We have one permanent Funding Officer position in the Yorkshire and the Humber regional team.

Join us as a Funding Officer and you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference to communities across the region. Working as part of the Yorkshire and the Humber team as part of a team of 20 colleagues you will combine hybrid working - either from home, our Leeds office adjacent to Leeds station, or project visits, to understand how and where amazing people and organisations are transforming neighbourhoods.

If you have previous experience for a funder, then that is great but it’s not a necessity.

• You will need to be confident with comprehension and writing because you will be working with those applying for grants to advise and support them as necessary to develop proposals including project budgets.
   
• You’ll work with your colleagues to assess and recommend projects for funding. Some days you’ll be attending funders fairs, in person or online, whilst on others you may be meeting with Councils or other funders to share information about need and funding in a particular neighbourhood.
   
• You’ll also have responsibility for overseeing a portfolio of projects to ensure they are on track. If you have experience of the voluntary sector that would be ideal, particularly in the Yorkshire and Humber region.
   
• Confident in writing, comprehension and with an understanding of budgets you will be passionate about supporting communities to build on their strengths to improve lives.

Essential criteria

We’re looking for a dynamic, strategic and articulate professional fundraiser to drive forward our emerging major donor programme. Working alongside senior Laureus staff and stakeholders to connect, cultivate and steward high net worth individuals around the work of the Foundation, the post holder will be expected to design and support the execution of a range of high-quality events leaning on the excellent brand profile assets at Laureus’ disposal.

Experience of creating bespoke donor journeys, delivering long term engagement and an understanding or experience of the third sector will enable success in this fast-paced and varied role.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate all HNW activity ensuring that:
  • Appropriate levels of communication are established and maintained
  • Records are kept fully up to date and are appropriately reported
  • Key staff (Chairman, CEO, Development Director etc) are prompted and supported with communication and activities

• Create and/or deepen partnerships with organisations where mutual benefit can be received, including Richemont maisons ; other Laureus partners; new prospective partners with connections to pools of HNW individuals

• Assess existing events and amend/develop a revised calendar of events annually that supports outreach, conversion and stewardship of HNW pool of supporters – whilst also ensuring profit is made on the event itself

• Encouragement and support of HNW supporters to create their own activities to raise funds and/or broaden the network of Laureus donors

• Provide first class stewardship to the International Council/Friends of Laureus group of HNW supporters whilst also exploring if other products or partnerships might offer attractive benefits to donors

• Work with programme colleagues to create opportunities for programme visits open to key donors – either in the UK or internationally, whilst also extracting key programme asks for funding

• Work with talent team colleagues to create engagement opportunities with Laureus Academy Members and Ambassadors that support HNW engagement and stewardship

• Use sector knowledge and insight to keep on top of best practice around HNW donor engagement, cultivation and stewardship

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Proven track record of successful fundraising experience
• Experience of building long-term, trust-based relationships with HNWI
• Developed or contributed to HNW fundraising campaigns 
• Strategic and result-driven approach to planning donor journeys and stewardship programmes
• Proficient in using donor databases (e.g. Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce) for tracking contacts and income and data analytics/ prospect research
• Experience in organising bespoke donor and facilitating networking opportunities between donors and charity leadership or beneficiaries
• Skilled in writing tailored proposals, impact reports, and stewardship updates
• Ability to manage stakeholders relationships (trustees, directors, senior volunteers)

Purpose

The Fundraising Development Officer supports the delivery of our individual giving programme, helping to nurture current supporters and attract new ones.

You will be responsible for building our regular giving support, implementing supporter journeys and co-ordinating our annual appeals. You will also work closely with the Head of Fundraising in developing our major donor plans, and support with other individual giving channels, including in-memory giving and legacy giving. 

The role also takes a lead on prospect research, supporting the development of our portfolio of high-value prospects. Through detailed research on prospects and donors, you will build prospect pipelines that will support income growth across the fundraising team. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will see you supporting individual fundraisers across the team nd strengthening the prospect pipelines that drive income at the highest levels. You will use a range of sources to obtain relevant information that can contribute to proposals, communications and donation strategies. 

We are looking for someone who has great communication and research skills, and a collaborative approach. You will be a self-motivated, proactive and analytical individual with the ability to build, manage and develop relationships across teams. 

While a background in fundraising or prospect research is desirable, it is not essential. If you bring the right skills and are willing to learn, we'd love to hear from you. 

Key responsibilities and duties 

• Manage our ‘Friends of Charlie Waller’ regular giving scheme, building the supporter numbers and engagement with the charity. 

