Join The Society as Communications and Membership Manager to drive our strategic objectives and elevate the profile of physiology among the public and key stakeholders. The position
In this role, you will coordinate The Society’s communications activities to ensure a coherent and impactful narrative, manage the Communications Grid, and act as a brand champion. Your responsibilities will include establishing and maintaining networks with partner organisations and third-party suppliers, managing the communications and membership budget, and leading the establishment of key performance indicators for communications and engagement activities. You will also develop targeted narratives, oversee the production of various communications content, and monitor trends to propose innovative projects.
The Communications and Membership Manager has line management responsibility for a Senior Communications Officer, Membership and Grants Officer, and a Communities and Contents Officer.
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have a Life-Science degree or relevant experience in Life Sciences. They should have a strong track record of developing and delivering multi-channel communications for diverse audiences, including translating complex research for lay audiences. High digital literacy is essential, encompassing digital design tools, content creation, website management, email platforms, and social media management. Experience in project management, creating accurate visual and written content for various platforms, and excellent organisational skills with a proactive problem-solving approach are required. The candidate should also have experience maintaining professional relationships, working collaboratively within a team, and line management.

About you

- You will be able to demonstrate your ability to maximise coverage through reactive opportunities, be on top of the news cycle, and have experience of reputational management and crisis communications.
- To excel in this busy role, you will have excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines and stakeholder needs in a sometimes pressurised environment.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills are essential, as you will be required to work collaboratively with; and influence people at all levels of the organisation, as well as giving clear, evidence-based advice to managers, Directors and the Executive team.
In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. We are seeking an experienced fundraising and communications manager to cover maternity leave in our award winning charity working to end homelessness one person at a time in East London.
About the role
Based within the fundraising team, The Fundraising, Communications & Supporter Manager will provide direction and manage the team responsible for brand, communications, events and fundraising through individual giving, legacies, community and corporate partnerships. This role will also directly be responsible for Major Donor relations and income.
The role and its responsibilities are critical in the charity’s growth and delivery of strategic goals through brand development, stakeholder engagement and delivery of some key streams of fundraised income. This role will work closely with the new Head of Fundraising and Communications role which has recently been created, and with our established Trusts Fundraising Manager, to support diversification/growth of income streams.

Other responsibilities include
- Develop the brand on an ongoing basis, in collaboration with the Chief Executive and senior leaders, to ensure it is serving the charity as it grows and helps to achieve strategic goals

Development:
- Input into organisational development plans, working closely with the Strategic Management Team
- Devise and oversee development and implementation of the fundraising and audience audit and strategy
- Review existing and future fundraising and marketing activities to ensure compliance with regulations and best practice, ensuring internal controls are adhered to in order to ensure supporter satisfaction and to mitigate against reputational and financial risk to the charity
- Keep up to date with best practice in fundraising, identifying and sharing trends, developments, regulations and legal requirements that impact Your Place - specifically, this includes the Fundraising Regulator’s requirements including the Fundraising Code, GDPR, PECR, and Charity Commission regulations
- Manage budgets, contracts and resources across the relevant parts of the department
- Prepare forecasts for income and report on the team’s performance against targets and KPIs
- Oversee accurate recording of income, sources and allocation to ensure proper organisational expenditure

Managing and Developing People:
- Manage the work of direct reports, agreeing and setting objectives, targets and deadlines

The Director of Programmes and Partnerships is responsible for ensuring The Diana Award delivers quality impactful programmes and develops strong strategic partnerships that harness young people's power and potential to change the world. This role is one of four Director-level positions within the organisation, forming the Senior Leadership Team alongside the CEO.
The Programmes Directorate currently comprises four teams: Anti-Bullying, Mentoring, Social Action, and Impact and Influence, with a staff count of 25 plus a pool of associate trainers. The Diana Award’s programme strategy (2021-2026) focuses on embedding evidence-driven, youth-led approaches across our programmes, enhancing our profile as a platform for youth-led social action, and increasing our influence on policies affecting young people.
The Director of Programmes and Partnerships will work collaboratively with other members of SLT and the CEO to drive forward the organisation’s strategy and plans as set out in The Diana Award’s five-year strategy, Future Forward, and play a vital role in shaping the new strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Senior Leadership
· Drive the organisation’s strategy and vision as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, taking key decisions in the best interest of the organisation.

About the role
As digital content officer, you’ll design, edit and optimise our web content to help our users feel empowered throughout their breast cancer experience.
From personal stories and blogs to landing pages and webforms, you’ll support teams across the charity and lead the content creation for some of our key projects and campaigns.
You’ll know content design, search engine optimisation (SEO), user experience (UX) and accessibility best practices like the back of your hand and be able to advise teams on the correct approach for their pages. And with support from our digital analytics manager, you’ll be able to advise teams on how to improve their content to drive conversions.
Not only will you be able to take the lead, but you’ll also be a team player. You’ll be able to take direction from the digital content manager on bigger projects and collaborate with other members of your team.
You’ll join the team at an exciting time as we’re amid our digital transformation project. You’ll play a key role in moving our content from the old to the new website. You’ll also help set the standard of content on the new website by training teams on new processes on the new CMS and coaching them on web best practices.
This role is a 12 month fixed-term contract.

Arts for Dementia is a small charity but a leader in our field. We work with artists, galleries, museums and community spaces to offer inspiring arts programmes for people in the early stages of dementia and their companions. Mile End Climbing Wall (MECW) is the trading name of the charity Development through Challenge (DtC).
Development through Challenge started life as a charity called North London Rescue Commando (NLRC), set up when London was at threat of flood. They moved to the current site from North London, where they had started as a small water sports centre. In the mid-1980s a change in focus led to the formation of Mile End Climbing Wall. It became the climbing wall in London and one of the first climbing walls in England. In 1997 NLRC changed its name to Development through Challenge.
Since then, we have been providing East London and UK climbing communities with high quality climbing and associated facilities that are available to everyone regardless of ability to pay, physical ability, or skill-level. We organise training and challenges that improve people’s wellbeing.
Responsible to the Operations Manager, this position will work with the Senior Managers, Trustees and CEO, to deliver the strategic plan for marketing and communications and manage their operational implementation - including on and offline campaigns, internal and external communications, publications, digital activities, events and PR to raise awareness of brand and reputation and maximise customer and community engagement.

You will ensure that the charity has the communications and marketing structures, systems and processes in place in order to help us reach even more people affected by spinal cord injury and increase our supporter base.
