You’ll be part of a cross-functional External Engagement team with a remit spanning communications, events, advocacy, fundraising and digital transformation. This role may at times include deputising for the Head of External Engagement.

You’ll be leading communications for a range of flagship projects working with a range of global partners, from the Commonwealth Partnerships for Antimicrobial Stewardship to the Health Equity for All Advocacy Campaign. You’ll play a critical role in an institutional rebrand, reflecting THET’s commitment to continually growing and adapting to the changing global health and international development landscape. As Fundraising Manager you will lead the high value fundraising (Grants, Trusts and Corporates, major donors) team in Wales to maximise income from external funding streams by developing funding plans, identifying opportunities, building relationships and generating funds to agreed targets. The role is home based in Wales with expectation of coming together regularly to meet in offices or travel across Wales when appropriate.

What's the role about?

This is a strategic role looking to maximise existing income sources and identify and evaluate new sources of income to ensure sustainable funding for RSPB Cymru's work. The successful candidate will develop and deliver fundraising plans, implement and review an annual team work programme, and manage and maintain relationships with existing and potential funders to increase financial support for nature conservation programmes across the RSPB and partners/sector.

Key to this role will be working with Head of Funding Development and colleagues to plan advocacy and solicitation strategies, ensuring standards, funding conditions and compliance is met, reporting internally and externally and setting and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimise performance, maximise income and ensure on-going funding of RSPB's work.

Essentials:

• Proven track record in Grants, Trusts and Corporates fundraising.
• Experience of developing fundraising projects with a range of partners and managing multiple donor relationships.
• Working to income targets and managing income and expenditure budgets.
• Thorough in-depth understanding of funder motivations, funding processes, the implications of funding packages and commitments and project management principles.
• Thorough working knowledge of relevant Chartered Institute of Fundraising, Fundraising Regulator and Charities Act regulations and guidelines. Detailed understanding of GDPR, the IOF Codes or Practice and lead RSPB fundraising activities to be compliant.
• Understand the requirement to use fundraising database such as Salesforce and how this should be applied in practice.
• Understanding team dynamics and what it takes to lead a team successfully - recognising motivation, confidence and competence as drivers for success.
• Experience and commitment to delivery of Return on Investment ratio set, both in terms of head count, expenditure and salaries.
• Excellent communication skills; fluency, brevity, confidence, and creativity in all work.
• Proven skills in leadership and management; the ability to bring focus, direction and energy to get the job done, working with and through others.

As Grants and Bids Manager, you will manage statutory funding applications of five, six and seven figure multi-year income compliant with commissioner/funder requirements and oversee the project management of applications – managing timelines, activities, delegating tasks and ensuring stakeholders meet them, support decision-making through providing relevant and informed advice and producing high quality funding proposals and applications.

We will also rely on you to plan and chair proposal development meetings with key internal stakeholders, to identify and successfully bring in new funding opportunities that align with our strategic objectives, and to provide the highest level of donor care and manage involvement of new funders to ensure that the giving potential of each individual funding body is maximised. Updating the Fundraising Management Team with strategic developments in funding opportunities and supporting the Statutory Fundraising Team with other tasks, including their funding applications and proposals, are also vital elements of the role.

Colostomy UK is a national charity that offers support and advice to people who have had stoma surgery (ostomates) and those who care about them. The Role 

As our Marketing Operations Officer your role will be to build brand awareness, helping to ensure the Yorkshire Cancer Research brand is accurately and consistently presented across all marketing touchpoints, including branded merchandise and printed collateral. 

Supporting the Marketing Manager, you will extend the charity’s reach across Yorkshire and support the marketing team to deliver effective marketing campaigns that engage supporters and help raise the profile of the charity. 

Specifically, you will: 

• Work with stakeholders across the charity to define requirements for branded items and marketing products / services (e.g. branded merchandise / clothing, printed collateral, branded display items). 

• Manage the relationship with external marketing suppliers (e.g. printers, merchandise suppliers, signage companies etc.) to source marketing products and services.

• Identify suppliers, make product recommendations, obtain samples / quotes and evaluate which products/services represent overall best value for the charity and formulate recommendations for approval.

• Manage the procurement of marketing products/services in line with the charity’s procurement processes/policies.

• Be responsible for stock management for branded items/collateral across the charity. 

• Develop a preferred-supplier framework for marketing products/services in partnership with the Finance and Corporate Services department. 

• Manage the marketing budget for branded collateral and merchandise, ensuring team and charity processes are adhered to.

• Lead the Photo Permissions Process on behalf of the marketing team and ensuring appropriate permissions are in place for all images used in the charity’s marketing, ensuring that permissions are recorded appropriately on the supporter database.