• Deliver exceptional supporter care to our regular supporters, recognising opportunities for deeper engagement and potential for further support. 

• Implement the supporter journeys for regular and one-off donors, creating communications to engage them with the cause and understand the impact. 

• Co-ordinate our appeals cycle, working closely with colleagues across the charity to collate appeal content, including case studies, statistics and images. 

• Support the development of our major donor plans, identifying prospects within our supporter base and assisting with stewardship plans.

• Support the development of our plans for building in-memory and legacy giving, including stewardship and cultivation events. 

• Undertake detailed research on prospects and donors to grow our portfolio of high-value supporters, including individuals, corporates and trusts. 

• Complete due diligence checks on prospective supporters, in line with the Trust’s donations acceptance policy.

• Monitor research subscriptions & news alerts to identify new opportunities. 

• Share insight and knowledge on the latest trends in philanthropy and corporate giving with the rest of the team.

• Provide regular updates on progress against agreed objectives and contribute to wider departmental fundraising reports as required. 

• Attend CWT events as appropriate to establish new contacts, develop existing relationships, and raise the profile of CWT with potential supporters. 

• Ensure that systems and processes are effective, and that our database is being updated and utilised as the central source of information.

• Ensure compliance to data protection, safeguarding, confidentiality and relevant organisational policies and procedures.  

• Routine call handling as part of the wider office administrative team.

The digital skills gap is costing the UK economy an estimated £63 billion a year in lost GDP. Ada seeks to fill this skills gap by equipping young with the skills industry actually needs.

Ada was announced by the Prime Minister in December 2014; England’s first new FE College since 1993 and since then we’ve gone from strength  to strength including a Good with Outstanding features in our first Ofsted Inspection.

16-19 Provision:

As of 2024, we have 187 16-19 students enrolled. Our most recent results are outstanding; 39% of A level results at A*- B and 74% achieving at least one Distinction or better in their externally assessed  Computing BTEC. This makes us the best education institution in the country for this BTEC.

Degree Apprenticeships:

Across our London Victoria and Manchester Ancoats campus, we have 363 apprentices currently enrolled on our Higher and Degree Level Apprenticeships. We specialise in five disciplines at present: software development, data analytics, tech consultancy, cyber security and business analysis, working with a wide range of SMEs and corporate organisations such as PwC, Bank of America, Deloitte, Clearscore, Just Eat, Capita, MHRA, Booking,com and Salesforce.

At present 38% of our learners are female, 51% are from ethnic minority backgrounds and 50% come from low income households compared to national averages of c. 20%. We’re passionate about building a supportive, values driven environment for both our students and staff.

Key Aspects of the role & main duties and responsibilities:

• Promote Ada at outreach events (careers fairs, assemblies, workshops) across Greater Manchester with the aim of meeting our application, offer holder and enrolment targets.
• Engage and network with school contacts to ensure growth of Ada’s active contacts in outreach database.
• Manage and maintain of the school database to support outreach communications.
• Assist with event planning, administration and delivery including Outreach events, Careers Fairs, Open Days, School visits to Ada and Keep Warm events - This may involve commitment on some weekends and will require evenings and earlier starts.
• Ensure we are on track to meet our targets for the volume of applications, offers and ultimately enrolments for our new Manchester Sixth Form and ensure we meet our diversity targets.
• Support the administration of the Sixth Form application process including dealing with enquiries to the inbox and on the phone in a timely manner.
•  Sending application communications including invitations for assessment, offers and enrollment paperwork,  data entry and keeping accurate records of all applicants and their information within the customer relationship management tools (Salesforce, Civica and others).
• Accurate record keeping and data entry into Ada’s systems to produce insightful reports to drive recruitment and inform the leadership team.
• Administration and processing of students enrolments on GCSE results days and afterwards.
• Support with creation of Marketing materials for outreach campaigns and events.

The programme 

The mandate of the Knowledge, Learning and Communications (KLC) programme is to capture, distil and share knowledge and learning to strengthen Foundation’s impact and effectiveness. The programme brings together a range of functions critical to the Foundation’s identity, coherence and visibility including the facility to learn internally; management of information and infrastructure; leadership of the Foundation’s monitoring and evaluation work; and all aspects of our communications and outreach including reporting.  

The role 

The Programme Officer (PO) will support the effective delivery of the Foundation’s Knowledge, Learning and Communications (KLC) workplan. Working under the supervision of the KLC Programme Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the Foundation’s websites; planning and creating content for our online channels that communicates meaningful results and tells the Foundation’s story in as engaging way as possible; event coordination, facilitation and promotion; support for media relations; support for annual reporting and results monitoring; and support to Foundation staff in the optimal use of communications tools and IT. 

