Office Administrator - Donor Communications and Volunteer Liaison
Friends of the Holy Land are looking for an energetic, dedicated individual to join our fast-moving, growing charity.
Friends of the Holy Land has a small network of volunteer supporters around the country and an expanding number of financial donors. This new role will be responsible for communicating with these two communities, with a focus on preparing monthly emails to supporters, monitoring and moderating social media accounts, liaising with external partners to deliver external communications, developing donor stewardship and growing our volunteer network.
The role will also be required to help with regular office duties and will need to be familiar with all aspects of administrative support for the operational success of the charity. You will need to be comfortable working in a faith-based organisation, talking to supporters across the UK and with our partners in the Holy Land, and be competent in creating communications.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Office experience
- Must have strong computer skills using Microsoft office (ideally Office 365). CRM training will be provided as necessary
- Excellent written and verbal communication and inter-personal skills
- Ability to proof-read with attention to detail
- Ability to write and design short communications, e.g. emails, posters (ideally)
- Pro-active with the ability to multi-task and work independently and with changing priorities
- Confident phone manner and a friendly demeanor - be a 'people person'
- Be comfortable working in a faith-based environment
- As part of a small team, a problem-solving, can-do attitude is necessary along with an unflappable demeanor
- Experience of CRM systems helpful but not essential
- Experience managing Social media accounts desirable

Key tasks
- To establish and maintain a communications strategy and plan for Chambers, utilising the latest in digital communication methods.
- To manage the promotional activities of Chambers, its Practice Teams, and individual members, by managing and developing:
- Its website and social media,
- Webinars, podcasts and other digital training methods,
- In-person training and promotional events.
- To assist the HoPM by promoting Chambers to professional clients.
- To manage the promotion of Chambers via the media.
- To manage and promote engagement with legal associations, charities and NGOs to further the ethos and business of Chambers.
- To promote Chambers and its members to relevant legal directories.
- To assist with the development and promotion of campaigns organised or joined by Chambers.

The above tasks will include:
- Identifying newsworthy cases and issues upon which Chambers may wish to engage, including through liaising closely with members of Chambers and the Practice Management Team (PMgT) to identify notable cases and issues upon which we may wish to engage.
- Working under the direction of the HoPM to assist in the practice development of individual members.
- Engaging barrister members and pupils to produce high quality training and promotional material for the website and social media, including content production such as webinars, podcasts and vlogs.

- Accessible, attractive, interesting and as useful as possible to our professional and lay clients,
- Optimised to achieve top search engine ranking,
- Up to date, with members’ pages regularly reviewed, and news items frequently added,
- A source of training materials and information relating to our work and ethos, including webinars, vlogs, blogs and ‘how to’ guides.
- Ensuring a variety of social media platforms are utilised to optimise the footprint of Chambers, and to promote news about Chambers’ cases and other activities as quickly, professionally and as widely as possible.
- Identifying potential new clients to the PMgT and assisting them in the promotion of Chambers.
- Maintaining and developing professional client contact lists, mailing lists and databases, in conjunction with the Practice Teams and PMgT.
- Coordinating, advertising and managing training and promotional events in conjunction with Practice Teams and the PMgT. This to include maximising outcomes from events.
- Liaising with outside bodies, including legal associations, charities and NGOs to promote the engagement of members of Chambers and the standing of Chambers as a whole.
- Managing the use of Chambers seminar facilities for ethos-compatible third-party events.
- In conjunction with the HoPM and individual members, coordinating and drafting submissions to legal directories.
- Developing and maintaining effective relationships with journalists, media outlets and prominent actors in the human rights field to optimise the exposure of members and Chambers as a whole.
- Maintaining and developing promotional material for Chambers to reflect and promote its ethos.
- Assisting with the production of Chambers promotional material, including sophisticated marketing materials by utilising the latest advertising platforms optimised for social media.
- Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on key communications activities, to help refine and improve the strategy.
- Working to a budget set by the Chambers’ AGM and reporting to the Staffing / Planning Committee and Chambers’ Meetings as requested.
Person Specification
The individual will have:
- A clear understanding and commitment to the ethos of Chambers.
- Experience of developing and maintaining an organisational communications strategy.
- A strong technical understanding of website and social media platform management and content production.
- Experience of the use of a range of digital communications for promotion and development.
- The ability to draft clear, engaging copy and undertake editing, under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work both in a team and on own initiative.
- The ability to think creatively and demonstrate a very high level of attention to detail.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise.
The successful applicant will be confident and articulate, and may have relevant experience in the NGO, international organisation, development or charity sector. A general understanding of the way the legal profession is organised and works will be helpful but not essential.