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To have a degree or relevant qualification and or work experience (e.g. apprenticeship / further education). 

• To have experience of working in or with a marketing team.

• To have knowledgeable about the different types of products and/or services required to fulfil marketing campaigns.

• To have experience of working with external partners and suppliers to deliver projects and campaigns. 

• To have excellent project management and organisational skills.

• To have good working knowledge of matters relating to procurement, e.g. processes / value for money / wider considerations (e.g. sustainability).

The purpose of the role is to drive and deliver our ambitious fundraising strategy in order to support the work of Life. The Individual Giving Manager is responsible for shaping and delivering the end-to-end experience of existing supporters as well as attaining new supporters.

Reporting to the Director of Income Generation and leading the Individual Giving Team, the post holder will work closely with colleagues across the fundraising and marketing teams to; create, test, monitor and evaluate appeals and campaigns, lead on Legacy (and in-memoriam giving) lottery and raffle and other income streams associated with individual giving. The post holder will be working to and reporting on ambitious income and expenditure targets and ensuring that supporters have a positive experience of the charity.

The postholder will lead a Donor Administration Manager to deliver on a positive donor/supporter experience with the aim of retention of current supporters for the long term as well as acquisition of new donors, maximising the potential of all of our supporters. It forms a central part of the overall fundraising strategy, with the ultimate aim of growing our individual giving income to increase the impact of the charity and benefit those needing support in pregnancy, pregnancy loss or in the early years of a baby.

Key Responsibilities:

· Design, develop and implement a cohesive supporter journey strategy focussed on supporter needs and continuous re-engagement

· Champion best practice and stewardship with individual supporters

· Grow one-off donations and regular gifts and maximise the acquisition of new supporters through direct mail and digital marketing

· Co-ordinate all communications and messaging targeted at existing supporters

· Measure performance against campaigns and appeals

· Lead on marketing and communications around Legacy giving and the Legacy and In-Memoriam supporters journey

· Lead on other forms of individual giving income streams such as the lottery or raffles, horizon scanning for new opportunities

· Ensure that CRM data is used effectively across the charity

· Ensure that GDPR policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated and adhered to across the organisation

· Support data benchmarking, prospect research and audits as required

· As part of a new organisation-wide approach, identify and embrace new digital opportunities, trends and technologies in relation to supporter experience and direct marketing

 Individual giving, core fundraising activity

 · Plan, organise and deliver a broad range of ongoing and specific fundraising campaigns and activities

· Regularly review campaign deliverables to ensure targets are on track or adjustments are put in place to mitigate any shortfalls etc

· Regularly report back to the Director of Income Generation on plans and activities

· Lead and manage the Supporter Journeys mapping and implementation programme across a range of channels and products

· Identify and develop key audience segments, in conjunction with the marketing team

· Proactively keep up to date with new trends, technologies and opportunities in relation to supporter experience and direct marketing

· Develop peer networks across the sector

· Responsible for budget management and financial approvals

· As part of ongoing annual operational planning, monitor income and expenditure and draw up relevant departmental budgets

Research & Service Development

 · Identify individual giving trends and use this knowledge to continually develop new products for the charity

· In line with GDPR and complying with all legislation and the Code of Fundraising Practice: ensure fundraising and campaigns are insight-led and focused on long-term growth

· Oversee the compliance of third party agencies to ensure activity is carried out in line with the values of Life, the Fundraising Code of Practice and the law

· Input fully into the wider fundraising strategy by working closely with fellow managers and the team as a whole

Information Management

 · Ensure data and information systems are up to date and provide an accurate picture of supporter segmentation, communications, preferences, permissions, requests, gifts and pledges

· Create regular and detailed reports to monitor individual giving performance against campaigns and targets

· Support the maintenance of the database to ensure records are updated, procured and implemented.

Personal and People Development

 · Ensure personal continuing professional development is maintained, including attending relevant internal and external development training and workshops.

· Ability to manage own objectives and areas of responsibility within charity projects to ensure deadlines and financial targets are met.

· The post holder will be expected to liaise within the team and with key stakeholders as well as supervising specific projects and campaigns.

Line management responsibility for the Fundraising Insight & Database Officers, providing day to day management support, appraisals and objective setting, as well as working with these postholders on their own personal and career development.

• Identify and maximise opportunities to generate reactive media coverage, responding effectively to external events, news and the cultural conversation

About you

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Significant operational experience in mass-market PR, as a print or broadcast journalist, or equivalent professional media communications experience
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external contacts across diverse cultures, disciplines and time zones
• Solid experience developing and implementing PR campaigns for corporate clients, including cause-related events, co-branded marketing activity, global campaigns