Key tasks and responsibilities 

The postholder will undertake the following key tasks: 

• Actively promote the values and aims of the Commonwealth 

• Monitor and engage with sector news, trends and discussions 

• Plan and create content for all social media channels, monitoring and reporting on social media reach and digital metrics

• Manage content for the Foundation’s websites and work with web developers to develop functionality and meet evolving needs 

• Play a leading role in event coordination and promotion 

• Work collaboratively with the other Foundation programmes, identifying opportunities to maximise synergies towards the Foundation’s vision and mission 

• Guide staff in the effective use of information technology including platforms such as Zoom Webinars and databases like Airtable  

• Generate writing and other media that captures ideas and best practice from one area of our work and communicates it effectively with a wider audience 

• Coordinate and support data collection and monitoring results against our strategy  

• Prepare copy and content for briefing notes, reports and presentations  

• Guide and support staff in their communications 

The individual 

We seek an individual with demonstrated experience in communications gained within a comparable field, especially of social media and online marketing, along with experience of using website content management systems.  The ideal candidate will also have experience using the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and have a good understanding of Microsoft tools and webinar/virtual meeting platforms. They will have strong writing skills and experience in storytelling and reporting, along with an ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders. They should have an awareness of ensuring brand and style guidelines are reflected across communication activities and be comfortable acting as a first point of contact for media enquiries as well as liaising with colleagues and external suppliers.

Salary expectations:  £32,076 - £35,605 per annum

We have two court-based offices, at the Royal Courts of Justice on the Strand, and at the Central Family Court on High Holborn, although we mainly now provide advice by telephone and can therefore support people who are accessing any court in England and Wales. This vital role provides a high quality first point of contact and initial triage service which includes dealing with requests for advice made in person at our two central London Courts, via our website, by email, by telephone or a referral internally or from a third party. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a professional telephone manner to join us as Tele-Fundraising Intern. You will help promote Shelter and enhance our ability to retain our supporters. This is an exciting opportunity and you will play a key part in standing up to the housing emergency.

About the role

You will be the first point of contact for supporters seeking information about Shelter’s work, so will need excellent communication and administrative skills, a real interest in housing issues, as well as an understanding of how the Outbound Supporter Services Team impacts supporter retention. Your day to day work will include calling supporters to welcome them to the organisation and thank them for choosing to support us, undertaking quality control surveys and ensuring supporter data is accurate.

You will promote Shelter, raise awareness of housing and homelessness issues and enhance our ability to retain our supporters. You will respond to enquiries about Shelter’s work and action supporter requests. You will maintain accurate supporter records and liaise with other departments to ensure changes are actioned, as well as handling complaints about services and fundraising activity.

There will be on the job training, support and supervision. The successful candidate will have access to Shelter’s Employee Assistance Programme. We can also offer flexible hours, with some office working.

About you

The role is open to anyone who has have lived experience of disadvantage, such as homelessness, housing issues, the criminal justice system, mental ill-health, money and debt issues or other disadvantages. Coventry Women’s Partnership (CWP) is looking for a Policy, Voice, and Influence Lead to support our 2-year place-based systems change programme, funded by the Smallwood Trust. The programme aims to reduce gendered poverty in Coventry by tackling the systemic barriers faced in securing a safe home. This work will focus on understanding and transforming housing systems. Seeking to and improve outcomes for women experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity, and multiple disadvantage.

CWP is partnership made up of Central England Law Centre, Coventry Haven Women’s Aid, CRASAC, FWT and Kairos. The contract will be with Kairos, but you will provide support across all partners.

· The Policy, Voice and Influence Lead (PVIL) will play a pivotal role in driving forward the Coventry Women’s Partnership’s (CWP) systems change agenda to improve housing and homelessness options for women to reduce gendered poverty.

· You will be confident in taking the lead in this work while remaining in regular communication and collaboration with the partnership.

· You will help us analyse the systems, policies, practices and strategy around housing for women and their impact on poverty and create a delivery programme to influence and collaborate with stakeholders for change.

· Your attitude will be pragmatic and ‘can do’ as you carve a realistic path between confidence and caution when planning projects and delivery.

· Integral to this work will be drawing on members’ experience and expertise and the voices of women with lived experience (supported by a Women’s Engagement & Participation Coordinator) to ensure the partnership’s activities are delivered on time and to budget.