About the role:

Duties and Key relationships Marketing and Communications
This is a new role in the Marketing and Communications department and is responsible for the media relations of the Charity.
PR and Media Relations
• To develop relevant media contacts, as well as contacts in the sector, to maximise the reach and coverage of key communications campaigns as well as wider organisational projects.
• Produce creative copy written for a variety of audience groups which champions and shows best practice of our tone of voice

The Role
You will be responsible for managing the production cycle from enquiry to delivery and invoicing, in a well-organised and seamless process, and for finding solutions quickly, should issues arise.

Main responsibilities include:

· Manage all aspects of the production cycle from enquiry, to creating product specification, supplying price and managing production, through to delivery and supplying invoice
· Ensure that all relevant processes are carried out, in particular checking and assessing credit worthiness of clients
· Calculate and report on appropriate royalties for designated customer accounts
· Ensure that all materials sent to suppliers meet appropriate technical standards
· Support the stock needs using supply chain methodology
· Ensure that print materials supplied are correctly licensed for the specified purpose, and that IP and copyright agreements are adhered to and protected
· Ensure all products are consistent with and conform to requirements and the Royal Charter

You will be organised, accurate and high-performing, good at detail, with an ability to connect well with clients and inspire them with confidence in you. You'll be committed to growing the circulation and use of the Bible through maintaining the highest production and delivery standards. About you
We are seeking candidates with experience in managing the development, production and delivery of web content and digital products, including e-learning resources, videos, podcasts, and images, for a high traffic and information rich website.

Supporting the implementation of the Unloc London Strategy

The successful candidate will work with the Head of the Gambling Action Lab (GAL) and the Senior Research Officer to bring together a handful of representatives from financial services firms to explore ways to reduce gambling-related financial harms. They will build and maintain stakeholder relationships and play a key role in facilitating group discussions with financial services representatives. The Fundraising Development Manager role is a real opportunity to help Somerset Wildlife Trust develop a sustainable fundraising strategy and bring together the Fundraising and Supporter Development Team to retain and grow donations. Responsible for our 23,000 members, as well as appeals, adoptions, our online shop and member events, the Fundraising Development Manager will lead the team to bring in a significant proportion of unrestricted income, as well as managing the relationships with some of our most passionate supporters.
We are looking for an insightful fundraising manager who can help us maintain our existing fundraising channels as well as developing our corporate membership strategy and investigating new sources of giving and opportunities we have yet to take advantage of – essential if we are to achieve our ambitious strategy. You’ll be working with the entire wider fundraising team to help develop leads and pipelines to support the wider fundraising efforts, as well as having the opportunity to diversify our fundraising actions.
Meet Fundraising Strategic Targets
Supervise and line manage the Fundraising and Supporter Care Team by building integrated programmes of supporter development activities that retain and grow donations and fundraising from existing supporters and deliver growth in income by recruiting new financial supporters to achieve financial targets.
Responsibility 1: Leading Public Fundraising Activity
Manage fundraising activity through:
- Leading the fundraising team to build integrated programmes of activities that increase donors and deliver growth in income.
- Growing annual membership numbers by managing and maintaining current recruitment channels. Oversee relationships and engagement with our membership including complaint management.
- Managing the relationship with the Trust’s face to face membership recruitment company, SWWFL, to deliver best efficiency and returns on investment.

Responsibility 3: Developing Fundraising pipelines
Provide management and accountability by:
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to contribute ideas and knowledge to deliver integrated engagement and fundraising campaigns and the growth of other income streams, including gifts of £1k+, gifts in wills, Community Fundraising and Grant Fundraising.
- Creating user journeys and stewardship for our supporters to help retention and increase giving propensities.
