Role - Zero Hours Children's Resource Worker

Hours - variable and inconsistent including evenings and weekends

Salary - £12.77 per hour plus 15% Holiday Pay

Location - Applicants must be based in the West Midlands area to be able to cover carers and children support within Walsall, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Dudley, Sandwell, Coventry, Warwickshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and Telford.

TACT West Midlands are looking for a children's resource worker to collaborate with them to support foster children and carers in the region. The ideal Children's Resource Worker will already have some experience in engagement and participation with vulnerable young people, care experienced children or have similar experience in child-facing settings. High level of flexibility required to cover weekends, evenings and bank holidays. Occasionally may be required to support with overnight residentials and night support within the foster home. Car driver and owning a car is essential. There will be opportunities for training and development for this role, as new workers join us at our organisation wide journey to become a fully trauma-informed organisation. The successful candidate will undertake essential  duties that will impact positively on the long-term outcomes for the young people and children in our care. This role is an essential part of the wider team, working in close partnership with parents, carers, young people, local authorities and their social workers.

Key duties and abilities for our Children's Resource Worker will include:

• Supporting interventions and activities to ensure stable placement arrangements
• Ability to transport children and young people to events, appointments and meetings (mileage reimbursed)
• Occasional participation in virtual and face to face events and occasional residential meet ups
• Ability to attend and assist with organising events and activities
• Understanding and maintaining knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures
• Use of IT for email and communication
• Willingness to work flexibly, according to deadlines and needs of our families

The Naval Children’s Charity (NCC) are dedicated to improving the wellbeing and development of Naval children and young people.  We provide a wealth of support, guidance and resources to help dependant children (up to and including the age of 25) whose parents/guardians serve or have served in the Royal Navy and who are in need, hardship or distress. With a team of caseworkers in Portsmouth, Helensburgh and Plymouth, we offer financial assistance, free resources and a range of opportunities to address the challenges that the children and young people face as a result of their parents’ service.

Purpose of job

1. Triage casework

The team:
The Visitor and Audience Operations (VAO) department is at the heart of delivering exceptional experiences for all who visit Shakespeare’s Globe. Barnardo's Kickstart Futures Service; Floating Support for Care Leavers in Sutton.

Barnardo's, in partnership with The London Borough of Sutton, is providing a floating support service for Care Leavers with low to medium levels of support needs.

The service provides floating support to Young People across a range of properties located within the borough of Sutton, as well as a small number of Young People based elsewhere in the community, mainly around The London Borough of Sutton and neighbouring boroughs.

Some residents are Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Young People (UASYP), or survivors of Human Trafficking, who are over the age of 18.

The service delivers key work support to each Young Person on an individual basis and additional group work sessions for property residents. Key work sessions are scheduled in collaboration with the Young Person. Key work hours will be delivered flexibly to meet the needs of the Young People and include regular evenings and weekends in order to fit around college and/or work schedules for Young People who are engaged in Education, Employment or Training.

We are now seeking to recruit new project workers, with experience of working with Care Leavers, to help us grow this exciting new service. We would welcome applications for as and when part time workers.

About the Role

In brief, this role involves working alongside the International Liaison Officer for Dialogue on Human Sexuality and the Researcher & Strategist for Human Sexuality where you will provide Admin support to this busy section. The section connects with the 61 Territories around the world and provides support, training and resources. The admin assistant will assist this small team in working effectively and will support the goal to bring dialogue on human sexuality in the countries in which we work.

The section promotes the use of resources as well as updating and writing new materials. The admin assistant will also assist the Researcher & Strategist with research projects using Survey Monkey as well as engaging in the writing and presentation of documents relating to strategy.

About You

Role Summary

The main function of the School Engagement Coordinator role is to

• The School Engagement Coordinator for Northern Ireland serves as a crucial liaison for the Into Film programme in the region. This role involves actively engaging with schools and educators to promote and support their participation in various initiatives related to film, games, and creative media.
• The Engagement Coordinator will be instrumental in ensuring that schools and teachers have access to the full range of educational resources, training, and opportunities offered by Into Film. They will collaborate closely with the Northern Ireland team to provide tailored support and foster meaningful connections between schools, the creative arts, and the industry.

Given the nature of the role, the Co-ordinator may need to work occasional weekends and extended hours, as well as travel regularly to designated regions and occasionally elsewhere in the UK.

Main Responsibilities: 

• Proactively engage with schools, teachers, and educational stakeholders across Northern Ireland to raise awareness of Into Film's programmes and resources.
• Deliver a range of educational activities, including school workshops, screenings and industry events, tailored to the needs of the local area.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with schools, creative organisations, and screen industry bodies to support the delivery of Into Film's initiatives in NI.
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of Northern Ireland-specific programmes, including Story Builder, Games, Teaching with Film, Careers and Progression, and Young Creatives.
• Collaborate with teams across Into Film to ensure a joined-up approach to programme delivery, KPI achievement, and budgetary oversight.
• Ensure that Into Film's programmes respond to local needs and reach across Northern Ireland, while also feeding into the organization's UK-wide initiatives.
• Manage local partnerships and relationships, utilising CRM (Salesforce) to input and analyse data, create reports, and inform programme design.
• Support the existing Northern Ireland team with the delivery of locally funded projects and initiatives.

Person Specification:

Minimum Requirements:

• Significant experience in designing and delivering engaging educational programmes, including youth workshops and industry-facing events.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Northern Ireland education system, curriculum, and the local creative/screen industries.
• A track record of establishing and nurturing partnerships with schools, organisations, and industry stakeholders.
• Proven ability to successfully manage projects, including cross-departmental collaboration, budget oversight, and timely delivery.
• Experience in using data to generate reports, analyse programme impact, and inform future initiatives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.

About the Role    

We are looking for a Helpline Officer to join our small and supportive Services Team. This role is central to delivering high-quality information and advice via our Helpline, and to supporting and working alongside our trained Helpline Volunteers. 

The Helpline is a trusted source of support for people affected by ataxia, offering clear, accessible information on a wide range of issues including welfare benefits, accessing grants, and access to health and social care. The role also contributes to the wider development of our Helpline and Advocacy services, helping ensure those who need more in-depth support are connected to the right resources. 

This is a part-time role, working 14 hours per week to help deliver our Helpline service. The Helpline currently operates Monday to Thursday from 10:30am to 2:30pm, with plans to extend these hours in the future. 

About you  

You have experience providing advice and information, and you're confident talking to people who may be dealing with difficult situations. You’re comfortable working on your own and as part of a small team. Experience with helplines, volunteers, or long-term health conditions would be an advantage.
