in yourself and your team, including safeguarding

• Identify opportunities, alongside the team, for cross team working - including residentials; family events; Science Educations workshops with regional meetups and education visits to schools and local authorities.

• Obtain, decipher and provide training to the Support Team on new updates relevant to Duchenne families, such as DLA, EHCP and more.

• Work closely with your team, to ensure that each family receives the best support possible, and that long-term support is provided.

• Lead on the development and delivery of monthly reporting of engagement and support contact, which will feed into the wider All Through Support journey. 

• To work with the Head of Operations and Events to contribute to Agenda topics and speakers from the community; assign roles for the conference to the Support Team.

• Establish a database for external stakeholders also supporting those living with Duchenne on a national basis, fed in to from the Support Team.

• To develop a triaging and caseload process for the Support Team, and how best to regularly monitor this.

• Be involved in the recruitment, selection, and induction of volunteers appropriate to your area of work. 

• Coordinate cover for the Support Team when there is sickness or leave.

The role

We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Opportunity Centre Officer to lead operations at this innovative space, ensuring it becomes a hub of inspiration and growth for young people.

This is a fixed term contract starting late August/early September 2025 until July 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

· Oversee day-to-day access and use of the Centre, including student registration and visitor management.

· Ensure the facility is safe, secure, and welcoming, including health and safety checks, safeguarding measures, and ICT setup.

· Coordinate the planning, setup, and cleanup of learning activities.

· Manage basic building maintenance, including coordinating repairs, ensuring cleanliness, and overseeing general upkeep of the facility.

Youth Engagement & Programme Delivery:

· Support external facilitators and partners in delivering inspiring and educational sessions.

Administrative & Event Coordination:

· Assist the AI Campus Director with key administrative tasks.

Stakeholder & Partner Collaboration:

· Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, parents, students, and community organisations.

Safeguarding & Compliance:

· Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring all safeguarding policies are upheld.

· Conduct regular health and safety checks, addressing any issues proactively.

Continuous Improvement:

· Gather feedback from students, parents, and partners to identify service gaps and opportunities for enhancement.

· Contribute ideas to further develop the Centre’s programming and operational excellence.

Service Charge Analyst

They are seeking an organised, diligent Service Charge professional to support on the technical side of the Service Charge lifecycle and improve processes within the department. You will work closely with budget holders, enabling data-led decision-making and supporting donor and committee reporting. As a key member of a small, collaborative team, you will be hands-on managing a mix of transactional and more advanced duties, proactive in ensuring the key points in the yearly Service Charge cycle run smoothly.

Role Responsibilities:

• Undertake assigned processing, accounting, monitoring, control and review of service charge income and costs on a periodic basis.
• Review service charge income and costs monthly to ensure they have been charged to the correct scheme and fully investigate and resolve any principal variances and anomalies identified (e.g., miscoding’s, duplications).
• Prepare periodic reconciliations of service charge income and costs on a scheme/block level and with the preparation of annual service charge estimates and actuals processes for all tenures.
• Resolve service charge queries from internal and external customers.
• Complete assigned elements of strategic delivery projects across the organization, particularly relating to service charge specific projects.
• Ensure consistent apportionment and allocation of scheme costs in mixed tenure blocks and other complex schemes and regular monitoring, control and analysis of such costs.

Person Specification:

• Experience in service charge computation, accounting and analysis, including preparation of service charge budgets, estimates and actuals

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Moving and Handling advisor, with an interest in working with older people, to join our established and well-regarded in-house Therapy team at Nightingale Hammerson. We’re a diverse, friendly team who are passionate about delivering exceptional services for our Jewish Residents across a full spectrum of needs through a relationship-centred care framework and within a palliative care model.

Your role will be split between delivering moving and handling training to our care teams, supporting teams on the households with moving and handling activities, carrying out complex moving and handling assessments, working as part of a multidisciplinary team and introducing service development initiatives and innovation. You’ll work holistically with a keen interest in our equipment and establish effective relationships with our external stakeholders.

You’ll have time to get to know and work collaboratively with our Residents implementing rehabilitation programmes and optimising functional ability to improve quality of life. Put simply, you will make a difference.

Our ideal candidate will be skilled in facilitating learning, supporting residents with complex needs using a range of skills and techniques, using advanced communication skills and strategies to support engagement and being confident with supporting Residents who may be frail and living with a range of medical conditions until the end of their lives. We particularly also welcome candidates with an interest in 24 hour postural support and MDT working around seating and positioning.  This role offers a mix of leadership opportunities including delivering training as well as hands on face-to-face time

Responsibilities

About the role: 

• Working in collaboration with service leadership colleagues and staff team to identify meaningful opportunities for volunteers
• Supporting with leadership duties across both treatment service and recovery service
• Creating and supporting a positive culture of volunteering within the service
• Recruit, train and coordinate volunteers, peer mentors and recovery champions
• Line manages the recovery champions in post and support them with their professional development
• Be the service lead with coproduction projects across sites including coproduction space and service user activities
• Supporting the welfare and wellbeing of volunteers, peer mentors and recovery champions
• Managing a volunteer recruitment and support strategy within the service
• Volunteering Lead and other service-based Volunteering Leads across the organisation
• Engage with those who access our services, by listening to their views and asking for their feedback
• Represent the views and opinions of those who access our services
• Provide feedback and updates to those who access our services informing them of any changes and decisions.
• Work with staff and community to improve and develop the service
