We have an opportunity for an Executive Officer to join our Innovation Unit for six months.

At The National Lottery Community Fund we believe that innovation is the key to addressing complex challenges and creating transformative change. To support the implementation of our new strategy we launched a dedicated Innovation Unit to become the driving force behind our commitment to Innovation, equity, diversity, and inclusion. This Unit is now nearly 18 months into a 2 year pilot and is delivering significant work on AI, environmental regeneration, crisis support, and equity across health, funding and participation.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a small, high paced team that harnesses innovation to support change in one of the UK’s most significant funders. We deliver all our work through an equity lens, working for historically underserved communities using the curb cut effect. We are looking for someone to work across everything we deliver, supporting the team with a range of administrative, logistical and other project tasks whilst we embed our existing work in the organisation and look to the future of innovation at the Fund.

The role will provide critical support to the Innovation Unit throughout this transition period, with responsibilities including:

· Assisting in managing the adaptation, development, and implementation of innovation projects and activities.

· Supporting the process of embedding innovation pilots as business as usual across the Fund.

· Providing logistical support for sessions, events and at meetings including minute taking.

· Ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the team and with other departments.

Our ideal candidate will enjoy working in an ever changing and at times unclear environment, organising what can be complex spaces. They’ll be naturally curious, confident to challenge existing approaches, and driven by a passion to make change for historically underserved communities. They can be based anywhere in the UK, with the ability to travel to the occasional meeting or team away day.

Wikimedia UK is the national platform for open knowledge, bringing together practical and policy expertise about Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects. Purpose of job

To lead Wikimedia UK’s work with the education sector, focusing on secondary schools, and including universities and non-formal education. Create a step change in the scale and impact of our education work.

Main Duties

1. Programme Development and Delivery

• Lead on the development and delivery of Wikimedia UK’s education programme, in collaboration with the Director of Programmes and Evaluation and other colleagues
• Build on our learning from past and existing activities across Wikimedia UK and the wider movement to develop and roll out a new Wikimedia and information literacy programme for the UK’s secondary school sector; adapting this for the four nations as appropriate
• In conjunction with other Programmes staff, support the delivery of information literacy projects within higher education, through existing and new strategic partnerships as well as smaller projects and interventions such as Wikimedia in the Classroom courses
• Develop and deliver a range of information literacy activities
• Seek opportunities for new partnerships within the education sector, and grow existing relationships with potential delivery partners, for example within the cultural sector
• Work with the Development team and other staff to identify and follow up funding opportunities for existing or potential projects
• Support other staff within the Programmes team in their own work with the education sector

2. Sector Advocacy

• Promote the importance of media and information literacy skills to digital citizenship and civic engagement, and demonstrate Wikimedia’s value in developing those skills through running targeted interventions and disseminating our research and outcomes
• Advocate for a strong focus on media and information literacy skills in schools and university curricula, and work with other staff, partners and allies to campaign for public policy initiatives and investment to support these skills across society

3. Monitoring, Evaluation and Impact

• Run and evaluate the pilots of our work in schools
• Report regularly on programme plans, outputs and outcomes, in collaboration with other staff in the Programmes team
• Handle documentation and record all relevant programme metrics. Update CRM records for partnerships, volunteers and activities

4. Communication and Dissemination

• Write blog posts, create case studies, and generally contribute to the promotion and dissemination of our work and impact, in collaboration with the Communications team
• Engage in public speaking opportunities on behalf of Wikimedia UK in promoting our work, as required
• Engage with other Wikimedia organisations, sharing our education work and peer-learning

Experience

• Experience of working directly with UK secondary schools
• Experience of developing and managing partnership projects

The Church Engagement team sits within the External Engagement Department, which covers areas including communications, publications and resources, press and media, digital content and marketing, fundraising appeals, church engagement, events and volunteers. Teams work closely together on shared activities to ensure that the strategy is connected and delivers a coherent public message, maximising every potential opportunity to increase income and deepen understanding and engagement. Other office staff include those focused on operations and finance, as well as a small Development Team engaging with major donors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will allow you to make a real difference to the lives of millions of people in the Middle East and North Africa.  You will help to manage, maintain and increase income and engagement through the following key responsibilities:

·Work with the team to implement strategies for growing key areas of income and engagement with churches and individuals, maintaining prospect lists, communicating with churches to resource and increase engagement.

·To manage, motivate and support a diverse team in different geographical locations and working patterns.

·To assist with delivering the church partnership and media projects programme, inviting church leaders and churches to join, helping research, prepare and send project proposals, reports and associated resources.

·To analyse current church giving patterns and identify pathways to increase engagement, levels and forms of giving (including individual giving in conjunction with other team members).

This is an ambitious project by Inner Forth Futures (IFF) - a collaboration of 9 organisations, who have committed to work together with advisory organisations, stakeholders and community groups to achieve a shared vision. The Inner Forth Futures vision is that the sense of connection, purpose and place that put the Inner Forth at the forefront of the industrial development of Scotland will be revitalised. We aim to achieve this using a landscape scale approach with heritage at its core to engage people in new ways in the Inner Forth’s management.

The Climate FORTH project began delivery in August 2023 and will run until November 2026 to contribute significantly to delivering our vision. Climate FORTH is funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and a range of co-funders.

