Job description
Citizens Advice Southwark provides outreach advice service in hospitals across South East London as well as from our main offices in Peckham and Walworth.
You will undertake casework, assisting clients to access their entitlements to welfare benefits and other sources of financial help such as grants and help with health and travel costs and assist clients to prepare for benefit appeals and provide representation at tribunals as required.
To be successful you will need:
- At least one year’s full time (or part time equivalent) paid or unpaid recent experience of advice work. This should include advising and undertaking casework on complex cases in social welfare law.
- Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of welfare benefits including those related to disability and sickness.
- An understanding of and commitment to the Aims and Principles of the Citizens Advice service including Equal Opportunities policies.