The project will support a move to a greener future and post-pandemic recovery and generate opportunities to share learning, influence adaption and inspire the change needed to transition to a climate-resilient landscape in the Inner Forth and beyond. In this Project Officer role you will support project delivery by leading business and tourism sector engagement activity that supports the delivery of our sustainable tourism activities.

This will include the following activities;

• Facilitating the use of a Visitor Giving Scheme across the landscape - an opportunity for those benefitting and enjoying the local heritage of the Inner Forth to invest and enhance.
• Develop and deliver the ‘Round the Forth passport scheme’ to encourage locals and visitors alike to engage with heritage sites in the landscape.
• Facilitating the creation of car free itineraries and signage for heritage attractions in the Inner Forth.
• Setup and delivery of a series of events at lesser-known heritage sites and ‘visiteering’ opportunities (volunteer sessions for visitors) to promote local tourism and support the economic resilience of local businesses.
• Engaging local businesses with a created ‘Tourism Toolkit’ - designed to provide information on the local area, its heritage assets and offering resources to promote walking/cycling tourism.
• Setup and delivery of Tourism and Hospitality Business Upskilling sessions promoting the Tourism Toolkit, including familiarisation trips, talks from industry specialists and networking.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of working in the business engagement and/or tourism sector. You will be supported by the Climate FORTH Project Manager, Steering Group and Board but you will need to be able to demonstrate a strong ability to work independently and to demonstrate your own initiative.

The post will be based at the RSPB Skinflats Reserve near Falkirk, with flexibility to work part of the week from home and occasional weekend and evening work. The role will include regular travel around the Inner Forth to businesses and sites.

Additional responsibilities include supporting the Project Manager with elements of grant reporting and contributing to internal and external communications.

Essentials:

• Experience of business engagement and / or working with the tourism sector.
• Knowledge of a range of techniques for promoting heritage or sustainable tourism. 
• Ability to persuade and influence a wide range of people - including the ability to involve businesses in project activities and schemes.
• Experience of working with project teams, partners and stakeholders.
• Some knowledge of the theory and practice of project management.
• Ability to produce clear written communications including report writing.

The Corporate Partnerships Officer will join a small and high-performing Corporate Partnerships team, taking over a portfolio of corporate partners and prospects at our ‘consortium’ partner level, ranging from £10k-£50k per annum.

You will identify, engage, secure, and steward corporate partner prospects from sectors that include law, construction, manufacturing and logistics, as well as supporting other team members across different sectors as the need arises. The existing portfolio of partners are primarily legal firms who also engage with our impactful programmes, and you will also have personal and team new business targets and support senior team members to steward our flagship partners.

We are looking for a fundraiser who is keen to develop their corporate fundraising skills, especially building relationships with delivery partners, strategic funders, and corporate foundations. Our ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, a confident communicator, and able to work independently under their own initiative as well as within the team.

The role will be line managed by the Head of Corporate Partnerships, working closely with other members of the Corporate Partnerships team, and collaboratively across the wider Development team and Employability Programmes team. 

Main duties

New business

• Personally scope, develop and secure new corporate partnerships at consortium level (£10k-£50k), aiming for a robust portfolio of partners in assigned sectors with multi-year commitments, working with the Head of Corporate Partnerships and other relevant stakeholders to appropriately to secure and steward.
• Support the Head of Corporate Partnerships to engage in proactive new business development within the corporate sector, including support for network mapping with senior volunteers.
• Manage writing and submission of reports and proposals for grants to corporate foundations, working alongside other Development team and wider organisation members to ensure high-quality submissions.
• Alongside team members, manage the shared Development inbox to ensure all enquiries are dealt with in a prompt, consistent, and friendly manner.
• Follow all relevant policies and processes to ensure due diligence is completed for all prospective donors, account management plans are kept up to date, and corporate partners receive high-quality stewardship.

Account Management and Development

• Manage and grow the portfolio of ‘consortium’ level corporate partnerships, including leveraging existing relationships to maximise financial income and partnership longevity.
• Support senior team members on designated high-value partnerships, including specific administrative and project tasks, e.g. coordinating meetings and webinars, attending programme visits, event invites, and volunteering opportunities.
• Write and deliver engaging and high-quality partnership proposals and reports for new and existing ‘consortium’ level funders, working with the wider Development team and relevant other Sutton Trust teams as appropriate.
• Be accountable for achieving agreed corporate income targets, looking for opportunities to grow funding and diversify corporate income.

Fundraising, Finance and Reporting

• Act as an ambassador for the Trust with external audiences in the corporate space, representing the Trust with confidence and enthusiasm to secure major gifts and develop relationships.
• Ensure the Trust’s CRM (Salesforce), account management plans, and all relevant income pipeline documents are kept appropriately up to date with activity from corporate partners, including accurate income forecasting.
• Attend appropriate meetings, such as the Employer Working Group, to represent the corporate team and portfolio of partners, and share information with colleagues across the Trust.
• Work with colleagues to support delivery of impactful events to cultivate prospects and steward partners, with a focus on experience for corporate partners and prospects.
• Appropriately follow policies and procedures on due diligence, Salesforce and data management, account management, stewardship, and reporting.
• Stay up to date with corporate fundraising best practice, learning from senior members of the corporate team, and keep abreast of developments and opportunities within the wider fundraising space.

The Project Manager/Business Analyst role forms part of the PMO Team. The role will include management of priority projects across the Stewardship agile change portfolio, as well as the analysis and improvement of business processes across Stewardship.
